I was pleased we were up 2-0 early on. I was disgusted when I stopped watching most of the rest of the game... to find out we lost 8-2. That's it- Jordan Lyles should either go back to the Minor Leagues or be a relief pitcher instead. Then again, who would be better in his place? The all-too-familiar losing feeling is back with the Astros. Next game is on Wednesday afternoon followed by a Thursday night game to conclude this series. You know what is the worst thing about my Astros? The win on Monday only marked the 2nd win for the Astros for July 2012. Talk about things going to Hell and never coming back!

I don't even know if I should even care about the Astros right now or await Texans preseason football at this point. You never give up on your team(s), but when your beloved team is so down in the dumps, what the heck else can you do? So there you have it.

Posey had 3 hits, 5 RBIs and 2 doubles by the 4th inning. Lol

Barry Zito was great tonight, his curve was un-hittable. His slider though was pretty wicked, it sets up that curve so nicely.

Big key is Blanco, he is coming out of his slump and when he is hitting this team is scoring runs.. lots of runs.

Big bummer though, Hector Sanchez sprained his knee diving back to 1st on a pick off attempt. Really big shame, as he been a crucial part of arguably the best catchy duo in MLB this year. Hopefully Whiteside's shoulder is 100% because I don't want to see last years version of him.

Let's see if we can't lose again tonight.

Hopes of making it to the division series fading away...

Edit: Kubel back in the roster tonight after being benched for 4 days with a groin strain. First time at bat tonight and he hits a 2-run homer.

Jason Kubel just hit another home run.

Edit: We won 7-1. :)

Apparently Bauer was sent back down to Triple-A. Good, he's not ready. 👍

New losing streak. Astros had five hung on them in one inning, end up failing 8-4. Are we heading to Phoenix on a three-game losing streak or a one-game winning streak? Thursday night will tell the story.

Friday night actually, we have one last game with the Reds tomorrow morning, then play you guys on Friday.

What a game tonight... A pitchers duel up into extra innings turned into a 9-4 blowout. Braves have been doing a lot of smack talk towards Melky... Oh well.. Hes killing em'.

Prosthetic

Chipper on Melky's pronounced gestures in wednesday's game: "That's Melky,and that's why he's not here anymore....It won't be forgotten"

Bahaha simmer down Larry Jones, sometimes vets get a little too butthurt

Reds finally got their first base runner in the bottom of the 4th on a 1-out walk.

Saunders doing good today. :)

Edit: Reds just got their first hit in the bottom of the 5th. Aaron Hill has also homered, score 3-0.

Edit 2: 6-0 now. :D

Edit 3: Bah, gave up a 3-run homer. 6-3 now. 👎

Edit 4: And just like that it's tied. :yuck: We're going to lose this game, I can feel it.

Edit 5: ..........................and we lost. 🤬 bull:censored: game.

I saw that... I think hes just frustrated after a bad game. Jones has been my favorite non-Giant since I was like 7 years old. Class act person... And that isn't why Melky isn't there.. He isn't there because he sucked when he was with the Braves.

Both Blanco and Melky lit it up in the first two games, same with Posey.

In other news ESPN fell on their face with this question... Hamilton being the only one that is comparable. Rickey was a lead off hitter that took walks and didn't strike out much. Mays well.. being the best CF of all time isn't really comparable to anyone.

Between you, John, the D'backs and Astros, I feel that this community has taken a significant hit in life expectancy recently :scared:

That just added to my already bad day, week, and last 10 years. I'm 27 and half the hair on my head is gray already. Maybe that'll tell you something.

I'm only 3 years behind and I'm starting to gray. Yet my team won.

Well a 1-0 loss won't help, but Harrell did pitch well. The offense decided though to be offensive and just get one hit.

Maybe this trade will help..... Toronto

Toronto sends: Francisco Cordero, Ben Francisco, Joe Musgrove, Asher Wojciechowski, David Rollins, Carlos Perez and PTBNL
Houston sends: Brandon Lyon, J.A. Happ, and David Carpenter.

Make it three straight losses. I did not even see last night's game, but the Astros fell 1-0 at San Diego.

Don't try this at home, kids- my Astros will go into the desert and play with some snakes. It's the JohnBM01/R1600Turbo grudge match: my Astros at his Diamondbacks. Something has to give- a pathetic road team (HOU) against a team that is sometimes... for lack of a better term, snakebit (ARI). Unless the Astros just concede defeat, this should really be an interesting series at lovely Chase Field.

Whatever series your team(s) is/are involved in this weekend (including TEX at LAA), good luck to all teams.

Got offered field level tickets to tomorrow's game, but I can't go. :grumpy:

Weaver hasn't lost to Texas at home. Should be a good one.

So Houston has found a weakness for our pitcher -> fielding bunts. And now it seems like that's all they want to do to get their guys on base.

Edit: Hi John! How's it going? :D

Brandon Crawford has quietly had a good month.

April: 5 errors, .203/.225/.333/.558 with 6 2B, 1HR

May: 5 errors, .231/.297/.286/.583 with 5 2B

June: 2 errors, .260/.313/.377/.690 with 5 2B, 2 3B

July: 0 errors, .314/.385/.514/.899 with 1 2B, 2 HR

Good stuff, hope he keeps it up. Most of his errors are from lack of experience and he was rushed up last year.

We are currently giving Houston a good whoopin' with a 13-4 score, now in the top of the 8th.

Sorry John. :)

Oh, and Aaron Hill slowly getting that batting average up there, closing in on .310.

Edit: Man, Shaw has given up 7 runs in the last two games. He needs to get his 🤬 together. Need a 10 run lead to win a game with him on the mound lately...

Final score: 13-8

I stopped caring in the 5th inning when the Astros just let the snakes load up the bases. However, they play series for a reason. Maybe my *rebuilding* team will find a way to shake off the D-Backs either tonight or tomorrow afternoon.
