[Too Long ; Didn't Read It] - PD, and their staff have some very pressing matters to deal with, so do Japan. Give them some time to re-organize, let off with the questions and order will be restored. When the time comes PD and Kaz will be able to direct full attention to GT%, however at the moment almost all of Japan is unable to continue regular life as of now.

I believe there is a correct time to ask questions such as when is there a new patch coming. However given the circumstances of the previous days actions and the ongoing reconstruction and damage assessment, I would expect Polyphony to be conducting insurance claims, making sure their office is intact, backing up valuable files and more importantly dealing with personal issues. In a time like such, it is unreasonable for us to expect Kaz and his team to know when and what will be in the next patch.

Surely once the situation calms down, they can get down to business again and answer your questions.

Yeah, I'm talking about the patch and it's completely normal. Just like business' are wondering how it's going to affect them, people wonder about what affects them directly.

He's not wishing ill on the Japanese, he's not demanding he get his patch regardless of events. He's just wondering if it's going to be delayed.

Seems to be stupidity by your side. Sorry, if it is new for you. But it isn´t normal to think of getting patches at the same times when people are dying in Japan.

Do you have any idea, how uninteresting game patches are in relationship to the whole gaming business and far more important to human lifes?

Patches are uninteresting now and it shows no respect to ask for them, while people suffer tragedies in that country.

Not this time for sure but anyway. It's a question.

It's too way too soon for them to concerned with something as trivial as GT patches/updates when their country is left in devastation. I'm sure they'll get back to work but come on, there are much bigger concerns for them to address. Don't mean to guilt trap you but I saw enough ignorant comments and even people making jokes out of the earthquake that link with GT5. People can say it's a joke, it's genuine question on their minds, but not at this time and especially not while they're still experiencing after shocks and threat of nuclear radiation leaking.

Everyone just needs to chill out with the GT5 stuff. Kaz will be back to working on GT when the time is rigth. People need to have some patience and learn to be a little more sympathetic...seriously not cool and i'm certain he does not appreciate reading stuff like this

I feel PD and Kaz should be given an indefinite pause from bothering with anything involving a video game, considering what they are dealing with. Things are a little different now.

:love and vibes for all of those in Japan:

Can you ask Kaz guys if there will be any "Spec" updates for GT5? (with tracks and cars). Not just patches.

I would have to believe he is more concerned about friends, family, colleagues, leadership, and fellow countrymen.

Just go to twitter.com, sign up, and send @kaz_yamauchi a Tweet yourself.

What? No news paper or TV? How the hack can you be up to date or participate in the world?

Perfectly.:)
Seriously.I'm a professional musician and we are preparing for the show, so I have nor time nor interest in TV.Of cource now I know all about earthquake in Tokyo, but at the time I've asking that question I don't know about it.

Anyway I have my own world of interests and TV or Newspappers not there (because they are lying all the time) and I'm totally happy with it.

Not to sound cold hearted, but the quake and Tsunami only affected the northern part of Japan, not the entire country. It's not like every building in Japan was flattened. This is a terrible tragedy with a triple punch of quake, tsunami, and meltdowns of the reactors but keep it in perspective. Go take a look at all of the natural disasters of the recent years and you'll find that even a horrible figure like 10,000 people killed does not even begin to compare to Haiti or Indonesia. Not to mention that Japan is a rich country with a stable government. They will recover and believe it or not, their economy will be even stronger than it was. Meanwhile, the poorer countries like Haiti still have people starving and living in tents over a year later.

It is terrible, no doubt and I mourn those lost. I have always held a deep respect for the Japanese culture and the people, but this is not the worst the world has ever seen and there will be even worse eventually.

^ Have to agree. Glad PD escaped the earthquake, although I feel terribly sorry for all the lives lost:(

Anyways, once they get back up and running, someone should post them a link to this thread

Sad news, assuming google translator got it close to right.

Wait... what? :scared:

There are rolling blackouts throughout Japan at the moment. Factories are not running. Is it a surprise to anybody that the japanese servers are down? They do have other things on their minds at the moment.

Global GT5 hosting services in North America online will continue
(presumably everywhere outside of Japanese asia will also stay online).

Gran-turismo.com servers in Japan will be stopped.
Studio servers are shut down, most of the Polyphony Digital light is gone (Most likely referring about the power).

Kaz thought it was worth mentioning. As did I.

I think, you are wrong informated. This disaster affected the whole country, mostly the middle and north of Japan. Nearly the complete infrastructure is damaged, a high number of electricity capacity is not available, which effects most factories and companies.

But mostly, the radioactivity is the biggest problem at the moment. It gets higher and nobody knows, where it ends.

For you, it isn´t the biggest catastrophy because there are maybe just 10 000 deaths (sorry, if it sounds rediculious) and not 300 000 like in Indonesia. But the strength of an catatrophy does not depend on the number of deaths, but how it affects the country and so Japan is one of the most developed and most influential countries in the world, this natural disaster starts to exceed others, just because the economic system cannot continue as it was. And economic system is (sadly) more weighted than human lifes.

I think you have no idea what you're talking about. North Japan is obviously pretty devastated. Tokyo and surrounding areas are getting rolling blackouts because of power shortages. Osaka (about the middle of the country) and further south life goes on as normal, apart from the volcano that started up but that's another story.

I live in Osaka. We have no damage here, trust me.

I said nothing about damage in the south, but that the infrastructure and electricity capacity effects the whole country.

No matter what, it IS a terrible tragedy and perhaps a point we should drop. I should not have said anything in the first place. My only defense is I was tired.

If you got a heavy rain and your basement took just an inch of water, you might be 'ok' and 'uninjured', but you'd have very pressing matters on your hands, and things to do that need your attention immediately.

Japan got utterly socked by the worst that nature has to offer, so let's keep our 'needs' (if they can even be called needs) in perspective. Their needs are several billion times more important right now, and will be for some time.

It does not. Osaka has no rolling blackouts or anything to suggest limited power capacity, and I doubt that anywhere south of here does either. The highways are not broken here. There are no food or fuel shortages in Osaka.

Part of the country is devastated. But people need to stop acting like the whole archipelago sank into the ocean. There's a majority of Japan that was essentially unaffected by this apart from it being a shocking tragedy striking really close to home.

Don't mean to go off topic but was any of the earthquake felt in Osaka?

It had to have been. We had a 4.7 here in Indiana recently and that's nothing. I felt it halfway across the state. They certainly must have at least felt it.

Very much so. Everything shook for a good minute or so, or at least that's what it felt like. But nothing fell off the shelves, I haven't seen any broken windows or anything. It was just a big tremor here. Nothing like what you see in the Tokyo footage.

If PD were in Osaka, they'd probably be going about their business today. As it is, I doubt they'll be doing any work for the next month or so. I'm wondering where exactly the Japanese PSN and GT5 servers are located, probably Tokyo. Not exactly a high priority at the moment for people, computer gaming. Then again, people in Tokyo could probably do with a bit of light relief to take their minds off what's going on a couple of hours up the road.

Seems like there will be no updates this month, as expected:

I want to do this month is a lot like an impossible one. RT @ Cba_Grb : @ Kaz_Yamauchi How do I update this month?

Just take all the time you need, Kaz.
