An earlier rumor pegged the price at €180-190. Which was right in line with my own expectation. Even if you add €50-75 for the optional shifter it sits in a completely unchallenged price segment, undercutting the T300 or Fanatec offerings nicely.
Let's hope so. Because £300 is far too expensive for the tech inside, and outside the budgets of most people, as the T300 has proved.

Are we really going to complain that the wheel looks cluttered?

Kers goes to 11. It's 1 more than 10.

Bloody ridiculous price. As said, £200, I might have bought one. At £300, Logitech can bugger off.

The 399.99 Euro price was on the Amazon.de website page, before that was taken down.

Yes, of course until Logitech announce this officially, price is speculation. However, you've still got to take that price as what it could be at this point in time.

All of us, potential buyers or not, will be shocked if that is the price.

Those FFB engines looks bit wider on G29 than G27, promising.. Probably we get stronger FFB.
I'm not so sure... http://jlvrh.de/G27_UK.htm looks pretty similar layout to me. The helical cut gearing statement sounds like the central cog thing is going to be identical... Maybe the motors are a little bigger to compensate for the heavier rim, but it won't be a big difference.

Edit: Remember that the G27 wheel body is relatively small, and so the motors shown in the pictures are not going to be huge. The T300 motor is a lot bigger, and the big chunky motor in the T500 is multiple times the size of a G27 motor.

If they make any motor change I assume they would go brushless, which would potentially give a better feel, but still wouldn't justify the huge price increase. 299 pounds is currently €410 which is twice what I would expect to pay for a G27 (which includes shifter!)

300 pounds? **** that. I'll just not get any racing games for my ps4 then, if there's not going to be any entry level ffb options on the market.

£299.99 RRP?

No thanks. Not unless something has changed under the hood and the FFB has improved.

I wouldn't buy it anyway, especially if my G27 doesn't get supported on the PS4, because I fear that I'd be in the same position again come the launch of the PS5. I'm not made of money and I won't replace my wheel for each next-gen console.

Logitech can 🤬 themselves, as can Sony. I still refuse to give either company any more of my money.

£299.99 = 400+€ :dunce:🤬

Hopping there is something lost in translation here...

From what is know R&D can hardly justify that price tag; is Sony’s licensing chip that expensive?

Agree that the price is ridiculous, but Ian_83 you got to spend some money if you want to enjoy this hobby, you know. Logitech obviously don’t deserve them, but you can always go for the T300, or just the PC route. In any case it is not going to be free.

My G27 isn't 2 years old. I bought it direct from Logitech so paid top money for it (foolish I know). I have got a PS4, not a cheap purchase, I have to buy the game, I then need to pay Sony each month so that I can play online. There will be paid DLC for the game.

I then need to buy another 🤬 wheel as well.

The T300 is unreliable, I wouldn't waste my money on one for fear of it failing just beyond the warranty, or the hassle of it failing during the warranty period. Let's be realistic here, that wheel has issues.

I'm done.

I see where you are coming from. May be the PC route will be your best bet and if you are so angry at Sony – you can always sell the PS4 and invest the money in the PC.

/offtopic

This is what I'm considering. My PC isn't top spec but it can handle games at reasonable settings.

I need a new screen and I have to change the setup because my PC is for work use and the office is small and wouldn't be comfortable with a racing rig on there, unless I can rearrange and simplify the space.

I have thought about selling the console gear many times recently. It's just collecting dust at the moment. I could actually use the money to get my car back on the road and have some real driving fun. Sure it would cost more, but its an option for me. :)

Hmmm.

Was the Eurogamer article even real though? There is no source, no quote and we all know how websites like to spread rumours by having exclusive reports like this.

£300 without the shifter (an extra £45)! A good £100 more than expected, put me off getting one :( And if the PS4 version really won't work with the PC next to no chance of Logitech getting any money from me. I am absolutely gutted as I was really hoping this would be a good, mid range wheel for the PS4. :banghead:
