The Astros won again. This time, we needed El Caballo (Carlos Lee) to get us some go-ahead runs to vault ahead of the Padres 5-4 in the Bot. of the 8th. Your winning pitcher is LaTroy Hawkins (HOU). Your losing pitcher is Luke Gregerson (SD). The series' final game will involve a pitching matchup between Roy Oswalt (HOU) vs. Josh Geer (SD).

Tough break for the Diamondbacks, losing 2-1 to the Washington Nationals at lovely Chase Field. John Lannan was the winning pitcher, and Joel Hanrahan picked up the save (his third). Doug Davis was the losing pitcher. Sunday's match will involve Max Scherzer (ARI) vs. Scott Olsen (WAS).

The MLB on FOX next Saturday has some action in San Francisco as the Giants will host the New York Mets at beautiful (and I really mean it) AT&T Park. Unforunately, the Giants from beautiful San Francisco took an ugly beating at Dodger Stadium, losing 8-0 against the hated Los Angeles Dodgers.

Here's your American League rundown:
* Tampa Bay Rays at Boston Red Sox (14-5; Tampa Bay Rays)
* Toronto Blue Jays at Oakland Athletics (6-4; Toronto Blue Jays)
* Texas Rangers at Chicago White Sox (3-2; CHICAGO WHITE SOX)
* Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians (4-0; Detroit Tigers)
* New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles (12-5; BALTIMORE ORIOLES)
* Seattle Mariners at Minnesota Twins (9-6; MINNESOTA TWINS)
* Kansas City Royals at Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (1-0; LOS ANGELES ANGELS OF ANAHEIM)

Congratulations to all other winners from today's/tonight's games.

Well 2 games with manager AJ Finch and new staff, 0-2 so far in this series against the Nationals.

Last night, I didn't like his unexpected decision to have Chad Tracy pinch hit for Doug Davis in the 6th inning when the Nationals were only up 1-0, Doug Davis had a great outing and he probably could of driven home a couple runners home in that bases loaded situation.

Astros won their first-ever series this season. We pounded San Diego 12-5. There is still Tampa Bay at Boston later tonight on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. And as far as my Astros are concerned, our next series will be in UNOMoto country- the Colorado Rockies.

D-Backs finally won a game yesterday against the Nats, 10-8.

They play the Cincinnati Reds tonight.

Get out the broom,Tribe got swept by the Tigers.

We are officially now the worst team in baseball.Local news is airing rumours about Clevelands front office considering a managerial change.
(SIGH),could be a long season in Cleveland.:crazy:

No Astros action until tomorrow night. Really, I'll have to alternate between the Astros at the Rockies and the Rockets at Lakers game. Busy sports night for me tomorrow night.

To kind of pass the time, I did a little YouTube video:

Here, I ask which league has the better-looking ballparks: American League or National League? I name as many as I can, and I know I've omitted a few other favorites. But yeah.

I heard that the Mets' winning streak got snapped by the Braves. So congratulations to Atlanta in taking down the New York Mets.

Giants offense picked up and got John his 298th

11-7 over Nats...

Oh yeah, we took 2/3 over the Dodgers.

Giants have yet to lose a home series.

I have a bad feeling it's going to be a long, hot summer here in Phoenix. D-Backs lost 2 of 3 against the Nationals, and lost pretty bad last night against the Reds, 13-5.

If the Rockies "just suck," then explain why my Astros lost 12-1 in Denver...

If it helps any....Last night was actually a double header and you didn't know it. On this little field in a suburb of Denver my Little league Thornton Rockies took on the Thornton Astros. Up until the last inning we were down 12-1..srsly! But we mounted a small come back and made a little noise to finish with a 12-5 beat down. All was not lost for the Astros last night.

Pujols, Pena, Longoria, Gonzalez, Beltran, Cabrera, Martinez, Youkillis, Granderson, Kinsler, Berkman, Dunn, Zimmerman etc... would like a word with you :)

I like Yook but the rest are inferior. Pujols doesn't count because he's using the cyborg device he found in Mcgwire's old locker.

Ok, we will see at the end of the season! :)

Well tonight was VERY dramatic. Cain pitched great, and the Giants offense was HOT off their ace Zimmerman, but Howry blew the one run lead (5-4) and the Nats got ahead and the score was 5-7. Then in the 8th Molina managed to hit a solo shot (8th of the year) turned it to 6-7, then the Giants got 2 quick outs in the 9th, so we were now down 1 run with no men on with 1 more out to go. Burriss who is hot right now got a single up the middle. Now Renteria is up, and then the Nats closer tried to pick Burriss off at 1st, the throw went wide and Burriss advanced to 2nd. Now Renteria got a walk, and now Sandoval is up. He looked at a few pitches, fouled a couple off... Now hes got a 2-2 count with 2 outs, men on second and first and we are down one run in the bottom of the ninth... BOOM!!! Sandoval hit his third homerun in the season... A nice walk off for Kung Fu Panda.

But a few innings earlier he hit a linedrive into left center field (triples alley) and he was going to have a easy stand up triple, but while round second he stubbed is toe on the ground and fell flat on his gut!!! LOL... It was funny and he laughed, but I was truley scared that he might be hurt. He is fine and made up for it with the long ball.

Giants are doing real good now, havn't lost a home series, havn't lost a game we scored first in, and we also havn't lost a series in the last nine series. We are now 3 games behind the Dodgers (who are 1-4 without Manny.)

