Thanks....got me gold by .5 sec

I like a challenge, respect to all the tuners out there but y'all just making it easy, that's why I do all stock cars for career races and seasonals, only sometimes I use slightly tuned cars. I just ran this in a stock X-BOW Street, no oil change, took me about ten trys to get gold but ran a 1:13.861. No need for X-BOW R or Anniversary edition and easy tunes. Stock Cars FTW! Challenge yourselves! 👍
X-BOW Street, 512PP stock ---> you're full of it, dude!

Same here: took me 3 hours to get a 1:13,998 (!), golded by 0,002 seconds and gone away in disgust! :irked:

Being from the country where this car is produced I can tell you it is pronounced "ix-box", nothing to do with a cross-bow!
Dunno why they have chosen that name.
Anyway, once had a great tune for this car which made it real fun to drive, but lost it or messed it up, and I can't find a driveable tune ever since! :banghead:
Austrian or not, the car description says it's pronounced Cross-bow... I doubt PDI would make that big of a mistake!

Bathurst and Streets of Willow yet again, unbelievable. At least it's limited to the Cross-Bow ;) or the GSX/R would have reared it's ugly butt once more.

Is there a pattern to this? Maybe someone could predict what the next tracks will be.

Weird, some freak at no.1 this moment with a 44 sec. lap.If you want to look at the top 10 this event shuts down and main menu opens???

Edit:after returning to the main menu your current car, login bonus and credits are invisible, you have to restart the game to see them again.
Not funny :(

I entered this event this morning to give it a try and WHOAH!:eek::eek: The track conditions were very very BRIGHT SUNLIGHT and SUN GLARE ...........I could barely see the track. No chance of even being able to drive............almost as if there was an atomic bomb flash going off somewhere nearby in the desert (Actually, maybe there was some testing going on nearby ) . Anyone else have this problem?:eek::eek:
No. Check your settings.

I've got that problem as well.. Something fishy going on.:odd:

Who is Chaos_tec0009?

I worked hard to get a 1:12.69 and he's done it under 0:45 already?

I know I'm not great but how is that possible? I went to check his details in the world rankings but got booted back to the home screen (see posts above). How can anyone go round at 0:45? It has to be impossible.

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I also have a quick question about gear ratios listed in the 'tunes'.

I have no problem changing ballast/suspension/brakes or anything else, but when it comes to gears....

I change the top speed/final gear like the tune says, but the individual gear ratios listed are unobtainable. They might say 1st should be 3.1, but mine will only go as low as 3.3 etc. I have never been able to apply gear tunes since I started playing and just wondered what the problem is. Is it because I use a fully Custom' gear box rather then a six speed? Or just plain stupidity?

He is obviously a hacker and has somehow made it impossible for anyone to view the replay.
PD may not be allowing it. It has happened before. They may be in the process of removing his lap data.

You have to add all the correct power parts of tune first, then adjust the final gear if stated above the gears, then top speed, then individual gears in the listed order, and then again the final gear if stated below the gears.

@nowcontrol is exactly right. What I would do, if I were you, is apply everything else in the tune and save the transmission for last. That way you won't run into any problems. If your power settings are off, even just a little bit, it could affect your ability to match the gear ratios listed in the tune. So, I just leave transmission settings for last.

I set a 1:16.134 on this time trial and I'm fine with that time because I'm not going to go for gold. This car is fast around the high speed corners if you could tame it. Someone must of hacked the mess out of it's x bow because the fastest time is 44.659 seconds.

Thanks guys. You are right. I've always gone for maximum power and ignore any lower power settings on the tune. This explains it....

Took out the Anniversary X-Bow. Haven't driven any X-Bows until now. First lap 1:26!! Second lap 1:17. At this point became aware that a tune was needed.

Applied suspension and LSD tuning by praiano63

Set max speed to 200km/h and good to go. Narrow gold on second lap. Can't say that I enjoyd very much. Gold and gone.

Improved my time with the X-Bow after reworking the tune.
I have added the new tune to my previous post 👍.

I used your tune but without the rigidity improvement.

Does it make much difference - time wise?

