Earlier, I was going who the flack is Batman?

This is him, right? Well, he made the front page on CBS baseball(Actual Batman on the right, of course), and as soon as I saw his face, I was like, that dude looks like Christian Bale.

Exactly. And the catcher Hanigan reminds me a little bit of Kevin Bacon, too.

It was 4-1 here in Houston as the Astros finally won. Losing streak snapped for Houston! Tampa Bay went up 1-0 in just the Top of the 1st until Chris Carter of the Astros homered in the Bottom of the 2nd to tie the game. 1-1 and game on. We finally blew it open in the Bottom of the 7th with three runs. José Veras picked up the Save for the winning (and may likely be traded) Bud Norris. Roberto Hernandez lost for Tampa Bay. So we're either playing for a series split or to win 1 out of 4 depending on how the Astros play tomorrow afternoon in the series finale.

Let me touch up on a few games that concluded while also shouting out to some of GTPlanet's favorite fans of certain teams...

* In the R1600Turbo vs. Blitz24 special, it was the Snakes who prevailed tonight, 5-3 at Citi Field. Delgado was the winner and saved by the bell- Heath Bell got the Save. Matt Harvey was the loser.

* Villain's Los Angeles Dodgers got into an offensive shootout in Denver (when is it NOT an offensive storm at Coors Field?) and won 10-8. Greinke was the winner with a Jansen Save. Chatwood picked up the loss for Colorado.

* The Minnesota Twins couldn't cool off the Yankees, as the Yanks won 3-2 in Minneapolis. C.C. Sabathia won along with yet another save from Mariano Rivera. P.J. Walters was the MIN loser.

* It was 6-2 in Toronto as Joey D's Tigers pounced on the Blue Jays. Winning for Detroit- yet again- was Max Scherzer. Picking up the loss for the Blue Jays was Josh Johnson.

* The Fightin' Phils didn't have enough fight in them to take down the Pirates, as the battle for the Keystone State ended up a 6-5 victory for the Pittsburgh Pirate at beautiful PNC Park. Locke won for PIT along with a Save from Grilli. Lannan lost for Philadelphia.

* I guess this is the Omnis vs. a6m5 special. In Atlanta, it was the Marlins who came out on top 6-3 tonight. It was an MIA win for Nolasco and a Save from Cishek. Minor lost for Atlanta.

Congratulations to all other winners of other games both in progress and completed. Speaking of which... the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are getting spanked right now as of the time of this post- St. Louis leading 11-2 after seven innings. I'm pretty sure Patrick's pretty upset right now.

Dodgers are now in a virtual tie for 2nd place.

Nine innings solved nothing. So in 11 innings, Houston lost 7-5 to Tampa Bay. We're on a brutal road trip starting tomorrow night. How brutal? Here you go: at Texas (3 games), at St. Louis (2 games), and at Tampa Bay (3 games). God save my Astros on this one...

Another rookie making our veteran pitchers look bad. Skaggs kicking ass and taking names tonight. 2-hit shutout through 7.

The Texas Rangers won 10-5 over my Astros. This brutal 8-game, 3-city road trip already looking bad. Only positive is that we scored some runs. It is NOT easy trying to beat the Texas Rangers- especially at Texas. That's almost like in men's basketball (or even women's basketball) trying to beat Duke or North Carolina at their respective arenas. I wouldn't be surprised if we got swept in at least one of the series on this road trip. To the pessimist, the Astros are only two losses away from getting swept in one of these series.

So we'll try again to win tomorrow night. HOU at TEX.

Tonight, the MLB All-Stars will be announced. Congratulations to all who get in- even if as reserves.

I just turn on the Giants - Dodgers game on Fox. Giants advance the runner to third, one out. Next hitter gets to the second base, runner comes home, Mattingly for the Dodgers comes out. Apparently, Giants messed up the batting order and it's an out, runner back to the third base.

Never seen that one before.

Goldschmidt is an All-Star! However, an All-Star reserve. The only Astros representative is Jason Castro. I'm cool with that. Chris Carter and José Altuve would have also been great Astros to send to the All-Star Game.

Looks like Corbin made it too.

The Astros won 9-5 today at the Rangers, and we owe it all to [All-Star] Jason Castro's three-run jack. It would be great if we can finally take down the Rangers in a series. So tomorrow afternoon's game will be the Rubber Match between us rivals. Make that win number 32 for the 2013 Houston Astros.

To everybody else who won today, congratulations! Congratulations also to everyone who made this year's All-Star Game.

Short-lived success. That's been a trademark of the Astros as of late. Astros brought offense, but not enough. Our latest fail was 5-4 to the Texas Rangers. The Astros are off tomorrow. Up next is a two-game series at the St. Louis on Tuesday night. It will be another NL family reunion, not to mention an NL Central family reunion for the Houston Astros.

So... we failed again.

The Tigers have a pretty good representation on the All-Star team this year, I'm really looking forward to the game. I've been voting to send Joaquín Benoit there too.

The Tribe is sending 2 players off to NYC this year for the All-Star festivities.

2nd baseman - Jason Kipnis
Pitcher - Justin Masterson

Still riding 2nd place in the A.L.Central at 46-42 , 2.5 games behind Joeys Tigers. Lets see what the 2nd half holds in store for us. Will it be the commonly known 2nd half flop ?

