Rory's video made some excellent points. Arrogance would explain a lot of the behavior and lack of communication, and I for one will not buy the next GT. PD does not respect its customer base. I'll play this one still at times because it's a sunk cost, but they've pushed me to start working on getting back into PC gaming after having dropped PC for a while in favor of console convenience.
I agree 100%.

I won't be going near GT8 after this mess. I know I keep saying it, but PD have burned me for the last time with their lies. Leading up to GT7 they proudly claimed it was the be all and end all of the GT franchise, the game that has gone back its roots with a "traditional GT mode" campaign and being the most complete to date.

After release the massive flaws are discovered in both the singleplayer and online components of the game. What was skillfully marketed as the most complete was quickly discovered as the most incomplete in many, many ways. Add to that their shady as **** behaviour with the review copies and macrotransactions, then pulling content from the review copies. They claim a game as a service, but its been nothing remotely resembling that. Minimal content drops (singleplayer races), minimal communication, no road map, many GLARING issues that still are not fixed.

It is such a shame because like many others have said, the driving itself feels so damn good and fun. I think PD need alot more practice with GaaS because they are up there with the worst devs to have a Gaas. Slow, quiet, deaf.

R3V
They're gonna nerf the 787b, GR010 and C9 aren't they?

Honestly it seems like the only concern they have with the game is making sure we don't earn credits. Forget bugs, content, making the UI friendlier, no. Just make sure we can't enjoy the cars in the game. I might join the boycott bandwagon if they do that. Was just starting to accept Sardegna's grind for 700k. If there's no other way to earn enough credits to buy legendaries other than buying, I'm out.
Are you seriously crying because of the (extremely unlikely) possibility that they "nerf" cars which are barely more time effcient than regular Gr.3 cars in grinding that event?

If this was the case, they'd have to "nerf" the McLaren F1 GTR '95 as well, which is also very fast at the track and... is a Gr.3 car. Along with many others.

For anyone wondering why they picked those cars to get nerfed FFB this might answer your question:
The Direct drive wheels were going crazy with power. lol

Well if the Tomahawk needs intense training and a spacesuit to not die drivingg the car, an arm-breaking wheel would be a nice realism touch.
Most of the staff have been outsourced to Tencent for Gran Turismo Krazy Kartz for Android and iPhone
Chinese cars would be interesting but given that PD is japanese, not gonna happen.

I’ve done myself a favor and muted his account. he’s either certifiably insane or an intern who’s had too much koolaid.

The seventeen page response to avoid providing proof of a PC version was * chefs kiss *. This forum is amazing.
I posted where I heard about the PC port weeks ago. A dev at a PD studio who works on localisation. If you don’t believe me. That’s fair enough.

Not only are they not working on it in any meaningful capacity, but you, alongside many others, are simply conflating the initial Sophy announcement, and specifically the notions of Polyphony adding Sophy 'as a friend' as somehow being applicable to the idea that they'll be making changes to the AI post launch, when in reality they made no such promises of that being the case, and even if it does, it almost instantly runs up against problems. For one, considering the fact that they needed 20 PS4's working in tandem with one another to power the initial GT Sport test of Sophy, what possibility is there of Sophy ever coming to PS4, a major enough system that Polyphony abandoned making GT7 a wholly next gen experience to cater towards the wide amount of systems still out in the wild? You're basically telling PS4 players that if they want actual AI, then they should buy a PS5, otherwise they can go pound sand.

Likewise, even if Sophy is applied on a mass scale, good job - the races are still chasing the rabbit, except now the rabbits run like hell, and cut corners on the highest end. You still haven't fixed the issues with the moment to moment racing, and instead have only amplified the fact that many of the issues with the AI work in tandem with the poor and incredibly stale racing loop of fighting to the front from the back, with the person in first being 30 to 40 seconds ahead of you.
The only one making assumptions is you. Sophy AI is still in R&D with an intention to come to consumer level devices. If we do see it in GT7, I expect it’ll be like the first implementation of PSVR, IE 1 vs 1.
He wanted you to post links to the stuff you're trying to say is going to happen. 95% of your posts have been trying to posit that this or that is happening, and you give very little evidence. When you do, it's circumstantial evidence that doesn't at all point to what you think it does.

