Maybe he should not stand with his hands over the plate.💡 I am betting this in not the first time that has happened.
Which part? The Pirates hitting someone or.... (They do lead the league in HBP).

If the Astros were to somehow sweep Dolph Drago's Cincinnati Reds, we'll be at .500 (would be 35-35). No chance of that happening because we failed tonight. Cincinnati won 4-2 in a game that couldn't be settled in 9 innings. We needed 11 to settle this one. Timely hitting by the Reds subdued my Astros tonight. The win went to J.J. Hoover of CIN and a Save from Tony Cingrani. Pat Neshek was HOU's losing pitcher.

Congratulations to Friday's other winners, including Michael Saunders of Toronto banging three jacks to crush the Baltimore Orioles in Baltimore.

Color me surprised the Reds pulled it off tonight. I thought there was no way the bullpen could possibly help us to a win tonight after Lamb lasted 5 1/3 innings. Naturally we did initially give up a game tying 1st pitch home run in the 8th inning, but we held strong after that. We managed to not blow it after scoring 2 in the 11th inning. That was quite unlike the game on Wednesday when we grabbed a similar 2 run lead in the 13th inning...and still managed to piss it down the drain...against the Braves...

KC avenged the Tigers blowing them out yesterday by blowing us out today. But still, I'm shocked that the division is wide open at this point. There's usually a frontrunner or two in the AL Central by this point of the season.

Nine innings didn't solve anything again in this CIN at HOU series. This game also needed 11 innings to be settled. However, unlike last night, we won. 5-4 was the score in Houston as the Astros defeated the Cincinnati Reds. Picking up the win for HOU was Scott Feldman. Josh Smith was CIN's loser. Tomorrow afternoon is the Rubber Game of this series.

Congratulations to Saturday's other winners, including a come-from-behind effort by the Texas Rangers to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals in St. Louis.

Mets are about to lose their 2nd straight to Atlanta. I know it's still June but the way this team is currently and the failure to develop any hitting means that this team will NOT make the playoffs in 2016.

One thing I forgot to mention in my previous post was to congratulate the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on their victory today, especially with Tim Lincecum getting his first win as an Angel. The Halos hammered the A's 7-1 in Oakland today.

The Reds at Astros series ended here today in Houston, and it was the Astros who won by a score of 6-0. The only time I followed the game, we were up 2-0 in the 4th inning. Nine innings were enough this time around. Mike Fiers was the starting pitcher for Houston, and he got the win. Chris Devenski got himself a Save for Houston. For CIN, it was Brandon Finnegan who was the losing pitcher. We are now 34-36 on the season. I'm a good sport, so...

*handshake Dolph Drago*

Good luck to your Reds the rest of the way. Nice little inner-forum rivalry.

Up next for the Houston Astros... we're home to host Patrick's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for a three-game set. After this series, we'll be on the road at the defending champs- the Kansas City Royals.

Elsewhere...

* I ask again- is it rock bottom to lose to the 2016 Atlanta Braves? That was the fate for the New York Mets as they got swept by the Atlanta Braves. Yikes! Julio Teheran was the winner for ATL, and losing for NYM was Jacob DeGrom. The score today was 6-0, by the way.

* 3-0 was the score in Miami as Omnis's Miami Marlins blanked the visiting Colorado Rockies. Tom Koehler picked up the win for Miami along with a Save from A.J. Ramos. The loser for Colorado was Tyler Anderson.

* It was 2-1 in Boston as the Red Sox took down the Seattle Mariners. The Price was right as David Price got the win along with a Save from Craig Kimbrel. Not so fortunate for SEA was Edwin Diaz.

* No score, just a note- Yordano Ventura is currently serving his eight-game suspension for instigating a brawl between Kansas City and Baltimore earlier this month.

Congratulations to all other winners this Sunday up to and beyond the time of this post.

Congrats on your 'Stros taking the series. I'm just glad we came out of there with that first game win so we couldn't get swept. But it could have been an even rougher series for us had Hamilton not been flying all over the outfield.

I'm surprised. The Rangers currently hold a 8.5 game lead over the Mariners, and winners of 6 straight with a close 5-4 win over St. Louis.