Random musings...

* If M. Scherzer of Detroit wins tonight, he'll be the first pitcher to start a season 14-0 since Roger Clemense did it in 1986.

* Most intriguing series right now is Texas at Baltimore. I want to wish Manny Machado a happy 21st birthday today, speaking of the Baltimore Orioles.

* Looks like we have the Blitz24 vs. Prosthetic special tonight- the New York Mets playing at the San Francisco Giants. Tonight's pitching duel is between Matt Harvey (NYM) and Tim Lincecum (SF).

* Two Interleague series are present: Oakland at Pittsburgh is a battle between two very good teams in each league. Also, there's the battle for the Windy City as it's the Chicago Cubs at the Chicago White Sox. The pitching match for Monday night is supposed to be Matt Garza for CHC and Santiago for CHW.

My Astros are not playing today, so I won't be able to tell you how my team did tonight. But when we do go to work, it will be the Houston Astros at the St. Louis Cardinals. Best of luck to all of your teams with the new series.

I just realized... one of the new series going on was the Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks. Of course, LAD and ARI will be the Opening Day match in the 2014 season in Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Here are a look at some of the many concluded games...

* Even though Detroit beat the Cleveland Indians 4-2 in 10 innings in Cleveland, Max Scherzer didn't get the win. It was Smyly instead along with a J. Benoit Save. Losing for Nicksflix's Tribe was former Astro Matt Albers. Had to get SOME kind of Astro mention. :)

* Kansas City shut down the New York Yankees 5-1 in the Bronx. The Kansas City Royals won with Guthrie and a G. Holland Save. The Yanks' loser was Hughes.

* The homestanding Baltimore Orioles had themselves some Texas Rangers problems. The Orioles were taken down 8-5 by Texas in Baltimore. D. Holland's win and Nathan's Save provided the winning spark for Texas. Feldman was the O's losing pitcher.

* The Tampa Bay Rays won 7-4 hosting the Minnesota Twins. A. Torres won for TB along with a Rodney Save. Deduno was the Twins' losing pitcher.

* BobK's Philadelphia Phillies hosted the Washington Nationals in a crucial NL East tilt. Tonight, it was the Philadelphia Phillies who were victorious to the tune of a 3-2 win. Lannan won along with a Save from Jonathan Papelbon- who said "Puig to the All-Stars would be 'an absolute joke.'" Haren was the losing Nationals pitcher.

* What the hell happened in Miami? The game took 14 innings with both teams tied 1-1 as nine innings didn't solve anything. Afterwards... Atlanta went into Beast Mode and hung six on the Fish. Miami must have been stymied because they ended up losing 7-1 to the Braves in 14 innings. Ouch. Carpenter picked up the win for Atlanta while Hatcher got shelled for Miami.

* The Milwaukee Brewers crushed the hopes of Dolph Drago's Cincinnati Reds in Milwaukee, as the Brew Crew won 4-3. Kyle Lohse picked up the win along with an F. Rodriguez Save. The losing Reds pitcher was Homer Bailey.

* One of two Interleague series, it was 2-1 in Pittsburgh as the Oakland Athletics took down the Pittsburgh Pirates. Colon won for the A's along with a Balfour Save. Pittsburgh's losing pitcher tonight was Locke.

* The Battle for the Windy City saw the Chicago White Sox get whitewashed by the Chicago Cubs 8-2 at U.S Cellular Field (Chicago White Sox's home). That's the Opening Day score my Astros put on the Texas Rangers on Opening Day. Anyhow, Matt Garza picked up the win for the Cubbies while Thornton (who is now 0-3) was the White Sox's losing pitcher.

Congratulations to the eventual winners of the other games, including:
* LAD at ARI (the Villain vs. R1600Turbo special)
* BOS at SEA
* COL at SD
* NYM at SF (the Blitz24 vs. Prosthetic special)

Set me straight on any typos or errors.

I put this is the wrong thread yesterday. Here it is in it's proper home, if only a day late:

AJ Ellis came up in the clutch to tack three earned runs on Romo and set the Dodgers up to win the series in San Francisco.

Up next for the 2nd Place Dodgers is a 3-game series against the Diamondbacks. The Dodgers will be sending Greinke Monday, the newly acquired hometown boy Ricky Nolasco on Tuesday, and then Hyun-Jin Ryu on Wednesday.

Also, while we're here, can we talk about how awesome that Nolasco trade was? Dodgers gave up basically nothing in terms of players to get a decent back-of-the-rotation veteran and more international spending cap money. Two great trades in one week by Ned Colletti (who is still terrible).

UPDATE: Greinke had a fantastic performance in game one. The Dodgers haven't won a series against Arizona yet this season, they will make their first attempt tomorrow night with Ricky Nolasco. Nolasco has already pitched a game against the Dbacks this year as a Marlin, his best performance of 2013: 8 IP, 1 ER, and 11 strikeouts.

Hopefully Ian Kennedy will avoid hitting the Dodgers in the face for being so frustrated this time.

UPDATE 2: It's the first inning and Kennedy has already beaned Hanley Ramirez. Here we go.

I wonder what the hottest hitter in baseball is so frustrated about...
