Licenses in GT6

You view GT more for its car collecting aspects, it seems. Others prefer it to be more about racing. The two ideas can co-exist. I don't get the resistance to this.

I view it as a complete racing game that isn't designed for online-only leagues. I had no problem in GT2/3/4 when we had to win certain races to get DTM/Touring cars to be competitive in other races, and many people have said they don't have a problem with having stuff like the FGT and other unique cars being prize cars or behind locked doors.

To be dead honest, I basically stopped playing single player in GT5 just because once you finish all of the races, there is no reason to repeat them. There are no unique cars and even if there were you cannot sell them, the payouts are horrible, and the time and effort you spend doing that could be better spent doing seasonals.

It seems that online racing in GT5 might have been what made single player so boring. Let's hope that mistake isn't made with GT6.

 It doesn't have qualifying or a points championship, you can't setup your own opponents or events or even choose between race strategies. There's no mechanical failures or tire punctures or flags. Complete driving game? Sure. Complete racing game? Hardly. You have to go online and create your own experience if you want anything that resembles proper motorsports.

Still can't wait for my copies to arrive though, and meet up with my buddies online. 👍

Game, not sim. There's a difference.

In GT3 acquiring licenses were mandatory to progress. So, to say that they should not be mandatory then say that you like how they were on GT3 is quite contradictory of your starting statement.
I'm saying I agree they shouldn't be mandatory, because it's unfair for many. Me, myself, though, I like licenses to be mandatory.

I an totally against the way the licenses were utilized in GT5. I have gold on all of them (first gt with this accomplishment), but it only took one day, and there was no need to even play them at all. I feel like they should make them necessary to acquire like previous installments. I remember trying to get gold on all the licenses, and raging all too often...but the feeling of accomplishment was something that i felt was lacking in GT5 overall. So in summary, make them necessary and harder to get gold. Any thoughts?

Yeah, but did you gold the Vettel challenge?
