I only get about 17 in the Talon... 10 is bad though.

Doesn't look half bad, Keef. White looks good. Interior looks clean.

Rattles are a fixture on any early 90's car. I have many (I haven't taken to naming them yet, but I know when to expect them... RPM, certain speeds, bumps, etc). Just get a louder exhaust, or turn up the music. Drown the buggers out.

You don't really lose that much efficiency beating the tar out of it though... Keep at it. :P
I actually gain efficiency. Remember, rotaries' compression ratio increases with rpm.

Header? Test pipe(s)? This?...

Yeah, the GTI is rated at 21/30, and I manage 15-17 in the city and 21 combined. 10 is awful for such a light car with such a tiny engine though.

It's really not that tiny considering how often it lights off 1.3L of air and fuel. ;)

Where are the revs during normal driving though? Do they really get up to maybe 4000 rpms for somebody who isn't a lead foot? I knew they were revvy but didn't think they'd be that revvy.

No no no...

It's just that for a given RPM they're lighting off the total displacement much more often than a normal 4-stroke.

Car looks great Keef 👍 The colour suits it too, and it looks pretty clean. I'm not a fan of that shape of RX-7 but you've definitely got a nice one.

No. Just get an LS instead. You'll double your horsepower, torque, and fuel economy all at once.

I made the same gas mileage...

...In my 43 year old 4.5 liter V8 with a badly working crappy two barrel carb.

I have a friend that makes about the same gas mileage in his Challenger with a 340 and 750 cfm carb

I hate V8 swaps, but even I'd make the change. Good luck with it anyway keef, on the list of Japanese cars that I'd actually want to own, an FC is almost at the top.

All of the above.

Header to straight pipe. That is all
(Okay, a muffler too. And mabye a resonator tossed in there somewhere, possibly in the place of a cat to trick any inspections if needed)

Look at this. Apparently this is the stock exhaust for a Turbo 2 compared with the Racing beat exhaust for that car. The stock one has a cat, presilencer, and two mufflers at the rear, while the Racing Beat just gets rid of the cat and uses smaller mufflers, basically.

And this is what it sounds like on an NA car:

Yeah. Pretty sure I won't be able to get away with a Spec 2.

Awesome sound. Doesnt sound that loud though. And speaking of backfire, I realized today my car backfires on high rpm deceleration (4000+). Sounded pretty cool :)
Also, single exit exhaust ftw :sly:

LS1!!! Seen them for $1,500 on craigslist w/ wire harness and T-56 @ 60K miles :D!!!

See you gas mileage improve and the tire tread disappear!

Just do it. Swoosh!

Sounds really good for coming out of a fartcan.

I mention the K20 because the K20 will bolt up to the S2000 transmission. So find someone who has F2x swapped an RSX-S. Preferably not a 2006+ Civic Si because of the drive by wire throttle. K20 aftermarket is considerably cheaper.