And almost our whole lineup have a really hot bat right now. (Burriss, Ishikawa and Winn mostly right now.)

Defense is overrated (even in baseball)! Astros win an offensive slugfest 15-11. I wanted the Astros to win 15-0 just to show that you don't beat us down and get away clean. Mike Hampton (HOU) was the winning pitcher while J. Marquis (COL) was the loser. Tomorrow afternoon at 2:10 PM CDT, we're sending Wandy Rodriguez to the mound while Colorado will counter with Jason Hammel.

Hope your favorite team won and least favorite team lost...

My Astros won a less-offensive game, a 5-3 victory, in Colorado. Wandy Rodriguez won the game with LaTroy Hawkins getting the save. Hammel lost this one. Up next for my Astros... a trip to Chicago to meet the Cubs in a three-game tilt. Yay. My Astros are currently two games under .500, and I'm truly uncertain we'll get above or at .500 in this series.

ESPN Sunday Night Baseball will show the matchup in which the New York Mets will head to beautiful San Francisco and beautiful AT&T Park to meet the Giants. Can't wait to see lovely San Francisco in primetime.

Well, as Mark Grace would say (except referring to other teams) the Arizona Diamondbacks officially stink. Another loss and a sweep by the Cincinnati Reds brings their record down to a measly 13-22, tied for last in the NL West with the San Diego Padres.

Another long road trip awaits, a weekend set in Atlanta, 4 game series in Miami. Then next weekend, interleague play as they face the A's in Oakland.

Tribe took 2 of 3 from the ChiSox,still in last,but oh well.

It's off to Tampa,for a 4 game stint with the D-Rays now.

Wow... a three-game set in Atlanta and a four-game swing in Miami? Wow! That's BRUTAL! As the saying goes... it's a marathon, not a sprint. So there's still a whole lot of baseball left. I think there will still be plenty of venom in the D-Backs to take down teams like the Giants and Dodgers in the NL West.

This is an interleague post of mine.

I found out that next Friday will be the Silver Boot rivalry between the Astros and Rangers. I love both teams, but I'm with my Astros when that brief interleague series kicks off. But man... Astros would need to play their asses off against Texas because the AL is a TOUGH ticket. The Texas Rangers are a hitting machine. Locked and loaded. After that interleague series, here are the next swing of interleague matches:

* 6/16 - 6/18: at Texas
* 6/19 - 6/21: at Minnesota (and their good stadium converted to a boring ballpark)
* 6/23 - 6/25: Kansas City
* 6/26 - 6/28: Detroit

But for now, just keep pounding away the ball!

The stretch the D-backs are on is brutal; 40 games in 41 days, the only day off was yesterday.

Things are looking promising from ATL, the snakes are leading 2-0 in the top of the 2nd.

We've never led the Cubs, but we did tie at 4-4. A bad pitch to home by the Astros ended up being a game-winning RBI for the Cubs, to win 5-4. The Astros' game last night was postponed (weather, presumably). Our record is now 16-19 or something like that.

Hope your teams are doing well!

IF the D-Backs could play good ball like they did last night in Atlanta, they wouldn't be so far down in the division, 12-0 victory last night. :)

Astros took care of the Cubs 6-5 earlier today. They did what my Rockets couldn't do today against the Lakers- Win. "Pudge" got home run #300 in his career. I think we have Monday off, then begin a three-game set at home against the Brewers. Then after that, it's Interleague play as Texas' only Major League Baseball teams square off in their rivalry series, the Battle for the Silver Boot: Rangers at Astros.

The rubber match between the D-Backs and Braves was postponed due to rain. Off to Miami for a 4 game set against a young & talented Marlins team.

Hey TS, I'm at the pub watching the marlins v. d-bags-- I mean backs-- game. We shall see who emerges victorious.

edit: Damn it. Rained out before OUR victory was official.

Sounds like a little TS vs. Omnis rivalry here with Diamondbacks at Marlins. You boys have at it!

My Astros will go back to work on Tuesday as we take on the Brewers, who are always a tough ticket. I saw only one inning of Twins at Yankees. The Minnesota Twins led 2-0 in the Middle-1st. But in the Yankees' frame in the Bottom-1st, the Yankees put up six runs including a homer or two (lightly speaking) to lead 6-2. Whether you love the Yankees or not, they can play ball. Yankees only put up one more run since to make it a 7-6 victory. Congratulations to the New York Yankees. [Former Astro] Andy Pettite was the winning pitcher (now 4-1), and Phil Coke got his first save. The losing pitcher was Glen Perkins. He's now 1-3.

Besides TopHat and Nicksflix, not too many more American League fans on GTPlanet. Meanwhile, I'm an Astros fan, Omnis loves his Florida Marlins, TS loves his Diamondbacks, UnoMOTO... likes his Rockies, Prosthetic loves his Giants (and maybe the Athletics as well)... Looks like GTP has a real NL presence, though there are AL fans.

I hate the A's :) All Giants fans do...

AL plays money. NL plays baseball.

Agreed. :)

Besides, real pitchers use a bat :)

Giants recently brought up Frandsen, and are looking to bring up Guzman during the series against the Mariners. Which will give the Giants a huge power increase.

All matches slated for tonight. So here are your matchups tonight:

* Texas at Detroit
* Baltimore at New York Yankees
* Oakland at Tampa Bay (has to be a LONG trip!)
