I've won this race with the Audi a couple times and I now see a 2J for sale in the used lot. Is this car worth 14mil?

Tough question.

On the one hand, it can pay for itself many times over with the Le Sarthe event, and can make you a quick million in the Spa (wet) Time Trial, but it's really not very much fun to drive, and if you've already won the classic race series in A-spec and B-spec, there's not all that much use for it.

I honestly hadn't dusted mine off in nearly a year until this latest couple rounds of events, so not really "worth" the $14 mil.

On the other hand, sometimes it's just a cool car to have, so it's "worth" whatever it's worth TO YOU. At a certain point, you start piling up so much money that you HAVE TO spend it somewhere, so why not? I just bought another classic GT40, even though I've got three 0-mile examples already. Something about that car calls to me... :)

Thanks Kwicko. It's just so damn ugly I hate to have it in the same garage as the vintage jags, fords and Ferraris :)

I know; I always have this feeling it's being driven by Commander Pike.

Funny! Ok I bought it and glad I did just for the cool aspect of driving without lights. F U N! That is how the bootleggers (first NASCAR drivers) out ran the cops back in the day. Seems a bit unfair not having to pit but oh well.

Hey,
I recently did this with a borrowed 2j. Although yesterday I purchased an r8 race car 01. Is it possible for me to do it with that.
Bobs= 33,30,28,24

I think this Audi is as fast as the 05 Audi but not as stable (imo) but if you carefully guide your best 2 Bob's (arrows up) and always pace down entering Mulsanne corner, otherwise he will find the dirt and that is a race killer. Maybe use the set up/strategy listed here for the 05 and keep your Bob's cool.

Thanks. I have the 05 as well but I thought the 01 was better?
Also can it be done with the xjr 9 lm?

I don't have the xjr 9. I'll have to give the 01 another go around now that I 'know' how to win.

The '01 and '05 Audis can both do it. I haven't heard of anyone pulling it off with the Jag, though.

Yup, that's its unfair advantage.

After winning with the Audi R8 Team PS Oreca '05, I wanted to try it with the 2J. I finally saw one in my UCD, so I picked it up, slapped a turbo on it, and finished the race in 39:53. The second-place car, R8 '01, finished at least 245 seconds behind.

If anyone needs to borrow a 2J or R8 '05 set up for this race, I'm now sharing both.

Been battling with this for ages and getting nowhere. Used the 2J and the strategy suggested by DCSemi on the first page and sailed though it with a level 22 bob. 0 physical and mental strength by around lap 6 and he was sitting fighting for 6th, though it wasn't going to happen but he managed 5th place around lap 9 and then passed them all when they sat in the pits.

Boosted him to level 29 too which is nice.

I ran with the BMW V12 LMR
first bob is aggressive'
second is neither aggressive or cool (in the middle)

full tuned = 718pp so less tuning down required = more hp

started with aggro on racing hards, pit lap 2 end and ran cool bob on racing intermediates and pushed him to the limit until lap 7 end, i then put aggro bob back in on intermediates and kept at middle pace and won by 20 seconds first try.

both drivers were in middle 20s for class.

pushed aggro bob quite hard for position, and cool bob kept just behind the leader for ages with frequent pushing, and i ended up passing when the leader pit on lap 9

Thanks. I have the 05 as well but I thought the 01 was better?

Tried the 01 but couldn't get it done. got 2nd, 12 secs behind the other 01. Had some idiot Bobs blocking me in the first 2 laps so will try again. I was watching the tire wear on the leaders from lap 3-8 and the Pescarolos cannot hold rubber. That is why we are always passing them in later laps.

update: got it done second time around. avoided the clowns on the first 2 laps. I always pit at the top of the ninth trailing by just 10 secs or so and when the leaders are coming out of the pits on the 10th they are chasing me.

Finally did this with a car in my garage! The '04 Pescarolo Judd started on SS, pitted on lap 5 for inters and just made it to the end of lap 10 with me telling Bob to slow down once I saw the other guys ducking in at the start of the last lap to preserve the tyres (it worked, said I had no rears left coming up to the chicanes at the very end of lap 10).

I think he won by around 10 seconds and the race was about 40 and a half minutes.

Does anyone have an advanced set up for the v12 lmr?

My drivers level is 34, and I use the C60 Hybride, and no matter how hard I push my driver, he still finishes in 7th place. I also have the Audi R8, but it didn't do so well. Lately I've been doing the 4 Hour Njurburing Endeurance race and gaining 1,200,000XP which levels up my drivers in 1 turn.

Managed to win this event on my 3rd try yesterday. Car I used was a Audi R8 PlayStation, engine tuned to about 700ish HP with max downforce (with the spoiler changed as well, to get even more rear downforce!). My driver (S.Vettel, level 40) managed to win the race by over 7 seconds lol. Only pitted once about lap 3/4 and swapped to Race Intermediates. (started on Race Hard) Was stuck in 4th right up until the last lap when everyone had to pit, and I had to tell my driver to take it easy as the tires were almost worn out and the drive itself had very little strength left!

My advice is, just don't push your B-spec driver too hard. I think you can do the entire race with one driver and only one pit stop, but that depends on the driver level and car setup as well. Car setup wise, try to have as much downforce and enough HP to make it to 700PP limit. The added downforce will come in handy when the track gets slippy. Also I do advice to really take none when your driver is coming down the Mulsanne straight. If you don't advice your driver to slow down he will overshoot Mulsanne and somehow have that weird glitch when the car is crawling when it goes off and come back on the track. That lost me a lot of time during my previous 2 tries. :ouch:

With update 2.03 it is said to increase the 2J PP based on the extra downforce the fan provides. Does this mean it's no longer a good 'trollcar'?

Did it again last night with the 2J no Sports Softs, using L19 and L31 Bobs. It was fairly close, though, as the second place Audi R8 finished less than 7 seconds behind me, and he was gaining fast at the time! Had this been an 11-lap race, I wouldn't have won it. :)

( NOTE: I ran two drivers to level up the L19 guy, which means I had to have one pit stop. Normally with the SS tires, you don't pit at all. )

I'm surprised ppl have such a problem wining this event, easiest 6MLN Cr. ever - all you need to do is to use an LMP/Group C car with over 1000BHP and turn down the downforce to fit in PP (because Bobs don't need downforce as they break so early and accelerate so late in every single corner anyways). I won it with Bobs at just 28 and 29 level with ease in the first try, using Toyota Minolta. At the beginning of the 4th lap I was already 2nd, and half lap later 1st place, like I said - easy money.

What was your setup?

1040HP, lowest possible downforce, top speed set to 410kph, the rest setups were stock.

Racing Hard, as required. Then after 2nd and 8th lap changed them to Racing Intermediate.

EDIT:
410kpm would be ~255mph.

This is by far the hardest Seasonal or B-spec race I have played. Just managed the win there after coming close a few times. My car: R8 Race Car (Playstation Team ORECA)`05 was tuned completely (thanks BermudaKid) and then limited to 700PP. Used my tried and trusted lvl 40 bob and he was flawless for once!

I Started with Hard Race tyres. Pitted after 4th lap for Intermediates when rain was over 30%. Then just rode it out to the end with no stops or mistakes! All the AI pitted at lap 9 and i boosted into 1st and hung on with thin rubber. The AI's R8 was closing damn fast and i beat it by a few noses to get the 6 million large. Well chuffed and pretty happy with the lvl 23 prize car !
