What tires? Avoiding softs might attract some more drivers.

Were running 2 tire combination RS/RM, which still has us doing 1 pit stops at the moment. I would rather go all softs to to induce 2 stops vs the 1 stop pitting with full meds until we start racing more km's in the future hopefully'

Seth ill switch you over to the Takata Dome!

Most likely we won't run he Motul because of the kg issue. We still have the Xanavi open at the moment. If we add kg to the GTR's then we will have to re spec them all because of adding 1 chassis.

I agree with litchi. Who cares about the pit stops. We should do hards. 1 stop and great racing.

Sorry guys we hav been doing RS/RM and had a good time with them. Also has made over taking easier and our incident reports are down by 80% percent since our season 1 on mediums only. If it ain't broke don't fix it is our motto! 👍

We are trying to get more pit stops in the race. We're not trying do 1 pit races. It's called using strategy in a race. Where is the fun and strategy in just running alot of laps and pitting once. To me it is more fun figuring out how to beat an apponent by using good racing skill, a good setup and good strategy. Not many real races, if any at all, do a 1 stop. 👍

I for one don't like driving a car with white knuckles the whole entire race. That's not fun. 👍

Who needs a good setup on racing softs? The tires dont make the racing any closer or better. And they don't effect overtaking at all. Driver skill? With racing softs? Wrong tires for testing skill. I used to be an advocate for softs. I regret that now trying to stay in the top ten in the time trials. My throttle control is buns because all I had to do before was point and floor it. But hey. I see I'm on the losing side here. I'll see how it goes. Oh one more thing.. Do more laps, Or turn tire wear on fast. That's my last argument for it.

Okay guys this is getting stupid now.

Can you all please wait until we have a GT500 thread to discuss all of this.

Until then please just discuss all thing GT300 here so we can focus on this final race next week.

We could increse to 250km now that we are in faster cars but we have tried fast wear and using 300hp cars the fuel consumption was ridiculous so closewith us using close to 500 hp now we will be picking 30 liters of fuel and that's over the top. GT5 needs to give us different tire manufactors so we can use the same compound but speed up the wear rate; ie pirelli's that last 6 laps bridgestones that last 9 laps michellin's that last 12 laps and with these numbers increasing by compound hardness. Until then racing on Meds & Softs have been fun for us; a lot of side by side action off line as well as on line. I believe I'm one of the only guys running soft compound series and that's exactly why I am so drivers have a choice to pick which series and compounds they feel they can drive. You can catch a med & hard compound series easily on GTP as you know already,...

Important News:
We will be using both compounds RM/RH for this 24hr Nurburgring Rd. Remember both compounds must be used for at least 1 full stint. The op's main page has been updated! 👍

1 full stint I assume means 1 full lap. So does that mean that you have to exit pits as 1 lap, set 1 lap, then pit again the following lap (so 3 laps in total)?

Also guys there are now 2 more penalties

*]Discussion of any kind of incidents(e.g. posting youtube clips), before action is taken, will result in the penalty being halved.
[*]Post race rage (either in lounge or on thread) must end 10 minutes after the end of the race, any foul language/abuse after this time will result in your qualifying time being wiped for the next round.

Nobody gets penalised for previous incidents...

Sorry, so you're saying I have to travel to the future to be penalized?

What does mean "1 full stint" exactly for you?

Tire Rule: You must start the race with the tire compound that you qualify on. Also the medium tire must be used for a period of 8 laps minimum.

Qualifying:
  • You can qualify at any time until 1 hours before the race begins.
  • Qualifying ends in
  • Notify any of the race officials on PSN or on here that you want to qualify.
  • Success ballast is used during qualifying.
  • The qualifying room must have the same settings as listed under "Room Regulations"
  • The race official will check room settings and car settings.
  • You will do a 4 lap "Grid Start" race and the fastest lap time in the first
  • A race official must watch all 3 timed laps for a qualifying attempt to be valid.
  • A race official must qualify with another race official watching the qualifying.
  • All times must be posted on the thread along with the race official's name who spectated the qualifying attempt.

Rolling Start: V2

  • In the final sector, there will be no weaving or sudden changes of acceleration.
  • If a driver wishes to accelerate and brake to warm tires, this MUST be done off the racing line
  • It is recommended each car is a car length apart to give the driver in-front the chance to weave to warm their tires.
  • Overtaking is allowed once you cross the start finish line. But full throttle is allowed once the leader crosses the start finish line.
  • Going off track boundaries to warm tires is allowed.
  • A driver who loses positions on the pace lap is allowed to make their way to their starting position in a safe manner.
  • Any collisions on the pace lap will be investigated
  • Leading car must cross finish line at a speed between 70mph and 80mph
What about Nurb 24h?

I answer what I know litchi,

Qualifying is to be just 1 lap. If you go off then you won't lose your time, but if an advantage is gained the steward may penalise you.

About the rolling start-
I propose that we start when exiting the Grand Prix track? Unless anyone has any better ideas

Same for quali? I mean the GP track = the warm up lap and then the Nordschliefe = the timed lap.
A bit like this
