Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel

Adaptor got me over the line. Just pulled the trigger on a Pro Wheel, Pedals and Adaptor. Upgrading from G29. Will fit it to my Playseat Challenge. Wish me luck!
To use on PS5. Mainly GT7.
Anyone got any PS5/GT7 tips/settings/hints so that I can hit the ground running?

Hey! Which braces did you buy? Classic? Pro?
How much difference do they make? Should I install the wheel and see how it goes without braces before buying them? Or do you think they're a "must have"?
Dumb question but if you have bought the wheel & pedals why have you also bought the adapter?
Is it purely for the ability to adjust the brake pressure on the fly?
Or do you have a shifter to use as well?

The best way to get hold of someone is by getting the ticket started and let me know the number 🙂

One last thing: have you tried swapping the USB cable for a different one?
I saw another thread you responded to on Reddit Rich talking about USB ext cable needing to be an active cable. I do use a regular 6' USB extension cable, so maybe I should switch to an active one? The problem with that theory though, is I have been using this extension cable from day 1 with this wheel and never once had it drop the connection. So why now all of a sudden? Some PS5 or Logitech update affecting that somehow now?

Yeah I use the shifter and I prefer it to paddles for most cars.

This review got me too: just order a Pro wheel for my Playseat Challenge. I will first try it without any indigo lime addons. Wish me luck!
Lets stay in contact and swap Playseat Challenge experiences.
I'm considering the full reinforcement bundle but I also want to install the wheel first and then assess what's needed.

Just to give you a heads up regarding the other stuff from Indigo Lime. I did use the pedal pivot reinforcement clamps for a while but due to the design they're really not that good if you want to raise the pedals off the floor in future. I replaced them with a mod from Lowdown Shifter (unfortunately they are not shipping outside of the UK atm), and also got a solid metal pedal plate from them which is really good. Also I didn't see the need for the wheel plate pivot reinforcement. There's a little bit of movement in that area but to me it's the frame of the playseat that's moving not the joints where the wheel deck swings up/clamps.

Interesting. Great feedback! Thank you!
Regarding the pedals. I always race with my pedals propped up on a foam roller for a bit of elevation. Ie. instead of being flat on the floor, I stick one of those exercise foam rollers underneath the pedal assembly. Are you saying that this likely wouldn't be possible with the pedal pivot thingo?

It’s worth a try, but the quickest way to test this is to take the extension out of the equation completely as a quick test, if you can. As you’ve no doubt seen, I’m very wary of USB extensions because they do result in problems with signal degradation.

I’m also seeing a couple of people with similar symptoms as yourself who have replaced the USB cable we provide with one from Amazon and that addressed it.

As to why it’s suddenly happening, that’s harder to say. One of our testers during development had an issue and it turned out that their cat was chewing on the USB cable. It wasn’t immediately obvious either, but close inspection revealed the issue, so it’s worth checking!

Having faced a USB extender issue in the past I can confirm this.

I can also add that I had a very annoying persistent problem with my G29 disconnecting mid game from my PS5, and it was fixed by swapping out the USB extension cable.

You can get a little but the design of them really doesn't allow for any pivot so with the pedals raised the plastic reinforcements are always pushing them downwards with the back of them digging into the floor...if that makes sense. They're designed for the pedal deck to be flat on the floor.

Hi all. This may be a really dumb question.. but i play gt7 with the settings like logitechs recommendations and 11Nm of tourqe.
But i never get that much torque. When im using that display it goes to maybe 2-3Nm at most.
I tried acc this friday and the tourque there was massive compared to gt7. Now i know that this is another game but shouldnt the gr3 Cars be at least a little the same?
I have never been in a racecar so i dont know how it is supposed to feel.

What are your thoughts on this? I could always go stronger in the ffb settings in game, but 5 and 1 is the recommended settings.
Is this how it is supposed to feel or do i have a glitch somewhere?

Just increase it from 5 to 6; that should make a big difference 'cause the wheelbase's being set to 11 means every increment of the in-game FFB level creates a decent jump in torque applied.

If 6 isn't enough, go to 7...

Yeah, ill do that. Thank you.
Was just so suprised that in acc i really needed to battle with the wheel, which i thought was fun =)
I went for 7!

This mega patch day, these packages arrived and PSVR2 comes tomorrow.

It kinda made me feel like a high school boy again 😅

You should see my sons reactions, hahaha what a surprise they had!

Was that when you told them that you can't afford to feed them for a few months now. 😉

Have fun. 👍

(I see your pedals also arrived. Mine were delivered today as well.)

I have already tried it, my mind is blown from the feedback!!!

The pedals are insane and the overall quality is amazing!!

Best gaming decision I ever made 🥰

Tomorrow is game day for me, according to UPS. Although it looks like my Adaptor will be sent in a separate shipment to the wheel and pedals. So I might be restricted to paddle shifting only for a few days. I can live with that! Bring it.

@LOGI_Rich after spending like an hour with the wheel I had 2 questions.

The fan is noisy and it doesn't sound like a normal fan sound. Please check this video I uploaded to see if I am correct. If the fan is faulty what can I do about it?

After connecting the wheel to the PC I used G-HUB to firmware update it. When I go in the wheel there are no settings just an empty screen (check the screenshot). Wasn't there supposed to be wheel settings or is it only for updating?

TIA

Me and the kids are already having a blast!

