La Sarthe and Spa ,weather report and other " stuff "

Yesterday as @kjb suggest i took Suzuki VGT gr3 at the track .
Light car , very high rev's but i didn't " enjoy " it to be honest.
The car has the habit to spin the rear end very much and when tain caught me out on wrong tyres i made the slowest lap ever to get back at the pits , over 7 minutes !!!!!
He can pull out 3 laps at FM 6 ( almost) in AT gears due to high rev's that keep gears to much on the limit before change.
On MT gears things are better and probably you can go a bit faster if you use them right.

FM1 and FM6 doesn't make much of a difference in performance as happens with other cars .
Did 2 messy races with rain and heavy rain but while it was dry , nothing encourage me to go farther on this car anyway.

All in all i found that its difficult car to control especially in wet conditions and the performance doesn't " hide " something spectacular from other cars in his class.
Fast laps at FM6 perhaps are moving around 4.10 but didn't have the pleasure to find out .
Perhaps putting the ballast in the rear instead of front ( 40 kilos) that i put it could make things a bit better .
Also tyre wear on intermediate tyres was very high as track was drying out.

If someone asked my opinion about this one ,i would say that is a " ticket" to spin city .
MT gears , short shifting is the only way to go on safe side , till rain starts of course and starts the " crawl " to survive 😂
That's from me about it , may other opinions are different but the " core " remains the same....... " hardcore " car.

I'm sorry it didn't work out to well for you. I see you don't like cars with the lively rear ends. Those are my favorites. Next time I recommend a car it will be something a little more stable. I do agree if you get caught that n the rain it can be a beast.

There's nothing to feel sorry for , you made a suggestion and i follow, that's all.
It might have a " live " rear end but isn't without cost anyway.
It's difficult on rain , even with wet tyres , fuel consumption isn't his strong point , and rear end doesn't help if you " squeeze " it for something more on lap times .
It might be pleasant in wheel users that are able to control better the slides ,but on controller and with only buttons use as i am , is not pleasant at all.
And because is very light , i think that there's no antidote to fix it through the suspension settings.
I think there is a swap with that engine also , don't remember what exactly car is now , but if gears perform the same way ( only very high rev's changing) probably you loose time again using AT gearing.

I use a controller as well but I use the right stick for gas and brake. Are you using the L2 & R2 for gas/brake?

Nope , just buttons and .......stop laughing cause i see you 😂
Thanks for the info. I was going to recommend the MR2 but it can be squirrelly as well. I have like 7 of them. I like that car just a wee bit. Anyway I have used both the swapped and no swapped versions. The swapped of course is faster but not as good fuel economy. But good car for you try would be Alfa 155 if you haven't used it before

I have use Alfa 2-3 times before , was one of my favourite cars back in gt6 spinning all four wheels at Grand Valley .
I might give a try to MR2 since i never ride it .
Can he pull out 3 laps at FM6 or need coasting ?
The Suzuki had excessive spinning in the rear ,i don't think MR2 is the same but you know better.

The non swapped MR2 can get like 4-5 laps on FM6 and the swapped version gets 3 laps on FM6. If you tune the MR2 it shouldn't be too squirrelly in the rear. If you can use Mid-engine rear drive cars then the MR2 won't be a problem. I would definitely do the wide body on it as it is a narrow car. But it is definitely one of my favorite cars in the GT series. It is always one of the first cars I buy.

Not laughing at you dude but laughing with you 🤣 Unless of course you're not laughing then I am laughing at you:lol:
Just equip the MR2 for the race right now .
I throw everything on it , follow a tune from praiano to test it and ill be back later with my impressions.

Hope for some dry weather but what the hell, ill ride it again if i like it.
Today am gonna post and the monthly weather report.

Audi R18 2011'

Great P1 Race car 1 of my favorites for this race.👍

Handling is great and responsive.
Brakes are 10/10
4 Laps on FM1.
More laps on higher FM.
Downside top speed is only around 155 with the RH setup.

Weather -

Rain enough for IM on laps 3-4
No lap 7.

I have 2 setups with this car.

RH Tires and IM Tires.

On IM tires you can get 3 laps before they die.

RH SETUP.

All cars in this group have huge downforce that help them a lot to maintain speed especially on the last part of this track.
Also due to that and having very low hp from what suppose to have , helps a lot on tyre wear and even if tyres are almost fully red , doesn't affect the handling so much as happens with other car.
That allows to put intermediate tyres all the way and minimise hp loss from RH tyres use.
Unfortunately top speed is usually limited around 250 khm ,more or less and usually doesn't have significant difference from FM6 to FM1 .
Since i have race them all there , i think the best of them is Peugeot 908 Fap .
The " faster " way to run them is using FM1 and do one stop for fresh tyres and fuel .

Of course LM 55 is at the top of the list ( i think you discovered this one ) of cars that use intermediate tyres and are fast ( short of always ) .

I don't know if any of you try the new Lexus LFA but is a hell of a car and very pleasant to drive.
Did only one race in stock settings at 683pp adding only some parts no weight reduction.

The car is awesome, only black part the fuel consumption that couldn't catch 3 laps .
Perhaps lowering the weight and with less hp can reach the 3 lap aera in FM6.
Just race once with rain weather but definitely ill try more times .

I did it was the first thing I did after the update but got mad when I saw it could barely reach 3 laps.

But like you say maybe reduction the weight and hp down to 500hp?

@praiano63 made a brand new tune yesterday that has done all the weight reduction in LFA .
I think is about 530 hp ( or close ) with all that ,but ......but he was ecstatic with the car and the driving pleasure he offers.
Didn't had the time to test his settings first and second i wanted to tun it stock for first time .
All in all am thinking that we will find a solution 👍

I run yesterday the 400R stock settings with adding the usual parts.
Not bad , good fuel consumption( 3 laps) and heavy body roll.
I also set the new Porsche and was the first time i quit so early from the race , its damn slow and a weird lock up in brakes occurs under heavy braking and i don't know why .
While i run this one on weekly races stock , here has that problem , anyway was quite bad impression and i quit from race .
I also think that his fuel consumption is as terrible as he rides.

Funny, I too use controller and had no issues with the new Porsche at LeMans except a 2 lap at FM6 issue...no problems with lockup on brakes.

Le man what's that.

With the fun of daytona right now it'll be a while before I'm back to le man.

Also smoothbore12 have you try the dodge demon?

Not yet mate .

EDIT
Just did one run but i use weight reduction to lower the hp.
No need to mention that is a 2 lap car....
Verdict:
This car is only good for drift purposes, the rear end steers the car usually and not the steering wheel 😂

I forgot to mention that nismo 400R has huge tyre wear in front end the two times i use it ,
Thats all right now .

@jrbabbitt , ill give the Porsche another chance just to take a vid from it .
