I have known trackbound for many years, and I know that he has as much respect for other drivers and strives for good, clean racing as much as anyone. To say that he "played bumper cars" as you put it, I find that very hard to believe. Maybe he defended his position aggressively at times, but without even watching the replays, I'd be willing to bet he wasn't half as bad as most of the other drivers. As someone who started near the front and fell all the way to the back in the last three races, I had a chance to see just about everyone leaning on each other all over the track, pushing people out of the way left and right. I talked to trackbound after the race and we both agreed that it seemed like most of the drivers threw the idea of clean racing out the window since damage was off.
I do agree with you that damage should have stayed on. I know there are no pits to get your car fixed, but that just makes it so there is more incentive to avoid contact. Also, these were very short races. It's not like you would have to drive around for 45 minutes with a damaged car.
Regarding the cujo situation, to compare that to the inexperienced driver you had troubles with last season, or to the aggressive driving of some people the other night is ridiculous. If he thought he could pull a 360 in the middle of the track, when he's in the middle of the pack, and not have any impact on the race, he's an idiot. The group of drivers behind him couldn't see a damn thing because of all the smoke he created, had to slow down to avoid t-boning him, and had no shot at catching up with the rest of the pack. Then everyone had to avoid him as he was parked in the middle of the track on a couple laps later in the race. After the race, he should have come onto the board and posted an apology for acting like an idiot during the race. Instead, he just complains that he did nothing wrong.
