3wide is cheating in Cape, just look his replays...

lol, I have no doubt he's not doing anything worse than any other top guys. 3wide is probably THE fastest driver in North America (yeah that means you too Canada) and no matter what you do to alter the rules, he's still going to be faster than every one else. Over in iRacing I have some very competitive times, like Top 5 in the world, but guess who is always squeeking out that extra tenth (or 3)...3wide.

Get over it, the kid is sick nasty fast.

He is cheating. Machines are not allowed to enter the competition.

What is he doing that the others in the top 10 replays are not? I have not watched his replay, and can't at the moment due to b spec race.

I highly doubt he would cheat. Simply because he does not have to. He simply took what everyone else did and did it better.

I will watch it later to verify.

thanks for everyone's help and suggestions. Nothing seemed to fix it yet. The fuzzy lines across the screen when driving suggest to me that the GPU is having trouble processing the game and sense noone else seems to have this problem perhaps I just got a PS3 w/ a slight flaw in it?

I ran a little today and it keep denying most my laps, but luckly it accepted a decent time, really sloppy though. I should be safe for round 1??? I may try some more tomorrow but its really draining to put down flying laps only to get denied all the time.

Something is definitely amuck somewhere.
I cannot run a single lap with my best lap ghost on.
It will freeze everytime.
Ran with out it but never beat my best time.
Not sure what would happen if I had.
Some others are having the same trouble as you apparently.

There is some notable talent here but we all have a while to go b4 we can start considering any of us as the best in north America (unless we are only speaking in GT5 world terms?)

If historically/ statistically speaking the world's best sim racer is Greger Huttu, then (as Huttu also suggest) Team-Redline's, Christian Syzmczak is the world's fastest simRacer. Which would also include the fastest in north America seeing as how he is from California.

Lol, I think were all just lucky that he can't enter this competition given his stint as a professional racing driver. He would make even us top guys seem slow, in gt5 and RL (as he used to do to guys like a.j. allmindinger in the lower formula)

Interestingly, there are a couple of current/former pro-drivers in the top100. I wonder how that is going to play out?

it makes perfect sense. A sim racer is a sim racer. There's also a lot of overlap with iracing (e.g. Fix).

Gt5 just came out - no one has adjusted to the physics. Gt5p didn't have a huge community outside forums like this (and the physics are a bit different than gt5), and gt4 didn't even have online play.

The forza players have been staying sharp with competition as new iterations of the game have kept coming out. The 2 new courses in this time trial are new for everyone, and tsukuba is in forza as well as gt.

+1

There you are. One of the guys I'm battling with for the last DFGT's :) 👍

Hey force! Yeah good luck achieving that. For me I'm done. My PS3 hates cape and keeps freezing up. I've maybe done 20 attempts at the track and it only recorded 2 of my laps. :ouch:

Too frustrating to even bother with. I need to work on finding another ps3 as I can't afford for this to happen in later rounds

I don't like when anyone puts a "this guy is the best" title on anyone, especially when its time trials. I want to see people with championship wins, race wins, etc to show they are the best, not a TT.

Agreed GT Motion, your only as good as yourlast race and everyone is certainly beatable.

That's why I was speaking in historical /statistical sense, but if you don't happen to know who greger huttu or any of team redline is, but you "want to see" just years and years and years (and many weekends) of wins and championships and just general world domination you would def like these guys.

But yes, Schumacher, Rossi, Huttu are all beatable and no one is definitively "the best"

I have been a member of iRacing from the launch :) I know Huttu from there and have been in servers with him. His record is unbelievable and he is a great guy, always humble. If I had to pick a "best" it would definitely be him. I know team redline too, they are probably the best team on the planet, I only say that because they can step to the plate and beat any other team out there if they had too and they have proven it.

3wide is good racer too. Check out ifcaracing.com I know he ran the Spec series a few times. I'm not sure if he is the best. But we will find out at the end of the academy. We also need to remember this is a US only comp. If it was world we would have Backone,Cam,Daveyskills,Xtremeskills,Nikrox,Deano,Darkracer to deal with. At least when the academy is done we will know who the best US GT5 player is. 3wide has my vote.

I would say we will find out who performed the best. The top 10 guys are probably all about on par with each other when it comes to skill, it will be about who makes mistakes in the races. Also, the winner of GT Academy will be who qualifies best physically and quickly in real cars not GT5 :)

When it comes to IFCA, I would have to say that TRC Smokinu is the man to beat. He has the most team and individual titles in spec. Too bad he is Canadian and couldn't compete in this.

There are tons of other drivers worldwide, but since this is a US only competition, I think the results will be a fair representation of who is at the top of this game. This is not about who COULD be the best, it is about who IS the best. In order to win this thing you have to have a few other things besides speed. One of them being a PS3, the other being a copy of GT5.

Good luck to everyone in round 2, especially Hunk, go TRC!

Smokinu is beastly one of the better racers. Jed was fast too.
I saw Blade on the LB he is my rabbit for round 2.👍

They'll get disqualified after round 3. Rules have a "no-pro" clause.

They must not have previously held a National A or superior MSA license or equivalent in another FIA recognized ASN and not have competed in a national level Karting Championship for more than two full seasons.