He asked about Sony’s commitment to Gran Turismo. The head of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst, met with Kaz 2 months after GT7’s launch.

‘Great catching up with @Kaz_Yamauchi today and discuss his exciting plans for the future of @thegranturismo.’

Doesn’t get anymore on the nose than that. Even if people want to downplay the significance of developing a $100m budget movie.
Either man up and post what you know, or don't. And knowing the site's staff, they aren't going to take kindly to you insinuating that you know something, and continually duck ever having to say anything about it that is more substantial then the circumstantial evidence you post.
Site staff practice a policy of “Free Speech”.

In the last day we’ve had posts with fan fiction about PD’s competence, working conditions & budget. While misrepresenting major streamers such as SuperGT & Kie25. Kie has put forward exactly the same points I have. That being PD are well aware of online issues and are working on them.

Rory Alexander, known for staying out of controversy, is finally voicing his ire. SuperGT just flat out doesn't make content anymore, Kireth is busy getting booted from races due to technical issues, Tidgeney has been vocal about not enjoying everything wrong with the game and not being able to launch his TCR league because lobbies are still unfunctional... these aren't small things to be brushed aside, these are EASY FIXES FOR ANY DEV TEAM. The fact that GT/PD doesn't seem to be rectifying them is concerning, and makes no sense. It's like they're willingly punishing their fanbase for buying their game. It's insanity.
He has recently uploaded a video to youtube. He injured his elbow so perhaps that was the reason for not making content for a bit.

Yeah, I love the game too and stick up for the things it does right frequently, but what does this blind apologist comment do for anyone?

There are SIMPLE things that need to be fixed that can totally change the public and player perceptions of the game. SIMPLE things that can bring GT back into the good graces of those who have loved GT for decades.

-Fix the lobbies.

-Put a SHRED of thought and effort into the daily races, and make MORE of them.

-Make the game STABLE.

-COMMUNICATE with fans and LISTEN to what the major complaints are.

-Make MORE single player events, and make single player playable offline. It's not like our friggin' machines can't handle it. Online only makes ZERO sense.

And with all that, the car updates and content updates will be less vilified and criticized because people will have the ability to play rewarding content and the new cars will just be icing on the cake.

For now, the cake is getting stale, and icing doesn't fix that.

Here's Rory's take.

Tech issue: I don't know if it's just me, but this and many of the articles on the homepage/news won't open.

Jesus, if Rory had to make a video about it then it's getting worse IMO.

What kind of answer do you expect from me regarding the above?
Maby i misread this, or not completely understand your meaning?

Sorry if my "blind apologist comment" does nothing for anyone

I'm expecting only one of these 3 things from the next update:
  • 7 new cars, including the Escudo
  • Pikes Peak
  • Lobby fixes

Of course, we could get all three in one update, but that would be simply far too much to expect from a "small indie studio" such as Polyphony...

You suggested that Sony had made public statements making it clear they have big plans for the title.
Sony’s public statements make it clear they have big plans for the title & franchise.
Hermen Hulst posting on his twitter that he chatted with Kaz about HIS plans for the future doesn't really fit that. Who even follows that except gaming nerds? Where are these other public statements Sony have made? Making a movie? That's been on the cards for years, not a new development.

Anyone seen this so called leak on Reddit some tasty car's on it please take with a big pinch of salt.

So, what's the actual difference?
In patch 1.16, Thrustmaster T300 FFB strength when driving in Tomahawk X and Jaaaag VGT SV (I don't have SRT GTS-R VGT) is less aggresive (you can see that on the straight test when wheel goes left and right). I corners I didn't feel any significant difference.
When using T300 and SF1000 wheel add-on (recognized as T-GT) in a regular car (Toyota GR010 HYBRID as an example), you can feel that there's FFB working almost good as it should and you can't drive with the one finger (lol).
Sadly, when using combing above in Tomahawk X and Jaaaag VGT SV, FFB it's basically the same, but Jaaag has a little more strength now.
Is it good update? Yes, but no. I still wish to have more vibrations (like it is in GT Sport).