Also used Brake sensitivity at 40 because I kept getting oversteer whilst coming off the brakes but that's probably more down to my driving style than anything else.

Would like to get into the 09s, like yourself, but seem to be stuck in the mid 10s - I'm finding this car hard to control on the ds3.

Thanks for posting

1:10.60x here. Seems that our friendly challenge starts again, like in Brands Hatch. Hope to find the time this weekend to get under 1:10.

Have you been able to get under 1:10???

I've re-run the TT and I've been able to post a 1:10.358 lap for 94th place:), but going below 1:10 seems too fast for me.:(

Back to the beach!

Nope... A frustrating 1:10.051. Almost.

Keep pushing, mate. Sometimes I surprise myself beating, after some days, times that the early days I thought impossible to beat ;)👍

After spending some time running it with a leftover tune from months ago, got gold. It was very sketchy though, especially as a novice driver using DS3 with plenty of aids. It had 85 75 ride height if that helps track it down?

@praiano63 your tune tames the twitchy character but completely numbs it. Any DS3 users struggling to do valid laps, start with this tune! I also found Active Steering: Mild helped keep me on the track, like the LFA seasonal at Brands Hatch.

Once I got gold myself wanting a bit more bite. Was lonely to watch all those blue lines wander off into the distance every lap. So I adjusted one small thing at a time, coming up with this. (More often than not, putting it back the way it was.)

My Time
1:10.775 currently 194th after 400km.
DS3
Active Steering: Off
TCS: 5 [started with 6, can't quite handle 4 sorry]
ABS: 1
Controller Steering Sensitivity: 5

Stats
580pp
325bhp
48.3kgfm
760kg
40:60 weight distribution

Suspension
Fully Customisable
Ride: 80 80 [saw @SW__10 was running street version level]
Spring: 4.30 9.00
Compression: 9 2 [less extreme than your tune]
Extension: 2 9 [less extreme than your tune]
Anti-roll bars: 4 5
Camber: 0.0 0.0
Toe: -0.22 0.25 [old setup had much smaller numbers, might work for some]
Racing Brake Kit: 7 4 [maximise but avoid orange/red tyres - tune to your style]

Drivetrain
5 5 35
Triple Play Clutch Kit

Power
89.6% [wore out my oil change from new lol, so this is no oil change level]
Sports Computer
Intake Tuning
Broad flat line with 325bhp, tailing off then falls off a cliff. Change gear about 6,500 - maybe earlier.

Body
Ballast: 10kg
Position: -50% [I found this the easiest way to settle the car whilst keeping some rotation beyond the tyre grip]
Normal chassis

Transmission (always do this last)
Fully Customisable Transmission
Max. Speed: 180km/h (all the way left, don't change this again)
Final: 4.980 (will change this again at the end)
1: 2.625 (full left)
2: 2.950 (full left)
3: 1.575 (between left and centre)
4: 1.325 (centre)
5: 1.150 (right of centre)
6: 1.000 (full right)
Final: 3.500 [smaller number if the revs get into the red for you]

Feedback
What do you think? I'm sure there are obvious things to improve for experienced tuners. Such as using the Street Version instead? Trying to get some value from the extra £££ I spent.

Hi mate,
I did the body rigidity improvement without thinking and then tuned the car up :embarrassed:.
I tend to just do the improvement on all cars .
I think I might buy a new X-Bow to check if it makes any difference without :dopey:.

The oversteer I like, so I can get good rotation on the sweeping right and power away.
I manage it elsewhere with some overlay of brake and Acc. 👍
With L2/R2 as Brake and Acc on the DS3, I used to get the same overlay going on to get similar results.

Keep pushing! You will get in the 09's 👍.

Great job @nicokin89

I'm happy my tune is helping out!

I made a quick run today and finished with a 1:09.6xx. Thanks to @SW__10 for his awesome tune. I'm still in the haunt for @ODB's amazing time. Well done mate!
Yeah, absolutely great tune! I think there's pretty much all the control and grip you can ask from a damn powerful high turbo car on sport tires on the streets of willow :scared:

And don't worry, you have plenty of time catching me
