So 400 euros for what's basically a G27 in a different housing. The G27 wasn't much of an improvement over the G25 anyway, so no thanks. Why anyone would choose this over a T300 with the pedal kit is beyond me.
Easy: Availability. G29 will be in all stores (e.g. mediamarkt) sitting right next to the PS4. T300 is still very hard to find even 9 months after launch.

That's certainly an advantage. But I would think most people, when forced to choose (put a bit bluntly) between 'inferior wheel' now or 'superior wheel' later, they'd pick the latter. At 400 euros, it's not for the casual players, these will go for the cheaper T100 instead (or maybe even a T80).

You could actually just get a T100 to bridge the gap and also order the T300. It will cost you the same as a G29. Then get rid of the T100 after you get the T300.

Project cars have updated their site to show they support G29 and G920. (no mention of g25/g27for the consoles)
Yes, patch 1.4 adds support for it.

Everyone seems to be forgetting that Logitech have made no announcements regarding compatibility of older wheels like the DFGT, G27, & G25. Everyone just seems to be automatically assuming that they won't work based on the fact they haven't said that they will work (yet).

Will be interesting to see how things pan out over the coming weeks & months.

Considering that Logitech won't even provide a shifter to be included with their $400 wheel, I'd venture that they won't let us use our old wheels either.

I'm thinking T300 + Ricmotech adapter (ricmotech.com/product_p/rmt-t500w2g27p.htm) would be a better overall package than the G29. I can forego the shifter to keep price down (I rarely use the one with my G25 anyways). Does anyone have any experience with the adapter and whether it causes any issues with the T300?

They will put progressive spring for the brake pedal, or maybe just some dampening rubber to get that non-linear feel without using a loadcell (pressure-sensitive)
This really starts to sound bit too expensive wheel.. If prize drop on reseller on around 300€ or under will grab this.. That T300 + G27 pedals starts to sound more than a deal.

Springs... Uff, if prize drop a bit concern is only is pedal brake housing/mechanism same, could I fit in my old AP Electrix pressure sensitive brake mod.

The size makes sense for the G29/920. There's also more weight on the wheel too, with the button pods. It's still a shame they didn't upgrade these wheels more substantially, especially given they're $100 more than their predecessor and given they've had 6 years to work on them.

I think the Xbox One compatibility limits what they can add to the wheel. My understanding is Microsoft's philosophy dictates if the Xbox One doesn't support it, the officially licensed accessory can't have it. It's too bad Logitech didn't add something to the G920 to make up for the omissions. I'm very surprised it doesn't have vibration motors, for example.

Xbox One no longer uses Xinput. From this Eurogamer article:
Any piece of software could still understand any wheel as long as the software developer wanted to spend some resources on writing a driver (or wrapper) for it, as long as the console allowed games to get direct access to the peripheral. Poor excuses are poor. Everyone just wants more money. It's as simple as that.

At this time I'm only waiting for a week until E3. If no announcement is made, my g27 will be on eBay and I'll be thinking about the t300

I have the adapter and it works just fine. Although I notice when I calibrate the pedals there is quite a lot of dead zone, like 1 cm maybe. I don't know if that is just the way the pedals are (I don't recall ever calibrating them in a game with the G27), or if the adapter isn't recognizing the full range. But other than that, it's $30 well spent (CDN and shipping). I prefer the shape of the G27 pedals over the T3PA anyway.

I need that rim, but it's not sold in Canada yet. At least nowhere I've looked.

If Logitech really want to do a money-grab, they should just release an "official" PS4 adapter dongle for the DFGT/G27... it wouldn't cost them much to produce, and they could charge $50 each and make a small fortune. I would certainly buy one (cheaper than buying a new wheel).

They would make a lot more money by just selling the software driver as a PSN download.

T300+g27 pedal is good, very good, i use that set up about 3 months

Why doesn't the G290 include the rev lights, the adjustment buttons and dial?

And I still can't believe they haven't fixed the icon on the shifter even though you push down 6th to reverse. lol

The G29 Is PC Compatible too you will have to download the software. But I wouldn't buy A Logitech Wheel, Because it is the Same wheel plus a couple of buttons added, Minus the shifter, plus $100.00? more expensive???

I'm just going to paste my response from another forum...

Holy price jump...

I saw absolutely nothing in the video to show that this wheel is much more than a redesigned G27. So we go from $229...to $458 for the same equipment...with some new buttons on the wheel? Jesus what a f_cking joke. On the plus side, perhaps a G27 will drop in price by comparison.

Even at discount the $400 wheel will be what, maybe $320? Still over $100 more...without a manual shifter.

There is a reason people buy/own the G27. For between $200-250 you get:
-Three pedals
-Wheel w/ buttons
-Paddle shifters
-Manual shifter
-Button box

None of these are the best components, but that's the winning formula. Everything you need to race effectively (keep in mind any kind of wheel stand/base/platform is $150+ if you don't build one yourself). Logitech has good support and it's a solid performer. It's never been the best wheel, shifter or pedals. But you got it all for a price less than most steering wheels. They've gone way outside of their advantage zone with this. If they wanted to be smart, this should have been $349.99 w/ shifter included. As it stands I see zero reason to purchase one over the Thrustmaster T300 (which is apparently an excellent wheel).

Colour me hugely unimpressed.

EDIT: Yes, I don't need this wheel, so I'm not even a customer - just really think they missed the mark on this.

My Ricmotech cable + T300RS combo has been flawless. I recommend it too. Now using my G27 pedals with brand new T300RS, the old wheel malfunctioned.

Next Time you see this Promo PLEASE Inbox ME!!!! Thanx.

Not going to happen, as Logitech still sells new G27's and an adapter would mean competing with their own G29.

I am pretty sure the G27 is no longer in production and what your seeing still for sale is old stock.

I like how these guys talk about all the engineering that went into redesigning steering wheel buttons, and it's the same wheel. But now it's worth $400+ shifter. I hope the MSRP is just a feeler.

The non-discount price for a G27 was always massive. In Australian dollars we're talking something like 450, compared to a street price that went as low as 150, and generally hovered around 250-300.

True, but we're talking basically the same wheel without a shifter for $100 more. Even at a discounted price will still be too high in my opinion.

If that's true, they have a huge amount of old stock. The demand for the G27 was still there, PC gamers like the wheel and it was (and still probably is) the best value wheel out there for use on a PC..............

..........I didn't say that it's the best wheel, but bang for buck, nothing can really compete.

I'm not sure to be honest, as I can't find any info on the matter, but are you aware they re-released it only two years ago?
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/new-box-design-g27.283146/

And even if that were the case, that allegedly old stock is being sold as new at pretty much every major shop in the world, so a PS4 adapter for the G27 would still mean Logitech competing with their very own new product.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NT9TK4/?tag=gtplanet-20

edit: BTW by all that I mean with an adapter you would essentially be purchasing the same product, both new as both are available in stores, but with Logitech losing $150+ for each G27+adapter sale when someone chooses that as their first wheel instead of the more expensive G29 (that essentially is the same thing); or even more so in losses if you consider the separate G29 shifter ($200) or those people that are going to replace their G27 entirely to get PS4 support ($350 -- assuming the adapter would cost $50). With that said and knowing both are still on sale today, Logitech certainly won't release an adapter for the G27.
