There's a tarmac spec of both '98 and '99. I know which one you're referring to though, as I think I recall a Safari version of the '98. The '98 version was driven by Colin McRae, and the '99 version by Richard Burns and had a larger roof air intake. I also have the '00 version of the Peugeot 206 in silver and '01 Impreza Rally Car, but never got around to building them. I just don't have the patience to paint anymore, and all my paint has dried up so I'd have to go and buy a ton of paint if I were to build it now. That's why I like building Lego cars so much, no painting involved.
Thanks for sharing the pics of your awesome Tamiya WRC collection! I think the paintjob on your Mitsubishi Evo V, looks great! And it's convinced me that i really need to get another one. It's definitely one of my all-time favourite WRC cars, and seeing it again in your pic, really emphasises just how low it is in tarmac spec. It almost looks like a touring car or silhouette racer.
As for the 22B, (I haven't been up in the attic to check yet), but having a quick look at Tamiya box-art, it's definitely the 99 (Burns,Reid) one that i have. Looking at the examples of Tamiya box-art though, has reminded me of the version the Subaru 22B that i really wish i had, the Arai livery version. I'm also really digging that Michelin Pilot livery Cosworth you have.

@RyanRacer your X24 looks awesome too! And although the wedge piece doesn't come in transparent clear, it'll look convincing in black as well. That is one of my main gripes with Stud.io though, it's both a blessing and a curse being able to render whatever colour you want, only to find out LEGO doesn't produce it. It's forced me to go back and alter many designs.

Not to make this a sad post or anything, but I recently got the CAT D11 set and built it at my parents house specifically so my dad could see the progress and finished build. In the last year my dad has really picked up Lego as a hobby to keep occupied during retirement and even amassed a Technic collection bigger than my own. He loved finding deals online, ordering missing pieces and building MOCs. Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly from an undiagnosed heart condition at 65 years old last week. Something as small as bonding over the Lego has been immensely special and, honestly, I spent a lot of money on sets I might never have bought if it weren't for sharing them with my dad. I am thankful for that time and will build in his memory, it was more than just a building toy.

Sorry it's not a very good quality picture. Minifigure for scale.

Sorry for your loss. Our dad passed just months after retirement at that same age. I'm glad your father got to share an enjoyable hobby with you and that he was able to see this one finished.

Thank you and I am sorry to hear you've lost your father as well.

Sorry for your loss! My dad and I also bonded over LEGO a bit before he passed.

I cannot build in real life because of my disability, so I downloaded Stud.io yesterday and built an ugly bus to teach myself the tools:

Today I made this SCG 007C completely from scratch:

I'm kinda satisfied.

Uhhh those are way better than my first stud.io builds lol Keep it up!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm kinda happy considering the last time I've built something out of LEGO was over 20 years ago.

EDIT: WIP train.

I just saw that on Twitter, looks so good.

It's not a patch on the incredible designs you guys are creating, but I fancied a testing/Driver San Francisco livery Speed Champions Quattro, so raided my box of bits and Bricklink'd the rest.

Remarkably, because I bought the set on offer and had roughly half the white bits I needed, it cost less than the RRP.

I just sprang for the new AT-AT. Can't wait! Good news, bad news....it's supposed to snow a LOT next week, I should have loads of time to build it. However, there's also a high chance it won't get delivered too.

These UCS Star Wars sets look fun to build, too bad I can't afford to go down that road! Also, I like your table cloth.
It actually is a padded tabletop that my mom made for me a couple years ago. She asked the dreaded what color should it be question, and since lego has every color, making it one color would make a color 'disappear'. So I found this one 🤷‍♂️

Here's the AT-AT in its final resting place.

Finished the BMW M 1000 RR. Was a ton of fun to build, but also one of the more challenging Technic sets I've done in a while, not even mentioning the tons of stickers. It's massive, one of these days I will take a pic next to the Ducati Panigale V4 set for reference.

Edit... here is the rear tire next to an early Technic motorcycle set.

Looks like your not-so-minifig is leaping in the air  Great build for sure.

What do you all do with your Lego boxes?

I tend to keep them, especially the larger ones just in case I want to sell, but they take up so much space at this point I am debating whether or not to keep them at all. I don't think the boxes add a lot of value, other than the unique ones like the Lamborghini Sian, Bugatti and GT3 RS Technic sets.

With my addiction collection growing substantially during the pandemic (from about 20 sets to over 200), the box pile is only getting larger.

I'm glad I'm not alone on this. These boxes are worth a chunk of change when combined, wanting to keep them spearheaded me getting a storage unit (to also store my wife's teaching stuff) and cleared up our downstairs closet. It's kind of ridiculous but I'll be glad I kept them if/when I sell any sets.

Do you flatten the boxes at all? I figure that would save a load of space at least, but at the moment I have a pile of boxes with smaller ones inside best I can to save space. Honestly, I have no plans to sell anything, but ya never know, so I suppose it's best to keep the boxes.

I had mine in a storage unit for a while, along with other stuff, but since moved to a place with a garage that made the unit pointless for just Lego boxes and I don't want to keep them in a damp garage.

Yea mine are broken down and I 'think'I have most interior white boxes...(?). Those seem to be less important when reselling as I've not once got a question about them over the years when selling the older UCS sets Star Destroyer, Falcon, R2, etc.)
