And it goes SOOOOO hard, my god. I have a lot of crashing to do in that car, that's for sure .

Fixed.
Legendary you seem to be getting very ahead of yourself, and don't think you'll be able to control yourself and not drive like a maniac, it happens to all of us men and we all go over the top. Having something that powerful that early will more than likely lead to crash.

I dunno, Legendary seems pretty responsible, I know heaps of people in NZ that had faster cars really early on in their driving history..

Cool car man I say go for it.

Im not an idiot, if it was going to happen I'd be dead already. I've lost too many mates and heard of too many going to let that happen.

Anyway it's a loophole Murcie, really can't go into it at all.

$13k is a lot to spend on a car that has the potential to get you into trouble with the cops. And its a massive step up from your Impreza. Don't rush into it.

I think people need to harden up. He's not a kid! So long as you don't go too nuts too soon, 220kw will be fine. I've always liked the chasers. Nice choice.

At the age of 16 I went from a sh*xbox 86 Honda Accord to a 300ZX and I survived. 12hp FWD to a 230hp RWD, still here.

30Atwkw to 220rwkw, it's similar. Still got a few things to work out so this isn't a definite.

Exactly, be smart about it and you'll be here for breakfast. If you didn't think you could handle it, you wouldn't be considering it :)

Given that it's a loophole that you say you can't go into here, I gather that it's skirting right along the edge of the law... so I'm sure you're aware that you could end up opening a huge can of worms for yourself? What's the fine for owning/driving a turbo car on your Ps?

Don't get me wrong, the car looks real nice, but is it really worth the potential massive financial and legal headaches? Good luck finding someone that'll insure you and if you get inspected by the police for whatever reason (such as a routine checkpoint, or straight up pulled over for driving like a knob) then you're well and truly up the proverbial creek.

If you're almost able to get off your P-plates and plan on having it registered in your parents' name until you can legally own it then you might be okay, but if not then I personally wouldn't tempt fate. Nothing ever good comes from that!

IIRC the fine for driving a restricted car on P's is $330 and you lose 3 demerit points. Maximum amount of demerit points allowed is 4 and if exceeded you have to either take a 3-month license suspension or a one-year vehicular good-behaviour bond.

That's for QLD I assume from this on the SA laws it's a similar deal:

The penalty for driving a high-powered vehicle includes paying an expiation fine and you will incur demerit points.

It's your choice though man. Just make sure you're thinking everything through.

Buy it while the car you want is for sale, drive that nonsense Ford for the duration of your Ps, and then drive the Toyota Chaser (because I almost said Soarer, I love FR Toyotas) the day of your new license. :)

That's my choice, anyways, given you have the money for it.

Off-topic but dare I say the US needs restrictions like these.

I second that. Part of the reason im parting with my Mustang is sooner or later im going to end up in alot of trouble or worse...

Good luck with the car dude, hopefully you find enough funds to put mods on it.

Seriously going to do audio mods before anything else, I already can't stand driving the ford purely because I can't play the music I want or play it loud.

Plus I'll take forever to get over the power it has . I placed a small deposit on it, small incase things fall through but big enough for him to hold it for me.

I also got to drive it this time which was awesome. It has an extreme heavy duty clutch which I've never experienced before. I drive 20 cars per day at work but I've never had anything like that, it's literally on or off.

Well it's all official, payment goes through for the Chaser in an hour and I will pick it up soon after. I have never been so keen in my life! I just turned 18 today too so this is such an amazing gift to myself .

I shall keep you all posted!

I've got it but I'll be driving it all night, I'll give it a photoshoot with my dslr camera tomorrow for the boys ;).
Absolutely in love, it's a bit of a handful!

^I know that too well. Took me over a week after I got the TT to get my dslr out.

Is it you that works as car detailer?

If yes I have some questions ;)

Ah, good old pearl paint, don't scratch it! Nice car, really great it's a manual I'll bet they're rare. Have fun trying to insure it!:)

Just car are going to cover it, it's slightly expensive but actually cheaper than the Subaru was going to be a year ago with no driving experience.

Congratulations on your birthday, and on your epic birthday present Legendary.

Much better than staying in shooting terrorists on COD.

It needs to be raised a bit, it is on coilovers so that's good. The front bar needs to come off (standard one is behind it) as it's too damn low and scrapes on everything. The exhaust needs to be mounted higher if possible as it also scrapes and the car in general needs to come up a bit because i'll get murdered by police for having it that low and the undercarriage has already scraped once so far.

Ohh happy bday mate

Looks nice. Enjoy it 👍.

Yeah it looks a bit "slammed" for your country's roads, especially the front.

more pics will be greeted with cheers :sly:
