Ditto t_wilson01, @ALB123 you can't give up yet! This one is tough but if you brake early enough and get good exits I'm sure you can hit it home! It's easy to over-drive this car, and I think the leading replays show that but if you run a nice conservative but aggressive lap I think you'll have this one (and that damn paint chip ) in the bag.

As it happens I just did it sub 8.50 but then I woke up :D

Seriously thought I've done somthing like 40hours of this even but still can't see sub 8.50 happening for me, best of luck for your effort:tup:

I feel so depressed.I know I am not in the same league as most of you guys, but I can usually Gold the Seasonal Events. It might take several attempts, but I can usually do it. Not this one. :( My best time is 9:30... I watched the video replay of the World #1 driver. It's like he throws his car into corners sideways. I have no delusions to think I could some day post an 8:42 lap, but I am very bummed that I can't beat 9:20 for a Gold. :SIGH:

Somewhere back there in the distant past I got a 9:30:xxx, I keep coming back and after many dq's my best laps are still 10 to 15 seconds off THAT pace... I may have to settle. Hopefully though I'll get a couple more go's at it today before registration ends. It would be nice to mark a gold cup with the rest of ya. Anyway,... still plenty more days after the official time trial ends to catch the gold. But, golly gee, what a ride! I've done far faster in many many other cars here yet, this is just a cut above trial.

DUDE!! what the 🤬 is going on with this???!! I hit my split times over the GP part of the track 9/10 times earlier today, then I was gone for 2 hours, and come back and I'm CONSISTENTLY 3 tenths off pace over the GP part, and roughly 3 seconds off pace over the entiure course! WHAT THE 🤬 IS GOING ON?? AAARH! I can not have gotten this bad, I've tried for almost 3 hours, and not even ONCE have I hit my split time over the GP part of the track! And I did that 9/10 times earlier!
I tried restarting the system if it where the bug @CRANK_U1 and @GTP_CargoRatt talked about 2 weeks ago, but no, still 3 tenths off pace and no matter what I do I dont get it back!
Seriously, answer me: HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??!

edit.
been trying for more than 4 hours now, more than I ever do, and its clear to me something happened with either the game, the software, the hardware, the wheel, the car, the tyres, the settings, the engine, the internet, whatever. something happend as I was able to run consistent 8:50's, but even with a perfect lap, I only got low 8:50, wich was really bad earlier.
Something happend that I have no control over, and I believe thats it regarnig TT for me. I dont find it fun to try your absolute best, and be screwed by some other factor that you have no control over, thats jst not fair, and if it is'nt fair pay, what's the point?

@CRANK_U1 , @GTP_CargoRatt , @hall90 : How exactley did this bug exhibited itself for you? Because I did'nt feel any difference with the car, just that it was that much slower overall. maybe it was slightly more understeer, as it did'nt rotate as good, and because of that, I did'nt get out of the corners as good.

Sometimes restarting the system will not work as you have found out. When this happened to me, it was for a full day or two. I would come back the next day or whatever and things would be back on par. Weird bug to say the least....I think it may have something to do with the online servers, that would be my best guess. At any rate Elias, I feel for you, its very frustrating I know.

Could this be linked to the fact that cars behave different online and offline? I've never experienced this before, I didn't believe you guys before. I sometimes noticed I was unnaturally slow, but it would go away within 10 minutes, so I was sure it was just me being tired or something. But this was something else, if you can do something 9/10 times, and later not even be able to do it once for four hours, it cant just be me being tired or anything... right?

And how did you experience this bug yourself? did you feel anything different with the car, or was it just that bit slower overall?

I first noticed this bug, if you will, in the TT at Suzuka with the Rocket and had it happen a few more times since. I really didn't notice anything differently as far as the cars handling goes that I can recall, it was mainly the fact that the car was just plain slower than hell. No matter what I did, I couldn't even come close to my ghost. But, when I tried it the next day or two, things would be back to normal. I could keep up with my ghost and even set new times. So no, it is not just you being tired or whatever. I know like 7-8 other people who also experienced this in the past so there is something to it, whatever "it" is. :odd:

Well that explains why I'm stuck on 9:16, ha ha.
Was only able to have a 10 minute try today before it closed, yeah, bit ambitious I know. Needless to say my time remained unchanged.

Though I'm lesser skilled than you are thats for sure, but still this was totally different TT altogether. I mean first of all almost everytime I improved it was ovet 0,5 s. And what comes to GP section it feld like you could loose that ,5s in first 3-4 corners if you wasn't "on the money" and thru the rest of the track I could find my self loosing that ,5s in one corner, or even gaining it if I got it even near perfect. Also I noticed that my mind started to play tricks on me usually somewhere after two hour mark. Feld like I was on some sort of auto mode which is BAD since I had developed this pattern in my head and it made do the same mistakes over and over again. Also what it comes to my over all condition, I got really wasted on weekend and found it really difficult to catch my ghost on monday even thought on friday I was really confident about improving it on first run on monday, yesterday thought I had gain my full healt back and had no trouble improving and it had lot to do whit the different mind set.

