Sweetness thanks red! :dopey: PS since I don't get home for 2 hours, which z is it?

Nissan 350Z (Z33, EU) '03 ($26,829)

Added mods:

- ECU $1000
- Racing air filter $450
- Sport Cat $500

Total after car purchase and mods - $28,779

Edit - My math earlier was wrong. That leaves you with $1221 left (not $1271). So I believe you have $91,221 to spend on upgrades above and beyond the ones currently installed. Also, unless it has changed, engine and chassis rebuilds don't eat into that budget. Tire purchases are also separate of the budget.

Edit #2 - I have been corrected below.. money to spend $61,221.

$90K is the total newcomers have (of which I am one) to spend, and includes a used car of less than $30K.

I am using the same 350Z, except my Z costs about $2K more...

Newcomers for this round have 90,000 total to spend. 30,000 on the car, and the remaining budget on upgrades.

If you use Red's car you'll have 61,221 left to spend.

Thank you for the clarification Snoopy and Chris. Sorry for mis-stating the credits available. Hope you guys have a fun and clean race this week.👍

Thank you much, there's a MR-S in my UCD for about 14 something right now if I can figure out how to take a picture, I'll be going with that. If not, I'll be using red's z :) Red, did you switch cars or are you not competing anymore? :(

Long story.. but yes I pulled out of the competition. I only ran the Z in the first week.

I would think the Z would handle the upgrades a bit better than the MR-S. But once you have them both, I am sure you will give them a good test.

Ahh, the beauty of Lemons racing. Makes the hunt for the car quite fun.

I think the MR-S might max out for the last few races...but I could be wrong. Most of us basically tried to maximize initial performance points. We ended up with EVOs and Scoobies because they gave us the most power per credit.

The 97 MR-2 GT-S would be a better option.

Well, that would have been my first choice, but I already have 4 of those 3 of which are already tuned to the 450pp :P
If I find another before wednesday I may go that route. Sorry for being indecisive!

Hey Stig.. sorry this is off topic. Would you mind sending me a dupe of the 370Z GT Academy car if you get a chance?

Talking about the Lemon's Z reminded me of that one.

No problem, just gotta reactivate my other account. I'll do that tonight 👍

PS I'm gonna pm you tonight about an idea I've got brewing.

I have the Nissan 350Z (Z33, EU) '03 three times in a memo .

I think I'm on to something here , doing some math to find out what a car in garage with no changes and x mileage has cost.

Code:
Nissan 350Z (Z33, EU) '03 ($26,829) mileage = ?

30797km Burning Red 27,918 Cr

26570km Sparkling Silver Metallic 28,616 Cr

1345km Sparkling Silver (M) 32,778 Cr

30797km 27,918 Cr
 - 4227km = 698 Cr (~6.055873 km = 1 Cr) (1km = ~0,165128 Cr)
26570km 28,616 Cr

3xxxx km 26,829 Cr (redreevos's car)

1345km 32,778 Cr

32,778 Cr + (1345 * 0,165128 Cr) =
32,778 Cr + 222,09716 Cr =
~33,000 Cr

0 km Nissan 350Z (Z33, EU) '03 = 33,000 Cr :D

 33,000
-26,829
-------
= 6,171

6,171 * 6,055873 = 37370,792283 km

redreevos's car mileage (in km) when bought = ~37371 km (23221.262 miles)
site used for km->mile translation :
http://www.metric-conversions.org/length/kilometers-to-miles.htm

So , I'm curious to know how far/close to the mileage of the 350Z on that photo did I get , chuyler1 and redreevos ?

This kind of calculation needs 2 cars of the exact same make , model ,year to work.
Different cars most likely have different 1 Cr/x km value.

EDIT: It looks like I'm going to miss the next race , going to be out of town.

Probably won't get any more practice in before the race. And this point, I'm really starting to wonder if I should even race.

After the first turn, braking to enter the infield, my car gets very loose. It jumps all over the place. I've tried getting on the flat apron before hitting the brakes, but that is right infront of pit lane, there isn't much of an apron.

I would be worried about causing an accident, but my best lap so far is 2:00. Most of my (clean) laps are 2:02 to 2:04. I should be well behind everyone else.

With 50 laps, if I don't wreck, I'll be pitting 3 to 4 times. After 10 laps, my tires were at half, so I'll be shooting for 15 laps per set.

I'll probably wreck though, so it won't really matter.

Has it been settle that everyone will be taking the second pit exit and not the first? I practiced with the second exit.

Garris, try playing with the brake balance. Using 6/4 might give you a little more stability.

Vol I have trouble with that 1st turn also. I find it helpful to ease off the gas about 1 second before I brake. Still somewhat out of control but less likely to spin, albeit at the cost of leptons.

Just to let everyone know, PSN will be undergoing maintenance for several hours today as a step to restoring the Playstation Store. Not sure if this will effect our race tonight.

On more thing, when we finish up this league would anyone be interested in a Time Attack / Touge style series?

Lets hope it doesn't. I just ran a 20 lap practice session. I really don't see anyone making it 25 laps on a set of tires unless they take things very slow. The hard brake zones do a number on the front tires in my car. Even if I keep them out of the red I'll be lucky to get 20 clean laps....and times drop so much it just isn't worth staying on the track.

I practiced using the 2nd pit exit. Be careful with your speed because the last thing you want to do is hit that wall right after a pit stop.

Pretty sure I've seen the grand am guys hit that pit exit wall a number of times in the Rolex 24.

How many laps are we doing? If it's 60 there might be something to gain in a 3 stop strategy.

We're doing 50 laps. Still might work with 3 pit stops, but you've got to make the most out of the grip when you have it...and you need to keep in mind you can run faster laps in the draft so ducking out early to pit before everyone else might cause you to lose more time than you think.

I didn't think about the draft, I always underestimate how overly strong it is in this game.

I know. If I stay clean, I can keep up with cars that run 2-3 second faster laps on this track....but I usually can't pass them unless they make a mistake in the infield. If you are all alone, you've got to negotiate the bus stop quickly, but in a pack, you just have to make it through alive to run a clean lap. It drives me nuts seeing people try to pass entering the bus stop. Even if you do pull it off, the car behind will get a better draft after the bus stop and end up in front through the infield (where there really isn't much room to pass).

I tend to not look down at the end of the straight for fear of missing my braking point into turn 1. I'd say somewhere around 160 mph, possibly 170?

It's funny you should say that, because my braking point is half based on how fast I'm going, so I almost always check my speed at those points.

I brake for the first turn at 168-170.

that sounds about right. i don't think my tranny will let me go much over 170 but i'm not hitting the redline even when i get a perfect exit from the bus stop...i'm sure i'll hit it with the draft though...but i don't have the credits to buy the custom tranny.

Funny.. whenever I look down at my speed at that point I end up missing my braking point and hitting the turn 1 wall!

but I think I am high 160s as well.

I just put down my best lap time so far. Did a 1:55.869 on a 3 lap run. Messed up a little on the 3rd turn and the bus stop, so I know I can get another 3 tenths out of it at least.

I'm braking at 172-174 actually. Just checked.
