Is he on this forum or anywhere else? ...or is he one of those 'phantom' racers?
^^^ There is another guy with disgusting speed. ^^^
If 3Wide is #1 in the US (in FM3), then TRC Scooty is tied for 2nd with TRC Wildchild. Its disappointing that Im the top TRC representative in this competition when Im only the 6th or 7th quickest within my car club!
I find it rather interesting that some of the top Forza racers are top on GT5 because of course the likes of Daveyskills etc have also been top of the seasonal time trials. I say interesting because you would assume those forza players haven't properly adjusted to the physics engine on GT5 yet because there is a massive difference in the Forza/GT5 physics engines.

I know I'm having trouble adapting. If this competition was on Forza I feel like I'd be a shoe in for atleast the first two rounds. On GT5 I'm hopeless. Of course I have the added challenge of learning new physics and how to drive with a wheel at the same time. Which has had me wanting to throw the wheel out the nearest window more than once. Oh how I miss being able to kick back with my feet up in my recliner and be fast with my controller.
I think what's going on are the people who were Forza fast like me are struggling while those who easily adapted and rose quickly to the top of other games like RacePro, or Shift or even PGR are just as easily adapting to the GT5 physics. So beasts like Davey, 3wide and AJ among others are where they always are on any racing game. While people like me are going to have to toil in mediocrity for a while until we really learn the physics and tracks and then might be able to put up some decent speed.
And AJ, just shut up, 6th or 7th fastest in TRC...please. That's just silly talk.
Great times guys! Looks like it will be a fun competition for the rest of the event.
I've got some bad news (for me at least) Just tried Cape for the first time last night and the game freezes pretty much everylap (it won't even get half a lap if there is a ghost on) This happened with Tsukuba and Rome sometimes if I cross the line with a faster time than before (I think its freezing trying to upload the time I posted maybe?) But now at Cape it Freezes everytime I post a faster time. so only my very first lap of the track is posted (wish I would have practiced the track a bit b4 hand now and had a better first lap)
Also, sometimes (especially in hairpins) i notice fuzzy lines across the screen, as if the PS3 is gaving trouble rendering the game or something? does anyone else see this w/ their setup?
I was going to fight for the Playseat but now I'm worried that I won't pass round 1. Anyone in the Tampa area want to loan me their ps3 for a day?
Anyway, Best of Luck to the rest of you.

The reason I said interesting is because I believe one of the reasons is because to forza players hotlapping is something they have been doing for many years. A typical hardcore forza hotlapper would spend 2hrs just trying to shave two tenths off their laptime.
It may not be your PS3. I havn't had any trouble until today.
No fuzzy lines but mines frozen 3 times at the Cape this morning, between the last corner and the start/finish line.
Naturally.
BTW best of luck to you too.
EDIT: Make that 5 times.
EDIT: Make that 8 times.
EDIT: I'm unable to cross the start/finish line now. Freezes everytime.
It makes perfect sense. A sim racer is a sim racer. There's also a lot of overlap with iRacing (e.g. Fix).
+1 and I'm sure some others like me from rFactor/Simraceway. And I agree, If you are fast in one game, you shouldn't have much trouble getting up to speed in another.
Try resetting your internet connection. The same thing was happening to me at Rome a few weeks ago.
That's also been the case for GT Hotlappers and Gold Junkies for the last 10 years.
Like going from GT5p to GT5, or going from GT5 offline to GT5online.
But not everyone can adjust as fast, even the fastest guys take different time spans to get as good as they are. Don't sell the guy who works hard to be fast short.
it took me countless hours to achieve the times Fix achieved in a couple of hours.
So true...
I just hope that now I'm actually a better driver overall than when this started.
Hypothetical question - if you were to start round 1 over with the skills you have now, but still relatively unfamiliar with the car/track, would you put up better times more quickly?
I would hope so, but who knows...
Guys like z06fun...
thanks for everyone's help and suggestions. Nothing seemed to fix it yet. The fuzzy lines across the screen when driving suggest to me that the GPU is having trouble processing the game and sense noone else seems to have this problem perhaps I just got a PS3 w/ a slight flaw in it?
I ran a little today and it keep denying most my laps, but luckly it accepted a decent time, really sloppy though. I should be safe for round 1??? I may try some more tomorrow but its really draining to put down flying laps only to get denied all the time.