Yea, I figured you'd go and add that to your toolbox of excuses also.

I'm not depressed, but I am certainly disappointed. I am the same as you. I've always been able to Gold all seasonal events; even in GT5. This is the first time for me Not to get Gold. I'm currently at 9:26 & I know that I can knock off a few more seconds with a perfect run. But, still frustrating! At least you know that you're not alone in this one!

I'm in the same boat as you, know I can do better but just can't string a good lap together. I think my main problem is in not taking full advantage of the racing tyres and being too cautious on entry. I'm loving every minute of it though!

Well I feel cheated, the game took away my chance of a good time. this is the first time I was not able to set a time that was good in my eyes. Sure, I ended up with 8:49.6, but that's about 2 seconds slower than it should be. Lost about a second in the final corner alone.:grumpy:

OK I know this sound ridiculous as it feels ridiculous as well, but this is among the proudest moments in my life :D

I mean my initial goal was to be at least whit in 8 sec. from the 1st but did't quite manage to do that and to be honest it's almost embarrassing to loose whit 10 sec. in racing contest(of one lap)! But never the less I made it to the TOP 50 and was the fastest guy from my country (i'm not from the most populated country but still IMO this is a pretty adequate reference point)!!! And please don't nobody get me wrong, this doesn't mean I'm starting to figure I would be the most skilled guy from my country, I'm not even close. Actually why I'm so happy and proud is because I made it through relentless grinding, I mean last two weeks I've been doing nothing besides going to work and played GT(OK I did get wasted during the weekends so no grinding done there), I mean you guys should see this apartment :D It's a total mess :D

But this really goes to show that guys whit lesser skill/talent (and whit some 8 year old DFGT)can still make pretty good effort just by not giving up, and it have really felt like I have but every single last bits of my energy to master this TT I mean every night after session when going to bed the muscles and joints in my hands have been really sore, I mean really, also couple of times it felt I was about to loose my mind :D! But the smile that I have had on my face when falling to sleep has been priceless, knowing that I have yet again improved a lot, and at the same time been finding new places to win some time tomorrow... Well that's just what i love, and all the anticipation during the work days made my days fly by thinking how and what I'll be trying this evening on this monster of a track.

I'm just really exhausted and happy, thanks again GT, I just love you so much ♥

Oh c'mon now man, you were like the fastest guy from whole Scandinavia :D EASILY!

Anything outside top 10 is a failure!:banghead:
Well I guess I know what you are saying, It's a human nature to get more hungry trough every success.

Actually I'm kinda in a place where anything outside top 100 is a failure :D but I think I'm heading in a right direction :D

Thing is... It was quite easy, I would have done a 8:47 if it where not for the game messing with me. If I cant make it because I'm not good enough, thats ok, but here the game robbed me out of it.

Well I really hope they do figure what's causing this phenomenon to happen.

But whit all do respect, I have quite a lot of experience in another sport that takes couple of years just to learn the basics and after that absolute precision is demanded all times since loosing your concentration for just a blink of an eye is going to mess it all up, and I among other players suffer from same kind of phenomenon in that game, I mean sometimes it actually feels like someone has been messing whit the equipment but in this case it's just not possible, so you have to find reasons elsewhere, and let me tell you there is a lot of things that can effect your performance, and most of the time they are really hard to detect. I mean when competing on such level as you are is a fine art, and just a bad diet choice for the day can mess it all up or you haven't sleep well, or your mom is giving you trouble... and that's just a start of a very very long list of things that effect you. Just remember, when competing in worlds top level in any sport is going to demand you to be in your best shape if you wan't to win.

And I really do hope this bug really doesn't exist, I mean it's a huge problem if it's indeed there.

And there's guys talking about restarting your system, but just a moment of doing something else may be the key there, I mean it sometimes works for me when i'm struggling, just give it a rest for even 5 min and it can sometimes help a lot.

And just an idea of something being wrong could throw me off... I mean It's gonna take a portion of your brain to think what's wrong and I don't care who you are, but if you have some irrelevant matter in your mind while trying to do your best... It's not gonna happen.

Ha ha, my bag of excuses? How about this monster excuse of yours........""I really didn't notice anything differently as far as the cars handling goes that I can recall, it was mainly the fact that the car was just plain slower than hell.""

The car was slower? Was that just for you or for everyone? That takes the 'excuse' cake any day mate. Hoo haa!

Thats what I thought when the other guys where talking about it, but I wasn't tired, everything was fine, and the fact is I his multiple perfect laps, no mistakes, and still was slower than I was before. There must have been something else, there is no way I got that bad just by taking a break for 2 hours.
I've driven with headake, bad diet, tired as ****, you name it, and it has not affected the times as this did, and I was on a good diet, I was'nt tired, and as I said everything was fine. Still, the times was not what they where supposed to be.

I'm 130ish globally right now. Not too bad. Unfortunatelly the car is understeering like GTRs and it is ****** feeling to drive this car.