I’m afraid that does sound like a problem with the fan. It’s hard to say sometimes with phone recordings because they can pick up a lot and make things sound worse than they actually are, but you shouldn’t ordinarily be able to hear much at all. Either the bearing for the fan has a problem or a wire is getting caught - you can check for the latter by signing a light in the back there.

You will need to get touch with our support to arrange an exchange.

As for G HUB that screen shows when you select the gear icon for the wheel. If you click the actual wheel picture on the main screen of G HUB then you’ll see the settings.

First few hours into it, and here's a Playseat Challenge compatibility report. Only driven for like 30 mins so take with a grain of salt. Will have more substantial feedback later. It feels amazing. The Playseat Challenge seems to be able to handle the full 11Nm of torque without a problem. I had the Pro Wheel torque set at 11 (max) my GT7 controller settings > max torque set at 10 (which was hardcore) and then a more feasible 7. I had force feedback at 6. I noticed no vibration or movement or anything annoying. Still to do a lot of testing though, so this could change. Will likely still buy the Indigo Lime braces but it seems to be ok without. At this stage....

Now for the installation stuff.
1. You will need to buy M6 bolts to attach the unit to your rig. Take into account the thickness of the plate. The M6 bolts I bought were exatcly 15mm of screw thread part + the head of the bolt in addition.
2. As seen in the pics, I could only use the 2 mid section bolts. The 3rd one (as recommended in the instructions) is inaccessible. The hole is located under the red X where the wheel plate mounts to the Challenge structure. @LOGI_Rich do you think this will be ok long term?
3. The Pro pedals only just fit onto the Challenge pedal assembly. And they cover the red adjusting lugs to tighten the pedals into position. This will mean a bit of annoying messing around at the start and end of each session. At start will need to first tighten the red lug, then fix the pedals into place with the black velcro pull strap. And the reverse of that at the end of each session. I wonder if its possible for someone to mod this lug so that its rather on the side, not the top. This way, the lug could still be accessible and used without having to remove the black velcro strap each time.
4. The Challenge still folds up nice and compact, even with the added heft of the Pro wheel and pedals. Fits in its spot in the hallway quite nicely still.

Despite these slight niggles, I'm super happy with the decision to buy the Pro Gear.

I hope this info helps other Playseat Challenge users.

I’m not at home right now but I seem to remember that I just moved the wheel plate forwards by unbolting it and using the bolt holes next to holes 1 & 2 in your picture to reattach it. That then gives you access to the third hole, which I do recommend.

Have you tried rotating the mounting plate on the Playseat 180 degrees to see if it's better? You may be able to move the wheel base back a bit more to clear the 3rd hole but you'd need to drill some holes. That's what I did with my DD Pro but that has T nuts so you can position it more easily. I did try mounting the plate in the middle but found it was too close to me.

Thanks for the feedback, Rich. I think I tried that but it didn't work. And also it put the wheel too close to me to drive comfortably.

I didn't realise you have a Playseat Challenge. If you could clarify and show me a photo of your mount setup, that would be super appreciated. Cheers!

Yep I did try spinning it 180. No go. Didn't help.

Yeah, I pulled the trigger on the G Pro. I figured why not, I’ve really been putting in the hours and now there’s talk of GTR Revival in 2024…

My rig is extremely sturdy, welded it up myself, I’ll probably have to make a new mounting plate when it arrives. I have been looking into butt kickers or bass shakers… I found out this is extremely difficult to do on PS5 if you want game and chat audio coming through your headset.

So I thought I’d post a suggestion to Logitech since Playstation seem to have made up their minds by removing the optical port on the PlayStation.

Would be cool if you could somehow extract the info going to the wheel, to send to a buttkicker/bassshaker unit as well? The wheel has those USB ports, perhaps Logitech can work their magic and make it possible for PS5 users to run such a setup by sending info out of one of those USB ports to plug into an amplifier to run the bass shakers?

I checked the fan there is no cable touching. I will try to reach support but there are bugs preventing me from doing that especially in the chat :/

As for the screenshow that I showed you this is what I see when I press on the gear icon on the wheel... Some kind of bug I guess.

This thing (wheel and pedals) is pure epic. I am totally in love.

The adaptor still hasn't shipped. Anyone in Europe received a shipping notification on the adaptor?

I like the idea of on the fly brake pressure adjustment so I ordered the racing adapter on the 19th & paid £9 for the 1-2 day shipping.
So far it has been 4 days & they still haven't even processed my order!
I've just had a moan with a sales agent, asked for my £9 to be refunded & to change my order to regular delivery because I might as well wait the extra few days now.
What is the point of offering the service if it takes days/a week to process an order, it's an absolute joke!
Most online retailers that offer a paid for express service will process & ship the order same day if placed before a cutoff time or next day if placed after the cutoff, how come a massive company like Logitech can't get their s**t together?

Rant over

@CustomX Here's how the bottom of the Challenge looks:

@Igano If you click the gear icon then you get the screen that you showed. If you click the actual wheel image rather than the gear icon then you'll get a very different view. As for support, provided you can get a ticket number then we can escalate that.

@hawkeyez Yes, this is the disadvantage on PS5 because using a headset stops audio output to the other endpoints. If you weren't using a headset then a HDMI extractor would have you covered. Buttkickers actually don't cover the range of frequencies that we support through Trueforce, but it may be something we look into in the future (never say never).

That made me pause for a second before I then realised what I think you're doing. Click the wheel image that's in the screen after clicking the gear icon won't do anything. You need to click the wheel image from the main screen in G HUB:
