Cool, I remember doing some work for Robin Hood cars a long time back! It was the first I'd heard of them and was amazed at how cheap they were... I guess your comments explain quite a lot...:D

Was that also your pink MR2 in the background? :sly:

Wow, no way! What did you end up doing for them? To my knowledge the whole company was about 12 people when it was at its biggest :P. It wasn't that bad, I could only afford a dog was the problem! The fact it was all stainless steel meant it always buffed up quite well and rust was obviously never an issue.

@BrandonW77 I can't believe one of those things exists in the states :boggled: don't you guys have road-laws that pretty much make kit-cars illegal? Or does that guy just use his as a track machine? Looks awesome :D!

I think it is different for every state. Most Midewest states make most illegal but im pretty sure California has very little restrictions. Oh how i hate Chicago.

I've never seen one on the road and this guy trailers his to the events. Kit cars can get around some rules/laws that normal cars have to abide by but there are certain restrictions they can't overcome. I'm not real familiar with the laws regarding these kinds of things, but getting a car on the road legally in this country is harder than in most (and it varies from state to state).

What about if it's road legal in one state ... can you drive it into another?

Nothing to get excited about, i used to work at an aluminium extrusion plant as a design engineer and we had some section to produce for them. Probably chassis or sub frame stuff.

The cool one though was producing some chassis members for Aston Martin, and getting a free tour of their plant as a bonus!! :)) Mind you its only 10 mins from where i live and have been there several times now.

Haha that's brilliant! So you designed a bit on an Aston Hobbsy :sly:?

^ I wish Brandon ;) ^

@MatheusBond I wouldn't get too hung up on it, I wish I was in your position now..., there are a lot of things I would like to do differently had I the chance.

and as for working with automotive, that is long behind me now. I now work for a Landry company, designing monorail systems... and not a car in sight!!! Well except for hire cars, which incidentally ARE the fastest cars IN THE WORLD 👍

I had the chance to work in automotive, but was not too excited about working on a very particular part of the vehicle and nothing else!

I tried to break into the automotive world with engine development (specifically diesel), I soon realised it was an unbelievably contested field, especially for individuals such as myself with no discernible talent to distinguish them from the field and a CV void of much experience. I have a friend who works as a calibration engineer for a motorcycle firm, he maps engines all day ... wish I had his job :indiff:.

I just been flicking through some old documents, and found that I DO have my name on an ASTON MARTIN...!

Kudos points for anyone who can find it...👍

Give you a clue, if you can find the warning given... i would be even closer if they didn't listen (but i'm not on the wheel)!!!

my name is not in this shot, but only just!

EDIT... Just found a little gem to treat you with, should you find my name!!! ;)

It's official, this is now THE most bandwidth consuming thread on the internet *applause*.

:lol::lol: You wait until the next one!!!... need to find my name first though, another clue or two.
Its written in dark(er) blue, and quite small, its also a bit of a scrawl!

"Hobbsy 2013"

Good luck 👍

Hooray.... Well done Brandon, and your reward is this...

First sound is the car on the far right, cannot remember which model :boggled:, second is the V12 Zagato :D
Use speakers if you got em, turn it up and Enjoy.
