I sense a little hostility and to be honest i think i like it. Its what gets the competitive juices flowing. Cant wait for the next rounds and meeting some of you guys in person. Yep i said it. See yall in the finals.

Just a sampler of your asinine nature.
Last I checked it doesn't matter if a thread is closed, you were still a total jerk in almost every post you had in that thread.
I invite everyone to read every post you made in that thread to see exactly what you're admitting to:

As to you proving yourself? I look forward to it and I thank you for giving me the extra competitive energy I need just to beat your arrogant carcass.

👍

STFU Both of you, don't you dare turn this thread into that stupid garbage that happened in the grasshopper thread. GTFO and PM each other if you want to argue.

I apologize for this happening in your thread GT Motion. But thank you for proving my point, that "garbage" in the grasshopper thread was caused by a certain someone.

Only because I was the main one to speak up. Others share my feelings, I can assure you.

The thread itself was not garbage and I commend you for bringing up the topic, however, the ensuing mess was initiated by you as well.

^example of how to make being confident not sound arrogant.

On another note JerseyBoy I totally agree :D (to the first part, I'm not that confident about orlando :) )

My mistake, you didn't initiate the thread. Commendation revoked.

No way in hell bro  I'm content with just lurkin' it for the remainder of Round 1 - but thanks for the compliment! :dopey: Actually I've been enjoying the Super GT league I've been competing in too much to drag myself back for these crappy TT's.

I'll say it again (I probably sound like a broken record), but I have no interest in the prizes up for grabs (already have a back up DFGT & Obutto Ozone cockpit which shats on the Playseat) or bragging rights this early on in these, IMO poorly chosen TT's. I don't want to sound like I'm making excuse as to why I can't get torward the top...the truth is I just don't care atm. I'm waiting for Round 3 (maybe Round 2 if I enjoy the combos) to turn up the wick and put forth a real effort, but for now I will just do what is necessary to safely advance, while saving my hair for the later rounds lol. I'm especially looking forward to head to head racing in the finals (if I make it) where all previous TT's won't mean a damn thing, and it will be a test of who can jump in a car and be competitive right off the bat, without a unrealistic amount of seat time or writing off 1000 cars trying to get that perfect lap.

Anyways, good luck to the rest of you in your pursuit of Round 1 success - I have massive respect for your dedication and persistence 👍

Edit: Is see R1600 has already filled in the blank for me 👍

Haha! Alright brother, I feel ya. Look forward to watching you do some work in the later rounds. When this round is done, expect me to be joining your online races, and you better be joining mine! 👍

Time to calm down people. We don't like name calling or any type of personal attack here.

I wonder what the UK GT Academy organisers think when they see this tripe going on. Don't believe they monitor this forum? Think again. It's a fact.

I haven't been playing because my wife was away for about a month and I completely lost motivation to do anything. I spent around 2 hours total on the first 2 tracks after week 1, none at the cape. I feel it's going to hurt me a lot because it takes time to get up to speed. I also suck at street tracks and I have a feeling they are going to rape me with that.

My wife is back and I feel like doing laps soooo bad but shes been away for so long, it would just be stupid to spend time on that, specially since I already got the prizes. Shes here to stay and I'll come back with full force next round, but again I have a feeling it wont be enough because of the stupid street courses. Oh well, gotta practice what I'm bad at, right?

The competition has been super fun, as much fun as I expected it to be, you guys are great. This forum makes it so much nicer too, I'm glad I found it. It woudn't be the same without it.

Congrats to you guys on the top, some amazing times. I hope my tsukuba time doesn't get blasted away though, it is the only track I tried until I thought I couldn't do better. I need at least SOMETHING to make me feel good about being all the way back to 4th or something now

What are you saying? What is your point?
From the rule on http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/academy/rules:
"If Sponsor cannot verify a Round 3-winning contestant’s age, residency, region qualification or other factors deemed essential by Sponsor for participation in the National Finals, or if a Round 3-winning contestant is not available to attend the National Finals, Sponsor may select an alternate contestant beginning with the contestant with the next highest score in the relevant region."

I think that sums it up. Correct me if I got your point wrong, Sphinx.

Are you saying that the sponsors are going to be unable to "verify someones strength of character?"
I read that as legal qualifications not moral.

Ok so you will get DQ'ed for calling names on this forum? I get the rules but so far nothing that bad has been said. But maybe my feelings are a lil tougher then some of the folks on here. :sly:

Someone called everyone in the Weekly Community Race "pathetic" two weeks ago :(
It hurt my feelings. ;)
I'm sure that's just a nice way of saying "if you're in a wheelchair, but got this far in the competition with a controller, you can't go to Orlando."
Or maybe "if you do not fit our aforementioned physical requirements for fitting in one of our cars, you won't be going to orlando."

I highly doubt that would DQ anyone from stuff that has been said in this sub-forum, nothing has been that bad. I do however think if your attitude and work ethic is poor when they meet you in person they might go with someone else.

Yeah he did, discouraged me from trying that's for sure :P Hopefully round 2 brings some interesting car track combos because I sure am tired of these car/track combos.

*edit*

wow, first guy in the 5:10's

Damn, i heard Hunk say it at the start of round one didn't really think much of it but that dude 3wide is definitely a problem.

Ridiculous - The guy took off 4 tenths from his already first place time in a single night (looks like a productive all-nighter). I think that might be lights out...

He has gone faster than I could imagine at Rome, beat my Cape time by .011, and is over a tenth faster at Tsukuba.

It's almost a relief because it's almost not worth trying. I didn't get to play last night, but I'll probably give it a go this weekend. I know there's another .150 at Rome, another .50 at Tsukuba. The key is getting another .200 at Cape

I'll probably run for 2 hours at Cape and see: can I even imagine beating my previous best. It's certainly possible - in the replay it's obvious (1 tenth through sector 1, don't hit the wall in sector 2, hit the end of the ring better, and carry more speed up the hill after the ring...cross the finish at 2:44.6xx)...but if I am stuck in the 2:45's after a while, there's little hope I can post the 2:44.7xx needed to get me back in contention.

Edit - and all this assumes 3wide doesn't move an inch between now and Sunday night. For all we know he might go after Fix's .8 at Tsukuba, or try to get his own mid 2:44 at Cape...

Yeah when I saw him pop up on the board a few weeks ago I knew it was only a matter of time until he was on top. He's been #1 in Forza(or thereabouts) for a long time. I'm sure he could break 509's if he really wanted to or had to. Scary thing is he has played forza for so long he is probably not even 100% up to speed yet in GT. It's going to get interesting to say the least. I'm just glad I"ll be going to round 2 as that was my goal for this whole event. After that I know I'm done. I won't even try to pretend I can go to R3. Good luck and much to respect to those of you who will go on with this competition.👍

If he doesn't move then I think his times are beatable. For me, his tsukuba time is out of range for me. I drove for a few hours straight and didn't even get close to my previous best there. But I know for sure his rome and ring times are beatable. Do it! :P

*edit*

Does anyone know his name on iracing?
