Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel

Id caution you with using oil in this case. It will attract dust and eventually gum up the microswitch underneath, if the oil doesn’t end up in the microswitch causing a complete failure. #warrantydenial. Also keep in mind that there is a circuit board under there, and being part of a steering wheel that gets turned in every direction as well as vibrations from trueforce. The oil will spread out over time.
For the qr click, if you can isolate it to the qr, a drop of oil may help, if away from any circuitry or entry points. I may try that if it came up with mine. But i think in your case hawkeyez has the right idea, though will cost more than you’d want and likely difficult to locate. Just my 2c, good luck, happy racing
Yes those are good points, maybe I will cover the opening with tape to prevent dust, although it's narrow and in vertical, but better safe than sorry.

About the oil spreading, not much I can do now, just pray. I didn't apply much of it but it's a spray so difficult to control. Didn't think about turning the wheel so the excess oil would go to the side, that would've been a good trick. Ah well let's hope for the best.

edit: Maybe I will leave the wheel upside down so the oil would go the the harmless center and top. Eventually it will thin out and stay there hopefully

With qr you mean the quick release?

I was more thinking if you had to do it once, you’d likely have to reapply at some point. I didn’t clue into it being a spray. ONLY a drop man, aahhhhh. Lol. I wouldn’t worry about taping the hole. Whats done is done. Dust will find it’s way inside one way or another over a long period of time. It’ll create a nice litttle paste with the oil. Just the nature of anything thats not sealed.

QR yes quick release. Not that you’re having a problem with that or should expect to. But a few have, and I previously comented on someeone elses post that a drop of oil may be an option. Since we were talking oil, just thought i’d throw that in for passers by.

I will absolutely do that. I've posted about the last straw with Fanatec on several reddit threads (example) so you can quickly get a read on my current headspace with my decision.

In summary, Fanatec has grown very mediocre over the past couple years. This doesn't bother me, but their attitude makes me think that they believe they're top dog. I'm nearly 50 and dealing with companies that get too big for their britches are not who I like to do business with (if there are other options).
Whelp, this sucks....

Got my wheel and pedals yesterday and spent about 3 hours mounting/routing everything on my SimLab setup. Woke up this morning to clean everything up and power up the wheel and POP!!!! It sounded like an electric pop, followed by a mild burning smell, followed by the wheel not wanting to power up at all. I've tried chatting support, but just got crickets. Can't call them since they don't open until Monday @8AM CST.

Not a great start for moving to Logitech for the first time in my 25+ year sim racing "career". Hopefully there's no static or friction with getting a replacement (I better not have to send it in and wait for repairs).

@LOGI_Rich not sure if there's anything you can do to help, but I was able to open a support ticket

I did find this reddit post online, that is identical to what happened with my wheel:

Yes, that's quite a decent discount. Unfortunately I couldn't make use of it, I'm a bit beyond normal student age. 🙂

I hope all goes well with your new gear, I'm sure you'll enjoy using it. 👍
How much is the student discount code in percent%?

@whannel
Yes, the new way of addressing it is to get in the car, press the Xbox button on the wheel to bring up the guide at the side of the screen, unplug/replug the wheel, power it on and play. This disables Trueforce mode completely but it’ll get you up and running.

Ideal cheers, certainly better than it dropping out where I'd stop playing, seems to keep on playing through more events fine. Hopefully they can get it all working for us in time.

@TagsxA damn man, that's brutal. Sorry that's your intro. I hope they take care of you quickly.

Just out of curiosity, was the wall side of the power brick already plugged in and you plugged the cord into the base when it happened?. Not that that should have happened at all. 😒

Is there a best order to power up the wheel when using the PS5? Should I start Ps5 then login into my user profile > then power up the logi wheel, select PS button on wheel to assign wheel controller to my user?
Logirich posted somewhere within the last 8 pages. Your procedure is correct. If i recall corectly, as long as your ps5 boots up and your user is loaded, should be good to turn on the wheel. Been working for me no problem, though only for 2 weeks. So what do i know.
I have noticed if i don’t hit he ps button within 5-10 min, i have to hit the power button on the wheel base again and start over. I guess it powers off if not connected right awayish. No issues having a dual sense and wheel connected. I switch back and forth many times within a session, no issues.

I put mine TF to 100 in the base as recommended here. Then I put in game TF to 35 and never bothered about that, since the first day with the wheel.

I use the same base profile for my ACC both PC and PS5, but I raised TF from 25 to 30 in the game controller menu.
"Set it and forget it". Always working for me

I havent seen a tf audio option in gt7 on ps5. So i set it on the base. Started with the logitech suggested settings, I'm a noob. So like t try different things to see what i like. Im sure set it and forget it will come soon. So far liking 22 for gt7.

There isn't one mate.

In the controller menu (in the Options Menu) there's a vibration setting. That one definitely enhances the fine detail of curbs and whatnot.

Just don't set it too-high. In my experience anything between 30 and 60 should give you some nice "vibes".

IIRC I've got it set at 35. Can't remember what the wheelbase is set at for TF, probably also somewhere between 30 and 60.

Are you sure thats not just for dualsense controller vibration.

I started at the recomended 25 on the base per logi settings page. Ive dropped it a little cuz it just felt like a steady unrealistic engine vibration in the wheel, to the point my fingers felt like they were still vibrating for a couple minutes after races. I may mess around with the setting you suggest if i get bored one day. Feels better for now.

Yes, it's for the wheel.

What I'm still not clear about is what the differences between TF and this vibration setting are.

A blend of the two at around 40-50% each does feel pretty-good, but as I suggested, I haven't experimented to determine what the differences are.

Hopefully Rich will chime in and give us the official low-down.

The Vibration slider in GT7 affects both the DualSense haptics and the TF Audio level. Any setting on the wheel will be setting a limit within that set by the Vibration setting in GT7 - so if the Vibration is at 50 and you set the TF Audio to 50 then you're actually running at an in-game setting of 25.

At least that's how it was working recently - I haven't had a chance to test GT7 since the latest patch.

I have an offer for Logitech Pro Racing Pedals from a local online store in my country for used items. I don't know the reason why the seller sells them but the box looks unopened, and seller told me they are not used.

My question is if I buy them, am I eligible to claim warranty to Logitech as a second owner, if something brakes with the pedals without contacting the first owner of the pedals, during the time?

Do I need to require from the first owner some info about purchase or any other info?

Thanks!

Thank you Rich!

No wonder I was having difficulty discerning a difference between the two parameters; there is none.
though, there is difference for FFB in ACC between wheel base at 100 and gain 50% and base at 50% and in-game gain at 100%.

The wheel strength and feel is almost the same but the ACC FFB bar behaviour quite different.

@morfei1 Officially, the warranty does not transfer. In the unlikely event that anything happens to them then you can get in touch with support and they will often do something as a courtesy, but it's recommended that you have original purchase receipts.

Interesting though. Gt7 v1.35, psvr2, i don’t get the same vobration option. Even with the vr off, it stays the same.