There is a search function on this forum, you know...

and a big pinch of even more GTRs.

I think PD will move on from GT7 at the end of this year. They are already planning on GT8, which will be a PS5 exclusive. GT7 is a failure on many levels (quality, publicity, etc) and they certainly wont put too many resources into this from now on.

if they do that they will lose many many costumers.....game is basiclly 3 month old...and if they will end giving great content.... its very bad for them

This is what I think too. If they do want to rescue 7 I’d say they’ve got another two or three months over the summer holiday season. If not, my guess is a proper GTS 2 as a PS5 exclusive coming next, then GT8 on PS6 who knows when (if at all). Lots of people have already given up and people like me have greatly scaled back to just doing the marathon. I’d love to see PD’s engagement numbers, especially in Japan (which despite raw player numbers I still believe is the market most likely to influence PD) where literally everyone I know who was playing the game seems to have given up on it. Just anecdotal, but...

Selfishly, I want single-player fixed (ie greatly, greatly expanded) as a priority over online, but I fear they’re going to neglect SP and make online better first (making it even more like current GTS) simply to keep the top online racers and streamers happy.

Edit: typo

Lads if they managed to add a GT League to GT Sport that early in the games life to appease the singleplayer crowd, I'm sure they are going to be capable of saving GT7 before the end of the year.

Stop this ridiculous hyperbole about them abandoning the game and moving on, it's ridiculous, has no base in reality, and isn't constructive whatsoever.

I hope you’re right. Dumping a big GT league into 7 right about now wouldn’t be a bad idea, would it? Part of me wonders if that league emergency dumped into Sport wasn’t races/templates they were saving up to use in 7 and had to let go early, could be one reason why 7 is so lacking in content.

And pretty much all speculation/guessing about this game could be described as ‘ridiculous hyperbole’ (tho I’m not sure hyperbole is what you quite mean) by somebody who wants things to be different. 90 per cent of this forum is people guessing; it’s what you’re going to get when you have an almost completely uncommunicative game studio and publisher. Nobody knows what the plans are, hence we have to speculate, and there’s no law against that.

Thats funny. I dont work for PD or game journalism, I dont need to be constructive or what ever. I'm expressing how I feel and that is it. If you dont like it, carry on with your day and farewell!

If you consider this ridiculous, thats fine for me, but the base in reality is a series of laughable patches since release, accompanied by arrogant twitter postings by Kazunori. That is all. Until now, there has been no serious attempt to get this game to where it should be. Zero.

They'll likely add something, and make some tweaks, but they won't change the core of the game. What we have now is, in large part, what we'll have for the next few years. All we can really do it talk about what should be added.

You are correct. This speaks to the structure of how PD works, or has worked, based on the previous iterations. Just like with GTSport/GT7, half (or whatever) will continue on the current title while other members of the team preps the next title. Full support will end about 1 year before the next's title releases, and since we don't know when that is, but will likely be at least 4 years from now given the history, I don't think they'll abandon GT7 in any way.

I wonder how much extra work it would involve to add some of GT league from GTsport to GT7?Add a few decent payouts or cars as prixes would go some way to make a lot of people happy and extend the life of the game.I really do like playing the game but content wise its getting a little stale for me. 👍

GT League was most likely added to GT Sport to boost disappointing sales. Panic move.

In terms of workload, it would be fairly easy. The issue is reworking menus to show you're progress and the fact that the game is already out, ergo, most people have progressed quite far. They would have to find some metric to convert to XP, but there is nothing that I can think of. Collector points don't really cover track progress. Mileage can be had anywhere as well. Maybe add a percentage of the game that's finished, like GTSport had. It's unlikely that this will be added at this point.

Have you forgotten the Sophy element which they will include into GT7.
So we can be sure, it will be a longer lifecycle.
And the sells are good.
I think, this year we will get a bit new content over the next month and in 2023 GT Sophy and maybe a VR integration. Could imagine both actually in deep development.
So I think, they are in working of GT7 intensivly.

No we can't. It's going to be the same as the others and there's no indication otherwise.

Wrong, officially said Sophy will come in future update of GT7.
