Would you like to have a rewind option in GT 5? Why or why not?

What sorts of things do you think a rewind feature would be good for?

it would be good for people who cant drive,,, you know,, like ,,,,,,,XBOX players.

That doesn't make any sense... Xbox players can't drive?

I don't care about rewind, I won't use it, but I don't mind if its in. :)

I would rather see Rain or Night/day change than Rewind.

I dont see the point of it anyway, it doesnt help poor driver, poor driver should learn to drive, meaning that you follow the golden track user rules :

At first, learn your track, dont drive too quick, try to take all corner first at middle speed, then next lap you're going a bit faster, then faster, etc.. That's the only way to learn a racetrack and that doesnt take skill just patience to learn corners.

I tried, and I am still trying, to not be cocky.

Where, exactly, did you try to not be cocky?

My point of view is worth a lot. I know what it means to be fast, I know how to go fast.

Everything that I have said regarding racing is fact.

(I dont use a clutch either, if I did P1 would easily be mine 👍)

Yeah, no cockiness here. At all.

Does this thread have a point any more or are we just going to continue the urination contest?

I don't think it has much of a point anymore Duke.

I've started to think the the majority of threads (in GT5 to be specific) have actually started to go downhill since TGS. Now that so much is either confirmed or nearly confirmed, people are desperate to discuss something.

I thought the wait from e3 to gamescon to TGS passed really quickly because of speculation and decent conversation. Im not convinced the next 6 months are going to pass so quickly.

Oh, and GT5 should not have a rewind option.

If Simple SIM agrees, this thread should be locked. It's getting nowhere, and the results show clearly the majority doesn't want the feature.

I suggest talking to CORE Gen E Live on these forums. I have no doubt he could start laying down some fast laps in GT if given the chance. He's an amazingly fast player in the Xbox community.

The only game i really like the rewind feature in is Prince of Persia: Sands of time.

For the sole reason that the storyline basically revolves around it. In a racing game, it just doesn't fit.

I liked it in SOT also... thought it worked well in Braid too.

So waiting on F3, I've been playing some Dirt2 (Great game btw) And its a game that has rewind but they do it in a way thats pretty cool, and it could fit in nicely with GT5 if they would ever want to put it in. Dirts system being that rewind is not a option for the most difficult setting and their use is limited by the easier setting you choose. So for example GT5 pro settings it wouldnt be an option, only on standard physics. Just a thought...
Its a feature more casual players would probably have a blast with and it certainly isnt going to take anything away from me, so I say put it in. In the least it would probably make for some youtube controversy.

I reckon you'll be doing more miles, thus sharper after 10 restarts than after 10 rewinds, but maybe that's just me...

Completely irrelevant. As long as restarting makes you win, then it's the same as rewind.

Anyways, I'm quite happy to see the diversity in the poll. 👍 It proves not everyone has the same opinion, which is what I wanted to see.

I dont see diversity

60% do not want it in GT5
26% would never use it if it was in GT5
3% would not buy GT5 if it was included

That means 89% of GT5's fanbase does not care for the feature

Why should Kaz spend 1 hour on a feature that 90% of his fanbase does not care for?

Just you.

I am part of GT5's fan base, and I would like the feature as an OPTION. Nobody is requiring you to use it. It has NO affect in your gaming experience when you don't even bother using it.

Wrong.

89% of GTP's GT fanbase doesn't want it, even then we only make up a small sample of the millions of GT players around the globe.

First off, it's closer to 88% when you don't round up the numbers.

Second, your percentages are manipulated, and equal 88% of 141%, not 88% of 100%.

In reality, this poll would depict more likely that only around 63% (out of a 100%) of the people actually don't want feature.

Why should Kaz spend 1 hour on a feature that 90% of his fanbase does not care for?
I like how it suddenly jumped to 90%.

Fortunately, I already just proved that this poll only depicts that less than 2/3rd of the people don't want the feature & that the other 37% of the people are made up of other opinions.

And even then, a lot of those are probably people just saying that they personally don't want the feature, and who wouldn't care if it was in there for others to use.

And note that out of the 129 "No, it shouldn't be in GT5." votes so far, only 55 people have voted that they would never use the feature if it was in GT5.

According to the poll, your a very small part of the fanbase. While I'm not required to use it is it fair that others will have an easier time unlocking cars and winning races then I will?

Wrong.

I've seen this question brought up in other forums, the result is the same.

This poll was created in such a way to get away from a resounding no. The other poll, a simple yes or no, was more then enough.

Which is, again, a lousy way to get away from a definitive no the first poll produced.

Codename L
...what was that you were saying? Manipulated or not, those numbers just proved you wrong. ;)

If 90% would never use it, why include it?
