“Our fans have been asking for a PS4 wheel since launch of the system,” said Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of the Logitech gaming business.

Err...nope...I'm pretty sure that the 17,694 (& counting) people who voted here have been asking for compatibility for their existing wheels.

I'l be sticking with my G27 and will go Thrustmaster or Fanatec if/when I upgrade. Logitech must think their customers are pretty dumb to throw a DFGT at a G27, remove the shifter and sell it as a premium product that costs more than the G27, and to then re-sell what appears to be the same shifter separately.

Who in their right mind is going to want to pay money for this?

Went to Australia EBGames.
Preorder is now available
Price:
- G29 wheel $499.95
- Shifter $79.95
Release in 30th September.
Don't know why September I thought next month??

Expected availability is beginning July for G29, and beginning October for G920 according Logitech press releases. E3 focus seems to be on G920 however. Maybe a last minute hinder?

Unfortunately some fools will

And the Driving Force Shifter is not compatible with the PS3.....

Do you know who you're dealing with Logitech?....

I guess I'll be on that list too... :(

I had a PS4 since june last year and I waited for a wheel that will work for PS3, PS4 and PC. I remember I saw both Logitech Driving Force GT (2 years ago with a price tag of 183 USD) and T500 RS back then (Last year but I didn't bother to check the local price).

Anyway I saw the online prices for the T300 RS, I thought it was too expensive and based on what a lot of people said, it had many problems so I thought i better wait for a new Logitech wheel, i thought it will be much cheaper and it will have a great reliability compared to Thurstmaster.

And now all i see is a G27 with DFGT faces & buttons for a price tag of T300 and it doesn't comes with a Shifter as it's an add on.

I'm really disappointed with that.

I'm thinking about just getting G27

I wouldn't recommend Logitech to anyone now. As far as I'm concerned they have terrible customer support.

I doubt that I'll be doing any SIM racing on the PS4 at all. The console industry has become too greedy now and I'm sick of it.
Terrible? I thought it was Thurstmaster who have a terrible customer support?

I was planning to buy a used G27 then move on to T300 RS but I guess after reading your post, I might not.

Which platform are you using???

Logitech have screwed PlayStation users hard, that's why I can't rate them anymore.

If you're using a PC only, then a G27 is okay......but personally I wouldn't buy a G27 because I hate Logitech.

Logitech have pretty excellent customer support, they'll replace hardware virtually no questions asked, and I've only ever heard good things about their customer support.

The people who have screwed console racers are MS and Sony. MS decided to make a whole new protocol that renders all old hardware completely unusable, and Sony require a 'security chip' to allow hardware to connect to the PS4. The only way Thrustmaster got the T500RS to be compatible is by somehow getting developers to build in support for the wheel into their games, which means it's still unusable outside of supported games. So don't blame Logitech, blame the console manufacturers.

Ps4 allows any device support inside the game itself. All is needed for the developer to enable it are the drivers which I guess Thrustmaster provided. Logitech just does not want to pay the licensing fees and included them into the prices of those new wheels. You don't need a wheel for the OS so I don't see a problem. I guess native usb device usage without authorization is disabled because of all the PS3 hacking but there are options which Logitech just ignored.

Logitech support is awesome, it's the new pricing that's insane.

Also I know that headset is not the same as a controller but some of them where patched in after launch and certainly don't have any security chips in them. I think it's more or less a licensing thing.

"On PS3 and PS4 there is no generic wheel support within the operating system like it is on Xbox 360 or One.

On PS every game needs to integrate special drivers to make a peripheral work. But it is not difficult to implement those drivers. The challenge for us was to develop those drivers. We now gave the drivers to the game developers and you can expect more compatible games in future."

That's a quote from Fanatec blog written by Thomas Jackermeier

How are we supposed to know if this wheel performs exacty the same as the G25/7? I must be the only one who doesn't seem to really care much about the price since the G27 was one of the most amazing purchases I've ever made in my life and I'd be happy to pay a premium for PS4 support.

20 sec: "We've kept the dual motor transmission from the G27, blah, blah, blah."

Will it handle 100% lie the G27? Who knows. But at this point we're fairly confident we won't be seeing any major improvements over the G27. The G27 is an awesome wheel, no doubt about that. But for me personally, $100+G27's price just for PS4 compatibility is not considerable.

How good is the G27 for you? Does it handle good?

I've been using my G25 setup for years, with my pedals reverse mounted using the Perfect Pedal mod. What I want to know is, will I just be able to plug in and use my existing G25 pedals to use with the G29 wheel? I see no reason to bother mucking about with these ones if I can help it.
