Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel

hello all,

First time sim racer here. I bought the new Logitech G Pro Racing wheel and pedals set and hook it up to my playstation 5 and trying to play Gran Turismo 7 using the wheels. But I find controlling and manuvering the cars is much harder using the Logitech G Pro Racing wheel compare to using playstation 5 controller. The car just does not seem to turn into corner with good response using the wheel. The problem becomes even more obvious for rally racing cars on dirt roads. What wheel settings are guys using to get the more accurate turning feel using Logitech G Pro Racing wheel? Can anyone share your settings? Thank you!
Logitech support site has list of settings to get you started...

There is a possibility of unlocking the full power of the g pro wheel in gt7. You have to set it to g923 compatibility mode :) it feels much better. But it's not perfect. There is a lack of versatility. All the cars feel quite similar but... similarly good :D a lot more grip with this setting. Now I can drive even older cars and have good control of them. With standard g pro compatibility mode it was very hard.
To versatile the feeling I change strength settings for different group of cars. For road cars about 6-6,5NM, gr3 7NM gr2 7,5 gr1 8NM. There is one issue with high downforce cars, a lot of wheel shaking around the center on long, high speed straights. Seriously a lot of shaking ;p that much that it's unplayable on lemans with gr1 cars. But for other cars or tracks without that long straights it feel much better than standard setting :)
In game setting for me:
Max force 10, sensitivity 1 vibration 35
On wheel:
Strength 6-8, filter 15, damper 15, TF audio 100, angle 1080, compatibility g923

You need time to adapt yourself. I had similar experiences with my g29 when GT7 was released, considering I was playing GT5 on wheel but had 10 year off the simracing.

Practice, lap time and consistency will come. At the end you will enjoy the game even more.

You're used to being able to get full lock with about 8mm of thumb movement, as opposed to 540* of wheel rotation. That's why it doesn't feel responsive.

If you really want to, just set the wheel rotation to 180 degrees (if it goes that low?). That way you've got all the 'responsiveness' you could want, only a tiny bit of movement for full lock either way!

My wheel has been great, I’ve had it since November last year and have put hundreds of hours on it with AC and GT7. I just wish there was a Pro manual shifter for that clutch pedal 👀.

I’ve seen multiple people citing the prices for both as $999 but ignoring the fact that the Fanatec does not come with a steering wheel so you can add another $200-300 to that number 🤷. Would be funny if Logitech comes out with a booster.

Clubsports, nice. But they wouldn't seem to add anything extra to what I've already been experiencing for some time from my G Pro. A bit of extra torque is good maybe, but I've never thought I needed more than I have. Trueforce, when implemented in a game, provides plenty of detail.

Fullforce seems audio based rather have than have a physics component. Although I suppose that could change when it is integrated more fully into games.

As I say, nice, but I don't think I'll be swapping over to Fanatec because of them. For me they wouldn't add anything new. Of course they do have that ecosystem!

I would be interested in the new DD+.

But I have one question. Is it even possible to connect the pedals and the base separately to the PS5 and will it be recognized correctly?

In other words, I would then like to use the DD+ base and the Logitech G Pro pedals. Is that even possible? Do any of you know?

No, to do that you would need to use something like Drivehub and I always tell people to steer clear of such devices. Because they're unlicensed, there's no guarantee that first party won't block them at some point (you may have seen Microsoft starting to crack down on this) plus specific features like Trueforce/Full Force will not be supported (and the CS DD won't be supported by Drivehub at first anyway as they need to update their firmware to add support).

Thank you for the quick reply. I know the Drivehub very well because before the G Pro I used it to play with my DD1 on the PS5. I had the DD1 without Playstation compatibility.

But I'm a bit surprised that I have to use the Drivehub for my project.

Both the G Pro pedals and the DD+ are licensed for the PS5. Or is it because I would then use the pedals separately?

The way the consoles work is that everything has to report to the the host as a single device - there's simply no support for multiple USB devices all to be used by the same player account. Plus the Pro Pedals (or indeed any of Fanatec's pedals) are not actually licensed for the console - they don't have an authentication chip in them, so they wouldn't enumerate anyway.

Still waiting for the announcement of the Logitech G pro shifter 😔. Want to take a Civic and use the shifter to ride it on the Nordschleife, but yeah... (so disappointed).
I’m looking forward to pretty much having to re-learn how to drive with the shifter. Makes it a whole different process since you have to plan your shifts and how to hold the wheel, you can’t just be rabidly switching gears like you can with the paddles 😂.

No need to, drive for fun and immersion with it. It's going to be very difficult to be competitive on H-shifter.

Considering you can shift without clutch in GT7 I dont find it very impressive and realistic, but I enjoy it on the Nordschleife on some old school cars.

Yes.

Fanatec works that way too. In both cases the Sony chip's in the wheelbase and X-Box in the rim / wheel.

Obviously this means that you can't but an X-Box-compatible base and make that PS-compatible by adding a wheel. If you need both, go the PS-compatible base and add a wheel for X-Box.

Do you guys think a mid-tier DD product from Logitech is on the horizon?

The G-Pro ist still the wheel of my dreams, but it´s a bit out of reach right now.

If it is, it will take a while until you are able to buy it. There is still no pro shifter. Developing these new products happens to take a lot of time.
