Lunar roving vehicle????!!!!!

I find it funny that so many people just assume that if PD hadn't scanned the Lunar rover that their favorite car would have been put in GT6. Well what if the Lunar car is your favorite car? Buzz Aldrin probably enjoyed it.

Buzz Aldrin never drove it. At least not on the moon. The rover was only used in Apollo 15, 16 and 17.

I think people could probably assume that their least favourite car would have replaced the rover, and it still would be an upgrade.

We most likely would have gotten something more useful. That's for sure.

I absolutely love this because it is such a unique thing.

I wonder if most people that doesn't like it would instead see their favorite/some popular sportscar modelled. Yes, most of the time in GT is usually spent driving cars as fast as possible around a track, but GT isn't "the ultimate racing simulator", it is "the real driving simulator", and "driving" is done with small weak cars, tractors, forklifts and trucks etc. as well as with sports cars and race cars. In fact only a small fraction of the world's driving is done in performance cars or race cars.

There is a lot more to driving than racing. And including such a unique vehicle that only a handful people have ever gotten to drive, is a nice celebration to the underdog vehicles that never reached a high speed, yet have carved their mark in driving history.

The announcement reminded me of this... 8-10 MPH... WTF are we gonna do with that? It's really coool and all to have a rover in the game, but I feel like it's useless

I do think it's a really nice albeit bonkers addition to the game...

... the GT arena is great as well. At first I thought it was Wembley stadium, but with the Moon already confirmed as a location, why would we need two places with no atmosphere?

:P

Ba-dum-tsh!

Its gonna be amazing having it with a Diablo GT2 in Photomode. :sly:

Yeah if you want to drive a fork lift or a lollop go work in BnQ Warehouse and get the "unique" feel your looking for

One could say the same about those who only want performance/sports/race cars, "go buy a car and take it to the track to get the feeling you are looking for". As I pointed out, there is much more to driving than just racing fast and sporty cars, and GT is a driving simulator and so should incorporate different kinds of driving.

I've done quite a lot of forklift driving during my summer jobs when I was younger so I know the feeling by know, it isn't that exciting. I didn't mean I want forklifts included in GT, it was a mere example of principle.

Don't mock this, remember GT6 features a realistic night sky with stars and signs and whatnot. I'm sure there'll be a "Special Event" on the moon with this Lunar Roving Vehicle, just to let us really see the details in the night sky.

Let's just hope for a Mars Rover DLC.

I can't wait to drive Cape Ring with only 1/6 gravity.
I don't think you will ever will come back down :D

I can't wait to take the Mercedes CLK on Cape Ring with full gravity to test out the new aerodynamics. :D

Honestly if it's as blazingly fast as the 1886 Patent Wagon i'll be happy.

The astronauts got it up to 11. Even though the top speed was supposed to be 8. :)

Why do so many people seem to think other cars will be able to drive on the moon? Driving the rover on it is a reality, driving cars with combustion engines and gas filled tires is not.

In addition I think believing that there will now be some sort of "gravity setting" is going way beyond the level of idiocy.

Personally,I think that the first patch for GT6 will patch out the hack that someone will have made that makes it so you can drive any car on the moon

So how long until someone stuffs a X1 engine & trans into it ? :P

But honestly, resources (time/gamedata) better spent on other things IMO, no Ariel Atom, no Premium JZA80, etc. Even with all the 'new' things, many GT fans are still dissappointed and/or not convinced a Day1 purchase is warranted.

I understand where people are coming from about the Land Rover, yes it did replace another potentially useful car, but PD has had the opportunity to model 100-200 cars since GT5 and I doubt anyone would have noticed one more or less supercar or every day driver. This is an attention getter for sure, and will make for great marketing and great buzz and it's just a part of PD's character to throw in a couple of unusual "fun" cars and I think it's overall good for the brand to do so. And I have to confess I'm looking forward to driving it, taking a few pictures etc.

And there's one thing no other console or PC sim will be able to do in the foreseeable future and that's have a press release like this:

"This months DLC: The moon"

Nice one PD, what an absolute waste of time. No wonder they didn't have time to finish the sound update, they were too busy with pointless gimmicks like this
