Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel

It was unplugged from everything. It sat in the box as it came. Maybe some bad pin on the microUSB port? I really don't want to wait 3 months + (I live in Bulgaria) for a replacement if the problem can be fixed for a minute.

Just watched some YouTube vids about the Fanatec shifter (for the 100x) and was day dreaming at the same time about a Logitech pro shifter. How nice would it be to drive a E46 M3 and put it in overdrive, hear the exhaust rumble, take the next corner shift up with a mechanical and heavy feeling gear knob. Do a perfect heel and toe downshift and take the next corner again.....🥲

Man, I'm hoping so much that this pro shifter (if it ever will be produced) is not going to disappoint!

Like if you can not wait for the pro shifter, let's see how many people on this forum wants it. Would be interesting to see.

Everyone with a G Pro?

Hello everyone.
I can't decide between Logitech and Fanatec. First of all, I'm on playstation and Mac. And I want more now after 2 years of T-150. My first upgrade attempt was a T-GT2 two weeks ago. After 2 days I sent it back disappointed. It had a noisy fan and developed a pungent, chemical stench that filled the room. it was awful. TM done for me.

Next step -- DD wheel

For me, Fanatec has the advantage that the base has no fan.

Now my questions about logitech...

Logitech has a fan, right?
Is it loud or does it get loud?
Is there any smell?

Everything else looks good to me, especially that you can update the firmware with a Mac.

thanks.

Don’t smell anything. Can hear the fan but it’s quieter than my PS5 and I wear a headset so don’t notice it at all. I actually only hear it when I hold the red button to shut down and hear it sort of spin up and down, it seems to run some while it’s off, maybe continues cooling?

it’s got its issues, mine is mainly a weird click which I’m convinced is just the quick release collar. I hardly hear or feel it with my headset on but it’s there. Other than that I really like the wheel a lot.

Missed opportunity was not having soft backlit buttons for low light racing. Don’t have the pedals so can’t comment on those, running the G923 pedals and I think they’re good enough for me. For now.

I wrote a little review somewhere in this thread haha. good luck finding it but overall I’d say it’s a great wheel. The only thing that sort of stops me from telling them to just send me a new rim or maybe swap this one out is the possible wait time for a replacement. But I get they can’t send one out and then you send yours back.

I don't use a headset but have to say I have never heard the fan or felt the plastic unit even get warm. I am not an all day user TBH however and have only been using it a few weeks. No smell and no sound. I had a Fanatec all set and in my shopping cart but something would not let me pull the string. They couldn't even estimate a delivery window was my first concern (and after researching their products people had been waiting MONTHS), followed by their abysmal customer service response (sent them a question on their online form and took over a month for a generic non applicable response) and then the corker was a whopping 14 day return window. Logitech had a 30 day return window and that was extended till end of January for the holidays. So basically I had 45 days to decide to keep it. Sold me. Plus I had used a G920 and a G923 and they lasted for years. And I am just X Box X console.

I have heard Fanatec has some of the worst customer and logistics services.

I’ve heard the horror stories. People complain about Logitech sometimes but I think that’s venting their frustrations. Logitech seems to actually care about their customers. They must, they’ve planted LogiRich all over the place to help their customers. I think that counts for a lot.

For you and anyone else considering switching. It seems theyre having some issues. The new clubsport wheel doesnt even have their Sony certification yet.

@myxbert - After briefly owing a TGT2 I can say that the G Pro's fan is MUCH quieter. It only really spins up after high torque sessions, even then it's not obtrusive. It's also situated at the rear whereas the TGT is at the top - so is more noticeable anyway.

No smell, other than a nice "new smell" when you unpack it. 🙂
And also no high pitched squealing - which is why I returned the TGT.

I would be super pissed if I had bought on Black Friday and still did not have product. Hopefully, Logitech can have a handbrake, shifter and some new wheel options soon!

I had the TGT-2 and G Pro. The TGT-2 had a strong chemical plastic smell, even opening the window didn't help, and eventually, it gave me a headache. I sent it for warranty after a few months, but despite the complaint being acknowledged, the "service" didn't eliminate the smell. I sold it the next day.

The G Pro has a subtle, light, plastic smell; you'd have to put your nose near the fan to notice it. In a regular position, you won't smell it even after hours. After the TGT-2 experience, I was sensitive to odors.

