1:39s @Tokyo Reverse for the Audi R8 1300kg 400hp/390hp.
Matched it with the Celica 1120kg 370hp with turbo stg 3.

Adding in the vette and Audi will need re-speccing of cars. Thought we weren't going to do that?

I don't mind the idea, but equally I'm not going to say we should add them

Matched my 1:39.7's with the Celica and in the ZR1 RM (no engine stages no supercharger) 1250kg 400hp.

Do you think we should use the ZR1 or Z06?
How are the sector splits?

If they reach the same time at the end it works for me. They all reached 260-264kmh before T1 braking zone, with 261kmh for the celica, 262kmh for the R8 and 264kmh for the ZR1. The R8 felt the easiest through the middle, but the Vette seemed the fastest in speed. The Celica responds quicker.

Usually the ZR-1 is faster and has higher pp value, but my Z06 will whoop my ZR-1's butt any day of the week, and they only thing I can think of is I've used my Z06 a lot more than Z06. You got to test them at Monza and Mazda for good comparision testing imo.

I would use the Z06 because I think the 2 tone livery looks better!

I think the Supercharged LS9 in the ZR1 RM might be overkill. You get more straight speed with it but its theoretically heavier up front.

Given that these cars are about cornering speed, I think the front lighter Z06 RM with a less flat torque curve is the better bet.

Also I read the Z06 RM corners SLIGHTLY better.

I didn't supercharge it. When you RM the car the supercharger isn't installed. The torque is huge though because the power level % wise is around 52%. But that doesn't take away the torque amount. So big time on the acceleration.

Do you follow Super GT at all? There's more European GT3 cars running in GT300 class than there is JAF GT300 vehicles.

Yes but its easier to balance the cars in real life than in gt5 .

We havent really balanced the cars we have been using , adding new cars could be more headaches

I guess we test them and see how it goes

I know there are Porsches and Corvettes, even seen a Mosler and SLS I think but not sure if they still there.

If Seth says the sector splits and straight speed is close, it would be fun to see how the stack up, tire wear and all.

We got pre-season for that.

Enough of us want to keep it Japanese, so well have to take a vote on it of course.

A handful of us are going to race the GATE GT300 Event during JSTC's off season. I'm guessing we should have another poll for starting a JSTC after the GATE Event.

GATE GT300 Series

It's funny that you want to 'keep it Japanese' but none of us are Japanese. The R8 and the Corvette have run SuperGT in 2012. As did the SLS GT3, the GTR GT3, 458 GT3, 911 GT3 and Reiter Gallardo GT3. If you want to get technical they're Japanese cars because they're owned by the Japanese teams that run them. The cars aren't hard to balance. You only give them their weight and hp penalties to keep them in check. 1300kg 400hp for the Audi R8 and it wasn't any faster than a 370hp 1120kg Celica. We all know the Celica, RX7, Garaiya and Lexus can get more power. The only problem is cars like the Subaru, but that car just won Monza. With it maxed out at 1100kg, it'll be just as quick on Softs.

Im not saying its not possible but we would have to alter specs for the existing cars , which is more work .

Your already comparing it to a different spec celica than this season .

What will happen when ballast penalties come into play ? Some of these new cars might be too heavy to add ballast , if you get what im saying .

I know I sound negative and I'm making it seem like a waste of time but I think the priority should be sorting the cars we already have before adding a new bunch of cars .

I will still give my honest impression on all cars during the pre season testing .

TnT said he would send me the cars I dont have.

See you at testing

I'll test with you so we can compare mate. No point having 3 of us all testing different specs lol.

We can sort the current cars no problem, I think it is just minor things here and there.
After that we move on to test these new cars and get them to parity with what we have.
I think that would be best.
Adding more variety.

Anyone want to get on. Post after party bordem some wild stuff. Wanna wind down with some gt5

I would but I take Sunday's off. It's nice to have a day without gt5 and away from the cars.

Do some grand valley, everybody is struggling there

Oh yeah i am for normal tire wear

Ill go online soon but just to watch the replay

Never mind. I can't drive right now. Lol... Movie. Then bed ways is right ways I suppose. Maybe some real horror show like A Clockwork Orange. Doesn't even compete with my evening. Hahaha... Later on fellas!

If the cars aren't in the GT300 list you can choose when setting up the lobby then they shouldn't be in the race imo.

IF the current cars are spec'd correctly then there is more than enough cars to go around.

If we end up going for longer races I would recommend that we insist on starting on time. I know that life often gets in the way but it is a little frustrating and not totally fair to force drivers that showed up on time to wait.

True that Bob we will make a more strict race start for season 2! 👍

1 to 2 stop pitting w/ tires set to normal wear 👍
I vote to stick with the cars we have 👍

I'm up for being a steward for season 2 Joe, count me in. 👍

Yet we had 7 people or more using the Lexus. It seemed to be Lexus majority, two people used the Garaiya. One person used the Celica. One person used the premium Subaru. 1 person used the MRS and stopped partaking. 2 people used the RX7. Seems like no one wanted to use the lower hp cars IMO. And what's it matter if the room settings only allow JAF GT300 cars? They race GT3's in the class IRL.

People act like it's hard to drop the weight of the current cars or give them a little more power to make them faster. The Corvette's minimum weight is 1090kg or 1100kg. You would have to win 3 times in a row to exceed the maximum ballast if the car was speced at 1200kg. The Audi R8's minimum weight is 1300kg. With a heavier car, you'll be slower around turns. If not, then you'll have slightly worse tire wear. It's a trade off. Not all cars need to be 'equal' in every aspect. If that were the case it'd be a spec series. No one wants that. So as a steward and one of the guys that originally helped with redoing the specs we have now, I think you guys shouldn't be worried about how the cars will play out. ;)

I think injecting a dose of realism and variety in the series via these new chassis will help attract and hold captive more racers for this league.

Even 1 or 2 more competitors would be a success.
