Off topic: Is it possible to completely hide a wireless network? What I mean is, when you have your wireless card, you can search for networks whether they're private or open. But, can you hide it, to where it will not show up when they search?

Basically, you don't know it's there unless you type in the name, and password, and join the network.

Any help?

You can hide the SSID (there are some lower-end routers where that option isn't available). But this won't completely hide the network. The network will always be available on a scan. With the SSID hidden, though, all they can tell is the channel. With more sophisticated tools, they can tell the direction and pull down the packets.

I don't know if this is related to the PS3 at all, but someone could use the same channel, even if they aren't on the same network. They could then generate traffic on their own network that will cause interference with yours.

You'd need to be looking for hidden SSIDs to find it tho...if you don't broadcast the ID, it shouldn't show up on your normal scan in windows for example..even the channel.

diabolicwyvern: [appears behind BTK] What?
BTK: [turns around] So what do you think?
diabolicwyvern: About what?
BTK: About my idea?
diabolicwyvern: [gives it quick thought] It's doable.

1:43 @ deep forest raceway - reverse

how's that?

Yeyyyy! Someone will be behind me!

Just did some testing this evening with Trackbound and Diabolic. I'm looking at 375 PP getting me low 1:40s (as in around 1:40.2 not 1:42).

Hey...I just accidentally put weight1 on my van...anyone have a spare Move SR-XX 2wd '97 they can part with, or care if I replace it with a 4wd of the same vintage? I can't find a 2wd version for the life of me, but found the other early on..

I'll check when I get home, I have the Move, just not sure if I've modded it at all.

Do you still need? I've got it....I will give it to if you give it back when you're done w/ it.

you seriously want it back ? sure... send it over, and i'll clone it and send it back.

Thanks Geezer.

PS: I'd rather use the other one! :P

I want it back for my 'collection'

Shall I sent it to GTP_pyxen or?

Understood..thanks Geezer!

Edit: Van of Total Awesome back in biznass -- now painted a nice Deep Green, in honour of our venue of choice.

Geezer, for your generosity, I'll let you draft me down the straight once tomorrow.. ;)

big race tonight!

i'm down to 1:41, but tire wear will be killer

any bets on who's going to finish on the podium?

Good luck to everyone tonight. We will be doing 36 laps at Deep Forest Reverse. The race starts at 22:00 Eastern. Qualifying will begin at 21:30 Eastern.

Keep two wheels inside the white lines. That means you can not use the concrete sidewalk as track.

I think chuyler and/or Wii make podium just from not pitting. IF...IF Pixie sticks can keep the van of awesome on the track...he will be hard to beat though.

lol...mall cruiser.

I really hope that this'll be awesome :)

I'm running low 1'38s, and once I get dialed in tonight, should be able to hit 1'37s. Having a little less cash to spend has helped a bit, because the tires aren't lighting up as much as they were when we tested last week. Unfortunately that also means it's not quite as fast as testing last tuesday night (where I ran some 1'36s)

I can't break 1:40 (assuming 2 wheels on tarmac at all times) with the 5k I put into the car. Tire wear is OK but if I overcook turn 1 too many times (I have a habit of drifting sideways through it) I will start losing time on the back section of the track. I ran about 10 laps last night to practice.

Just a reminder to everyone. Garris mentioned above that concrete is off limits. 2 wheels need to be on the tarmac at all times. This is especially important exiting the final tunnel.

I'm actually debating skipping qualifying myself and just parking on that section, so if someone comes through there and tries to drive over it they hit me and ruin their lap.

I can police it during the race, but I can't during qualifying.

I'm in Phoenix and had no luck last night getting my PS3 running. The stupid TV in the hotel has aux inputs, but no way to switch to those inputs. I'm going to pick up a universal remote and try when I get done working. May just have to miss it. :/

Scroll through the channels, it might be between the highest and lowest channel.

I put on all those, and my car still won't break 1:40...but I think I'll run more consistent lap times throughout the race.

How many laps tonight? Hoping to get enough practice in tonight to see what my tire wear is. How many think they can go with no pitting?