The AL West may doggone well come down to Texas and Seattle. I don't see my Astros being any serious contenders in the AL West. We're AL Wild Card contenders at best. That is... unless Texas, Seattle, or both fall apart while Houston gets hot (not the weather, mind you).

Hockey was done long ago, basketball is done... it's almost full baseball mode now. So be sure to enjoy some baseball as this Summer winds on (or if it is Winter in your part of the world).

Not a Standings Update, but these are the current Division leaders as of this post:

* AL EAST LEADER: Baltimore (40-28)
* AL CENTRAL LEADER: Cleveland (38-31)
* AL WEST LEADER: Texas (45-25)
* NL EAST LEADER: Washington (43-27)
* NL CENTRAL LEADER: Chicago Cubs (47-20)
* NL WEST LEADER: San Francisco (44-26)

Enjoy the new series and good luck to all of your teams.

A football score of 10-7 was the final score here in Houston as the Astros took down the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Early-and-often scoring by the Houston Astros was the difference in this one. We hung a total of seven runs until LAA finally answered with a long bomb from Albert Pujols in the Top of the 6th. HOU's winning pitcher was Doug Fister, who is now 8-3 on the season. It's great Fister is given run support unlike when we send Dallas Keuchel to the mound. Jhoulys Chacin was the loser for LAA. Both of us will suit up and go again Tuesday night.

Congratulations to Monday's other winners, including the Pittsburgh Pirates silencing the hot San Francisco Giants in Pittsburgh.

I cannot fathom how a team that spends money like the Tigers do always ends up with piss poor pitching every damn year. 12 innings for an 8-7 win and Pelfrey still had another bad outing.

Jeff Locke either suffers from multiple personality disorder or has a twin brother. In my life I have never seen a pitcher than on one day can be brilliant and the next look like a fan throwing BP.

5/30 9ip 3h 0er
6/4 7ip 7h 3er
6/9 4.2ip 11h 11er
6/15 4ip 9h 7er
6/20 6.2ip 5h 0er (beat mad bum and the hot Giants)

3 starts with 0er and 3 starts with 7+er and the rest are just normal starts.:boggled:

Just wrapped up...

WALK-OFF MAGIC! We knocked off the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim thanks to an RBI Single by Carlos Correa with the bases loaded and nobody out led us to defeat the Angels 3-2 tonight. Either a series win or a series sweep will be assured for the Astros in this series finale tomorrow. We are now at .500 with a 36-36 record after this win. Speaking of wins, the HOU winner was Luke Gregerson. LAA's losing pitcher was Huston Street.

Congratulations to Tuesday's other winners, including a team that is now above .500 with their win- the Detroit Tigers. Also, who angered San Francisco to where they won 15-4 at Pittsburgh after losing 1-0 last night?

[UPDATE] The hit by Correa was technically ruled an RBI single and not a double. Changes made.

You never met his identical twin (and evil) brother John Locke whose only goal is to confuse you?

Next up for the Locke clan, some guy named Kershaw and the Dodgers on Saturday on Fox. There is a slight chance he can go 2 starts w/o allowing a run but he/they have not done that since June 2013.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Houston Astros series wrapped up earlier today with the third game in this series. And all I can say is... hello, north of .500! We won 3-2 over LAA and sweeping them in this series. HOU's starting pitcher was Lance McCullers, but he got a No Decision as Luke Gregerson got the win along with a Save from Will Harris. The Angels' losing pitcher was Matt Shoemaker. We are now 37-36 on the season.

Up next for the Houston Astros Baseball Club... after a day off tomorrow, we're on the road for a weekend series at the defending champs- the Kansas City Royals. Maybe we can learn to start winning more on the road.

Congratulations to Wednesday's other winners, including Miami snapping Atlanta's six-game winning streak in Miami and wins today by both of New York City's Major League Baseball teams.

I still can't get over how the Angels are called the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim". Why aren't they still called the "Anaheim Angels"? Does that mean that the Rays should be the "Tampa Bay Rays of St. Petersburg", or that in the NFL, the Cowboys should be called the "Dallas Cowboys of Arlington"?