As for noise, it's barely noticeable. The G Pro has different issues, more on the software side in various games or the lack of an ecosystem. Quality-wise, though, it's solid. Even though I sold it, I'm keeping an eye on any changes and might consider buying it again in the future.

Hi guys,
thank you very much for your advice and for sharing your experiences. I really appreciate it.
All in all Logitech is the best choice for me. For the beginning the system is fine for me and I am sure there will be more devices to come.

Fanatec....
Is this a Fanatec killer? No, no Fanatec is killing itself. Cheers.

I have a full Logitech G Pro setup For PS5. When the new Forza came out I went back to my Fanatec DD1 PS4/Xbox setup. I decided to order some Black Friday stuff for the Fanatec setup. Everything I ordered was in stock. To make a long story short the order never shipped and they could never answer why or finally process my requested order cancellation. I finally did a chargeback with PayPal and got my refund this week. No way I will order from them again. Time for a Fanatec fire sale of all my old Fanatec gear. I am going back to my Logitech setup but I really want a Xbox compatible wheel that I can add to my base so I can use both consoles in one wheel system. I am frustrated with Logitech becasue I bought into their system early on thinking they would bring us out a new wheel to give us cross platform capabilities. It worries me because nothing has been brought out yet. I am covered on the PC side because I bought a new Simucube Pro 2 and GSI wheel.

I don’t play Xbox but I always find the PlayStation wheel or Xbox wheel thing a bit weird. A wheel is a wheel. It can’t solely be because of the different buttons? Must be some software thing and why they can’t make it so one wheel does them all blows my mind.

If I am remembering right the Playstation compatible wheelbases have the PlayStation chip in the base where as the Xbox compatible wheelbases have the chip in the wheel itself. I know Fanatec is like this and I thought in the beginning of the Logitech G Pro it was mentioned if you buy the PS5 base you could add a new Xbox compatible wheel and get cross platform compatibility. Even if it is a standard wheel I would still like to have a Xbox wheel so I can play on both systems and I can unload the Fanatec stuff.

In my opinion all “chips” should just be in the wheel base. But if it’s possible to buy a rim at a low price then same difference I guess.

God I'm glad that I jumped on board the G-Pro Wheel train when I did. One of those big purchase decisions that turned out to be vindicated and impacted life in a positive way! I'd love a Pro shifter but the driving force one continues to suffice. 5 years old and still works alright after hundreds of thousands of shifts. Logitech = quality.

First impressions of my new G Pro. I received the wheel yesterday so only few hours using new wheel

This is my second Wheel, so not experienced racer. My first was Logitech MOMO red one with PC, years ago. Now I play PS5 / GT7.
I made descision between Fanatec CSL and Logitech G PRO. But I also have a chance to try Thrustmaster t GT 2 for a week. What a difference between T GT 2 and DD G PRO!!! for me its like night and day. Much smoother, amazing force feedback, great pedals. And the wheel is simple but excellent placement of all buttons and controls. Wheel size 30cm is more comfortable than 28 on TGT2. So in comparison whith TGT2 only positive feedback.
I use Logitech recommended settings Wheel: FFB Filter 8 / Dampener 15 / TF Audio 100 / Strength 6 / Brake Force 22, In Game GT7 Vibration sensitivity 40 / Max Torque 6 or 5 / FFB Sensitivity 1

So far amazing experience. Thumbs up Logitech

Welcome to the club! Best wheel and pedals for GT7 in my opinion.

I also had the Momo! Loved it. And like you, went from Momo to G Pro after many years.

Hello good afternoon Rich, I received my G pro steering wheel last week and I have come across two problems.
1 TF Audio whenever I start the game I have to change the values and put mine back in because it is very high despite the value being at what I set.
2 the angle I set on the G pro is 900º and whenever I restart a track, press the menu button or hit a barrier within the track it jumps back to 1080.
I've already updated the firmware, I've seen and read what was written here, I've rectified everything and it's still the same, I discovered this forum because support is taking a long time to respond to something that I'm also not happy with, as already mentioned here I was I was in doubt between fanatec and logitech, and decided on logitech because it has a lot of your material and is your fan, but this time I'm a little disappointed...

Best Regards

Ps:embarrassed:r if anyone has had these problems and solved them, that would also be a good help, all help is welcome.
