Easy: Availability. G29 will be in all stores (e.g. mediamarkt) sitting right next to the PS4. T300 is still very hard to find even 9 months after launch. So 400 euros for what's basically a G27 in a different housing. The G27 wasn't much of an improvement over the G25 anyway, so no thanks. Why anyone would choose this over a T300 with the pedal kit is beyond me.
That's certainly an advantage. But I would think most people, when forced to choose (put a bit bluntly) between 'inferior wheel' now or 'superior wheel' later, they'd pick the latter. At 400 euros, it's not for the casual players, these will go for the cheaper T100 instead (or maybe even a T80).Easy: Availability. Yes, patch 1.4 adds support for it.http://www.projectcarsgame.com/beyond-reality.html
Project cars have updated their site to show they support G29 and G920. (no mention of g25/g27for the consoles)
Everyone seems to be forgetting that Logitech have made no announcements regarding compatibility of older wheels like the DFGT, G27, & G25. Everyone just seems to be automatically assuming that they won't work based on the fact they haven't said that they will work (yet).
Will be interesting to see how things pan out over the coming weeks & months.
This really starts to sound bit too expensive wheel.. If prize drop on reseller on around 300€ or under will grab this.. That T300 + G27 pedals starts to sound more than a deal. They will put progressive spring for the brake pedal, or maybe just some dampening rubber to get that non-linear feel without using a loadcell (pressure-sensitive)
Any piece of software could still understand any wheel as long as the software developer wanted to spend some resources on writing a driver (or wrapper) for it, as long as the console allowed games to get direct access to the peripheral. Poor excuses are poor. Everyone just wants more money. It's as simple as that. The size makes sense for the G29/920. There's also more weight on the wheel too, with the button pods. It's still a shame they didn't upgrade these wheels more substantially, especially given they're $100 more than their predecessor and given they've had 6 years to work on them.
I think the Xbox One compatibility limits what they can add to the wheel. My understanding is Microsoft's philosophy dictates if the Xbox One doesn't support it, the officially licensed accessory can't have it. It's too bad Logitech didn't add something to the G920 to make up for the omissions. I'm very surprised it doesn't have vibration motors, for example.
Xbox One no longer uses Xinput. From this Eurogamer article:
I'm thinking T300 + Ricmotech adapter (ricmotech.com/product_p/rmt-t500w2g27p.htm) would be a better overall package than the G29. I can forego the shifter to keep price down (I rarely use the one with my G25 anyways). Does anyone have any experience with the adapter and whether it causes any issues with the T300?
With that price? this one every day, every hour

They would make a lot more money by just selling the software driver as a PSN download. If Logitech really want to do a money-grab, they should just release an "official" PS4 adapter dongle for the DFGT/G27... it wouldn't cost them much to produce, and they could charge $50 each and make a small fortune. I would certainly buy one (cheaper than buying a new wheel).

Why doesn't the G290 include the rev lights, the adjustment buttons and dial?

And I still can't believe they haven't fixed the icon on the shifter even though you push down 6th to reverse. lol

take the apx. 1-2 min to browse "productivity and entertainment" for the wheel, just as I did. Do everyone favor and if you find this wheel is on sale again please post so other members can also reap the benefit.

I am pretty sure the G27 is no longer in production and what your seeing still for sale is old stock. Not going to happen, as Logitech still sells new G27's and an adapter would mean competing with their own G29.
I hope the MSRP is just a feeler.
True, but we're talking basically the same wheel without a shifter for $100 more. Even at a discounted price will still be too high in my opinion. The non-discount price for a G27 was always massive. In Australian dollars we're talking something like 450, compared to a street price that went as low as 150, and generally hovered around 250-300.
If that's true, they have a huge amount of old stock. The demand for the G27 was still there, PC gamers like the wheel and it was (and still probably is) the best value wheel out there for use on a PC..............I am pretty sure the G27 is no longer in production and what your seeing still for sale is old stock.
