I think people get fussed about the fact it was developed in the first place, and would rather that time be spent on other things such as important road cars.
Understandable. It's only 1 car I still don't understand how it upsets people. This was probably developed on the side.

I love Gran Turismo as a video game and racing "simulator". But I also look at and enjoy Gran Turismo just as much as a sort of "Playable History of The Automobile", or as I've heard others refer to it, as a car museum you can play with.

If you appreciate that aspect of the game, you have to look at the Lunar Buggy being in GT as the greatest, most logical addition to the game's line-up that no one would ever think of. It's pretty much the most historical, and arguably the most famous 4 wheeled vehicle in human history. Perfect addition imo assuming there's a decently recreated Lunar environment to play around in (hopefully online). Not only as a car fan and GT fan, but also as a space/science geek.......this is just genius.

Thank-you, someone with common sense!

I lOVE PD for doing these amazing things! We had a car like Nike One in GT4 and now Lunar in GT6.
LRV was the first drivable car on moon and was on of the biggest achievements in human history and now we can interact with it on our game.

when does the cycle of, "they promised!", end when it comes to a video game's development? It's tough stuff.

In a thread about GT (which, I shouldn't have to remind you, this is), this is an incredibly relevant quote.

Perhaps you wouldn't find yourself in hot water so often if you stopped referring to others' opinions as "crap" seemingly only because they don't agree with you.

Four times in hot water in almost Three years, two of which were misunderstandings. I don't arise as much controversy as I contemplate doing to have been "banned" for three weeks last month. I'll deal with it though. The other times that I've been given a warning, I've fessed up to (two or three of the other times). The very last time, I had no idea that it was ban-worthy.

I'm surprised people are complaining, the Lunar Vehicle is a car and GT6 is a game that focuses on cars...

At least it actually existed unlike the "X" cars.

GT 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 = Most Ultimate Driving Simulator on Earth
GT6 = Most Ultimate Driving Simulator in the Solar System

I wonder what would happen online when the rammers show up. Does it become an elimination event with the goal to be the last one on the track that DIDN'T get shunted out into space?

Modding the rover?

I think this will be hillarious fun honestly. Could they have used the time to model other things people want? Yes. Is it needed? No. Then again people have complained about the "Coffee Break" stuff not being in for awhile and is that needed? No. Did they spend time on it? Yes.

It's just my opinion, take it or leave it. I just think the whole thing is funny and I welcome it.

To be fair, it's not just that they modelled one car. Because of it, they also modelled the moon and probably spent a good amount of time playing around with whatever mode or features are involved with it -- time that could've been spent elsewhere. Personally, I don't really mind it yet. It is a bit peculiar and seems ridiculously random for Gran Turismo and I'm really not sure how it fits, but I'm still curious and interested in the details which we don't know.

I wonder if its possible to repaint the rover with colors like Moonraker Black or Lunar Grey.

My jaw dropped when I saw the end of that GT6 video. Polyphony have always been masters of diversity, and I doubt anyone ever expected this car to be in the game. It wouldn't bother me even if Polyphony didn't model my favourite car in favour of driving this Lunar vehicle on the moon... I just want to praise them for their originality (And I've always been fascinated by space). Cannot wait... It's going to be amazing.

I wonder if there will be any Omega Boost easter eggs on the moon? A robotic arm perhaps? :sly:

I can only hope that PD includes the Saturn V rocket to get us to the moon in order to drive the Moon Rover, as a bonus stage. Imagine 'driving' the most powerfully built engine in history to the Moon! Please make this happen, Kaz, and secure your place as a god amongst mere mortal men.

And a trophy if you can get back to Earth. :D

If the Lunar Rover means the next step is the inclusion of Anakin Skywalker's pod racer, then I support PD 110%!

Imagine you could drive any car on the moon. The moon's gravity is just 1/6 of what it is on Earth. Imagine driving a real fast there and getting major airtime, going so fast that when you jump, you don't come back down, you're now on a low orbit around the moon.

I guess it's going to be available but then you'll have to drive it on track, just like the model T and the first Benz ever they put in previous installments.

Then you will accelerate to a cool 30K's an hour and after one minute say to yourself "**** it" :)
