I have sent a tweet to Yamauchi giving him my congratulations about the awards in GamesCom, and he have replied me this:
本当!! 知らなかった!!RT @SSJNeBiRoS: @Kaz_Yamauchi Congratulations on the award of the gamescom for the best console game and best game overall.
Is he saying that he didn't know??

Ok, is this the official Kaz-tweet translation thread?

He's been tweeting a bunch of stuff over the past hour or so, but its all in JPN.

I tried trawling through with Google translate.

This image was referenced in a post about the grape name / player IDs.
(it's a tad slow)

It seems Kaz regrets having to cut out the Contrade's flags / emblems, given they are a beautiful part of Siena's history.

This has probably already been mentioned somehwere...?

It seems Kaz regrets having to cut out the Contrade's flags / emblems, given they are a beautiful part of Siena's history.

You're probably referring to this? I tried google translate, but the translation I'm getting is rather strange, so maybe someone can give a better one:

Kaz_Yamauchi: 削るのは一瞬で出来ますが、古都シエナの美しい風景の一部になっている各街区の旗は色鮮やかで美しい。削ってしまうのは少し残念ですね・・・。RT @750D: @Kaz_Yamauchi 旗を無断で使ったから問題になってるとかネットで見ましたが、発売日には支障出ないですよね?

Seems someone asked if the flags at the track would delay the game. Kaz seems to be saying that sadly, the flags at the moment must go.

So probably he doesn't want to go through trouble that could delay the game and he will just remove the flags. So in one way that should comfort everyone that the game will not be pushed back because of this 👍

Whew! Thats good news.

>This is an annotated image that has been uploaded to the internet [image]
As it's a mock-up image sample there are various things out of place. For example the user IDs are all wine brand names.

All is working correctly, so don't worry.

> Thanks for your time. I am so relieved. I've reserved [my copy of] GT5 and I'm looking forward into it.
Sorry for keeping you worried. It would have been probably better to capture live [instead of making mock-ups] with some more help the current status of the online [functionalities].

It would take an instant to remove it, but the flags in all blocks part of the lovely scenery of the historical center of Siena are so colored and beautiful. I'm a bit disappointed that they have to be removed.

It takes an instant to notice it: the flags in all blocks part of the lovely scenery of the historical center of Siena are so colored and beautiful. I'm a bit disappointed that it's so noticeable...

Thanks for the translation. So he's not actually commenting on the fact that it might delay the release or not...:guilty:

Screw the Contradas lets get some GTP flags in there!

:gtplanet: :gtpflag:

Or they could redesign them to look like them but not actually use any copyrighted material.

I seriously doubt that the flags will affect the release date. It would take 15 minutes to modify them so that they can't be related to the real ones in any way.

Thanks again for your translation, SHIRAKAWA Akira. 👍

I guess this means he might want to enter discussions about keeping the Contrade's emblems, since he seems to like them? Clearly, he would not want this trivial (practically speaking) matter delaying the game, but I imagine he'd want to push to "get his own way" ?

I'm not sure this is a translation as much as a speculation.

Makes sense anyway.

It's not a translation, it's my opinion on the matter.

EDITED:
Eww. noticed just now that I made a noob mistake and mistook 削る for 判る because I wasn't paying attention.
So yes, Yamauchi said that it would take an instant to remove the flag.
And no, I'm not japanese, I just happen to know some japanese language, enough to understsand much of it on the fly, but sometimes I make stupid errors...

I would imagine him saying that he will take out the flags, and maybe try to bring them round to the idea of leaving the emblems in. It could work, if they want "almost" free publicity for their small part of the world I couldn't imagine anything better than having it in there "considering how many people will actually buy the game - a potential of millions".

Taken from Kaz's tweets. (retweet)

That edited picture is not from Kaz or PD by the way, someone edited and posted it on Kaz's twitter asking for a explaination of the oddities.
