1.06 was the fastest lap for race right after DFR. But with the upgrades, look for 1.02-1.03 fastest.

I was at 1'07 (with draft) for the practice in car with 349pp. if i put 5kish into the car I think 1'03 is very probable. leaving the last couple corners with more torques will shrink time quite a bit. Im upset I didnt add power before the season I reduced weight to make up the PP. That was a glaring mistake.

I'm at 1'05.3xx regularly, and obviously that's nowhere near 1'03... All I can do is hope that you guys run slower due to traffic.

Seems I have more cash in my future! :D

I think this coming week will be hella fun..I'm really looking forward to the tire-roast! How many laps per race, and how many races will we be doing? 4x12 laps ? That'd give us just over 51 minutes of racing (at 1'03 per lap).. which gives us a few minutes between races for nature breaks, or quick tweaks. Setting it to reverse grid (as discussed) would make everything run smoothly!

If we set the race to begin every 15 minutes, that'd be pretty good! It should go without saying, that if you need to take a nature break, make it really quick!

I've been thinking about it. I've been thinking of 7 or 8 laps. The races won't be very long. Hopefully that will be long enough for everyone to get their passing in. I could see going to 10 laps, but no more.

I had thought of the timer. That way, when the hour starts, each race starts and we are all along for the ride. I won't really have anything to adjust on my car, so I'll just be saving replays.

I still go back and fourth between four heats or five.

I think 4 heats is better, esp. if we're doing reverse grid.. doesn't let you game it as much.

Can you lay out how we'll be breaking down the points ? Will there be 5 or 6 (26 / 5 or 4 races) for each win, meaning multiple people could walk out with a win (5 points) each, and no one jumps ahead 26 points ? Or will it be that each race has it's own points, and the sum of everyone's points for all of the sprints determines the night's points ?

I thought it was total average of finishes? Or that the last race counts as normal points, but top 3 in other races get bonus points.

I think they all need to be equal in value of some sort otherwise you will have drivers trying to sandbag in race 3 to start up front in race 4. Should probably consider doing it like motocross, lowest points wins the overall night. So lets say I win race 1, 5th in race 2, 8th in race 3, and 2nd in race 4. I would have the following points 1+5+8+2 = 16 points. Then my 16 points would be listed in order with everyone elses. The driver with the least amount of points gets the first place points (26 I think) towards our championship standings. Just go down the line. If there is a tie in the evening point system, both drivers get those points. I think that is probably the best way to make all 4 races count without dividing points up.

I vote for TrackBound's method. It makes every position count equally and will prevent any sort of sandbagging or giving up on individual races (unless the intention is to sandbag the entire evening).

Yeah, my thoughts were that there would be points assigned for the entire evening based on how well one did through all the races. So the evening would, in effect, be a mini series. I think TrackBound's motorcross method does the same thing.

My only consideration was, should we drop the lowest race, but I'm thinking not. That just means that everyone would have a race to sandbag, and I don't want that.

I think Pyxen is right, it should be an even number. I think Bowtie pointed that out before.

So, an 8 lap race every 15 minutes? I could see going a 7 lap race every 10 minutes to get in six heats, but that might just bore people on the idea. I don't want to have too many laps in a race because I don't want attrition to be too big a factor. It will always be something of a factor, but I don't want it to have more of an effect than cars and drivers.

p.s. Completely unrelated. Pyxen has a quote from Dabney and I have to post this. The Eve devs put together this video, so there are a lot of Eve references, but the message is pretty clear.

And yes, they are Icelandic, so they rap with something of an accent.

I LOVE the Daihatsu in the video...that's awesome :) ..lol - techno viking!

Excellent is what they strive to be!

With effort like that, no wonder Eve is so good :)

BTK
When can I stop sharing my car? I need to make upgrades soon.

It wasn't shared when I looked. I'll look this evening when I get a chance.

p.s. I've updated the spreadsheet.

Someone school me on FF cars. With 40k to spend, my car will have tons of power this week, but it is so slow around London in testing. I'm sure a lot of the problem is just me, but I feel I should be running a good bit faster than I am.

I threw 200kg ballast on the front end just for giggles and I picked up about a second over 0kg ballast! So I'm guessing front end grip is my problem. Is this normal? Any tips?

I just want to point out that you have 20,000 Cr. left to spend. Double check the spreadsheet.

How's the lemony goodness this season? Sorry I missed the sign up, I disappeared after my wheel broke last season and went into hibernation until it came back (with the exception of some Dirt3 with the controller... which sucks, BTW).

I like the sprint nights, and I was actually planning to ask about adding them myself...

Too bad I'm missing the fun, but another season should approach soon. Also, getting practice with RWD and getting better. New wheel is also helping.

Are there any "out of bounds" at London. Lots of sidewalks and what not. Very tight track with not a lot of places to go.

Oh yea. I know I just have 20k more. I just meant, with 40k total in my car, it should be one of the fastest. Guess I need to look up how to tune low pp ff cars.

I answer in rhyme.
There is a number that starts with zero, but should be more
Increase it as you like and the results will shock your very core.
(Plus your cornering capabilities will increase galore)

spooble, I think diabolic means that if you have adjustable suspension right now, your front camber should be positive, which would reduce/combat understeer. This week would be ok, but on longer tracks, try and fine tune it because it will affect tire wear. You're best to adjust spring height/weight.

The other bit is to be patient exiting corners..red tires = slow.

btw - if we need another sprint track, I think suzuka short would be fun :)

You think the tuning I'm thinking of will afect negatively tire wear?? Either we are confused or...no we must be confused.
