I thought I was quite fast with my time but it turns out that my brother has been doing some offline time trial in his Elise to see how he competes. Currently his best time stands at 1:08.903, I think this is also quite fast. However, this time was set offline. So as the conspiracy theory goes, the psychics are different allowing him to get a slightly faster time.

I'm still going to try and beat it! How is everyone else faring?

I dont know what you people are doing. My fastest time is around 1:13 and im running low 1:15's consistently. Im also learning to use the right stick as a throttle control, I think that may have something to do with it.

We all know that this track is dangerously slippery (I think due to the changes in height and maybe the lack of sun on the track makes it colder? I am not sure if GT5 is this realistic) so hitting a decent time is so hard!!

I practiced in my lounge last night and was running around 12's to 13's. Going to do some more practice and tweak some more settings to try and knock it down a little more.

if any one wants to do some practice with me inv to on psn and join me i will on till about 11:00 uk time

if any one want to come and practice on deep forest i am in a lobby inv me on psn and your welcome to come and race

just got a 1.09.166

No surprises but I have been doing a little bit more practice! I also, for the first time, have changed the oil, rebuilt the engine and improved the rigidity of my car!

So yeah, the practising has been going quite well, and congratulations on beating my 1:09.232, Seven. But you'll have to get back out there because my new personal best is 1:08.301! I'm slightly competitive, so when I read that you'd beaten my time I decided that I wouldn't stop until I'd given you a real challenge!

SUGGESTION

Would it be possible to Edit the original Post on page one with the time and date of the races (if known), as searching back through every page for the right bit of info, for each weeks race is a tad tricky ;)

Deep Forest... sounds like a 70's porn flick

I agree with this. It does seem like this thread has been somewhat neglected since the very first race, I'd be happy to do some maintenance but unfortunately I can not edit the posts!

Got a 1'10.777 in the practice room today, so there seems to be hope :sly:

Well... I've not practiced much and have only managed a 1:13 so... LOL :indiff:

I'm still at practice and I have taken a tiny little bit off my best time. I'm now down to 1:08.299! I'm sure I could get it down a fraction more but I'm hoping that a high 1:08 will get me a good position in qualifying!

Now I have been doing some 'in race' practice with Seven, after catching some slipstream along the main straight I managed to get a new personal best of 1:08.114!

I think I am just about at my limit now, there are a few places here and there that I could possibly find a few milliseconds but I'm not really bothered. Bring on the race!

Bloody show off lol

I'm taking myself out of this series. Good luck to everyone though!

I'm having trouble making this race every weekend. I'd still like to race when i can make it, however if you want to give my spot up to someone else i'd understand.

What a race.
Good start, Got into 1st but due to a bad gear ratio set up I lost speed on the straight. Finally ended up in 3rd again, and a feirce battle began for 3rd place between me, GTP_OnlyMe and the_xereff but GTP_OnlyMe. Esprit dived into the pits and now I was in 2nd. A few laps later OnlyMe and myself were still at it, but I slipped into the pits on the 17th lap and OnlyMe stayed out. I prayed for my strategy to reward me as Esprit had pitted and was now on fresh rubber so I had to be if I wanted to catch up.

I finally pulled away from the rest, giving it my all to catch Esprit who had spun. On the penultimate lap I had spun, leaving GTP_OnlyMe to take 3rd. I set out to catch him again, and was closing in, but within the 2nd sector I spun again. This caused the_xeriff to hit into me and give me a boost back up to speed, but I let xeriff through to 4th. I was now 5th but hot on xeriff's heel. Unfortunatly, a third spun followed. I was now 5th and the race ended that way..

Final Result:
1. Bakugekiki
2. TeamLotus_Esprit/Seven (15 laps each via same PS3)
3. GTP_OnlyMe
4. the_xeriff
5.TeamLotus_Europa
6. torzilla

Next week we are racing at Suzuka. Bring your wet tires because weather is set to variable!!

I started in 2nd place on the grid.

After the first corner i was first and me, bakugekiki, jake were having a good fight for a few laps. Then me and bakugekiki started to pull away and we were having a good fight, and this increased our speed. But then i had to pit and then my brother (TeamLotus_Seven) took over for the next 15 laps because he kept dcing. He started the stint well but then he cough the grass and spun and wrecked the tyres. So he could not defend of bakugekiki. By lap 27 his tyres were un-drivealble and he spun again, but he managed to bring it home in 2nd place. And well done to Bakugekiki for winning his second race in a row.

Yey! Another victory for me! It looked uncertain that I'd win when Esprit pulled out his personal best time in qualifying, and it still looked uncertain as we spent the first fifteen laps battling for position. As Esprit pulled over for his mandatory pit stop on the fifteenth lap I thought that I was in for a chance; my tyres were still relatively good so decided to make up some time before I pitted myself. I got my lead up to 25 seconds when I decided to pit at the end of the nineteenth lap.

I watched my lead diminish and I left the pits 3 seconds adrift of Esprit. A number of laps passed as I brought his lead down until he made a race changing mistake. He spun on the last corner of the 27th lap, I passed and went on to win by a healthy 30 seconds!

A great race, can't wait until the next one.

Hi guys. Bit of a chaotic start with all the connection problems. Luckily most of us were patient, and eventually we got underway.

From my 3rd place on the grid, I made a decent start and hung on for about half a lap. It was instantly clear though, that both Bakugekiki and _Esprit were gonna be too fast for me. Pushing too hard on cold tires and the heat from the guys behind me, caused me to make a few mistakes and loose a few places. So in lap 2 I settled down mid pack, what seems to be my natural habitat.

In the middle I had a fierce fight with the_xeriff. We were both about equal in pace and we were on each others skin switching places over 3 or 4 laps. This brought us back to _Europa who overtook us a couple of laps before.

From now on I'm gonna have to guess a little, because to be honest I don't remember every detail :)

I believe that xeriff made a mistake at some point, leaving my able to finally breath a little and concentrate on _Europa. By this time we were just past the halfway point (lap 16-17) and _Europa was really struggling with his tires, but still fast enough for me not to pass him. He pitted and I deliberatly stayed out, knowing that if I could get another 4 or so laps in, I would have fresher tires than him if I were to find him again at the end of the race.

A couple of laps later I pitted and as expected _Europa passed me during my pitstop. I came back on track right in front of xeriff. I could've kept my pace and closed the door in the first corner, but I knew I would never hold him off with ice cold tires, so I let him by. This was the start of a second fierce battle just like in the first part of the race. Again we were battling our way back to _Europa.

Getting to the last 5 or so laps, I thought I wasn't gonna catch xeriff who was doing a good job preventing me from getting past. But suddenly, just before the tunnel he seemed to have a brutal lag-incident. One moment he was right in front of me, and the next moment he was on the left in the dirt for no obvious reason  Very sorry for xeriff, but that's PS3-racing I suppose :nervous:

This left my quiet happily in 4th, the same position I had on the previous 2 races. I was catching up to _Europa though. I remembered that he had tire-troubles at the middle of the race, so I thought he might have the same poblem at the end. And I think I was right, because in lap 28 I saw his arrow spin, gifting me 3rd.

I had a scary moment in lap 29 (put my car in the wall on the straight), but luckily _Europa now had his hands full with xeriff, so I managed to keep 3rd. Very glad with my first podium :)

I now read that _Esprit shared the race with _Seven. I can understand the brothers desicion, but I raises an interesting question: As they finished 2nd, do they share points for that as well, both receiving half the amount? Or do they both get full points, even they only drove half the race?...
