...and because misery loves company, let me let you in that the Houston Astros dropped their series hosting the Boston Red Sox.

GM1 BOS at HOU: 2-1; Boston
GM2 BOS at HOU: 7-1; Houston
GM3 BOS at HOU: 6-5; Boston

AL East is usually a tough out to begin with. So I am not too surprised my Astros couldn't suppress the Red Sox.

Up next for the Houston Astros... LATE GAMES! We are going to go hit the road and entertain the Oakland Athletics in their football field that also is a baseball park. This is part of a seven-game road trip with a four-game set at Oakland followed by a three-game set at Seattle.

Congratulations to all winners from the most recent series including other game winners... including a walk-off three-run jack for Nolan Arenado hitting for the cycle to help his Colorado Rockies defeat the visiting San Francisco Giants today. I saw that on a Twitter video. Awesome season for the Colorado Rockies.

The 2017 Houston Astros are now 50-24 on the season. That's because we swept the Oakland Athletics in Oakland's boring football field... I mean, ballpark. Check it:

GM1 HOU at OAK: 4-1; Houston
GM2 HOU at OAK: 8-4; Houston
GM3 HOU at OAK: 5-1; Houston
GM4 HOU at OAK: 12-9; Houston

Up next (and later tonight)... we're in Seattle to take on the Mariners in the Pacific Northwest's only Major League Baseball team- the Seattle Mariners. Three game set and the final stop of this seven-game road trip.

Enjoy the weekend series! Good luck to all of your favorite teams.

Homer Bailey finally rejoined the rotation. How'd he do? 1.2 innings, 8 ER. :scared: But that wasn't it. The worn down bullpen got beat down as well. The Nats eventually dropped the Reds 18-3.

And Finnegan's first game back after his stint on the DL since April, he leaves after 3 innings pitched with a strained tricep. Just when you think you're going to get back to somewhat normal with the rotation finally coming back...:banghead:

We're not playing tonight, but here is a look at our latest series. The Houston Astros took a trip to Seattle for a three-game weekend series. And...

GM1 HOU at SEA: 13-3; Seattle
GM2 HOU at SEA: 5-2; Houston
GM3 HOU at SEA: 8-2; Houston

When I checked into the game, we were leading 4-2 heading into the Bottom of the 8th for the third game of this series. The 'Stros somehow pounded out four runs to lead for good. The 2017 Houston Astros are now 52-25. Still the best record in baseball. Meanwhile, 2nd best these days record-wise is the 51-26 Los Angeles Dodgers. Not sure where he is, but only GTPlaneteer I know who is a Dodgers fan is Villain. I'm sure he'd be proud of his Dodgers doing so well. And remember when the Colorado Rockies had the best record among National League teams? The NL West is usually a crap shoot. So that's going to be one competitive division for sure. Worst records right now... Chicago White Sox are the AL doormat at 32-42, and the Philadelphia Phillies have the worst record in the NL and overall at 24-51.

But back to my Astros, and up next... we're home to host a few teams in a few series. The Oakland Athletics come on down to H-Town for a three-game set starting tomorrow night.

Hope your team(s) is/are doing well. Good luck to all of your favorite teams, GTPlanet baseball fans.

Wow... great job by that umpire. Now on to the latest series with my Houston Astros, as we hosted the Oakland Athletics.

GM1 OAK at HOU: 6-4; Oakland
GM2 OAK at HOU: 11-8; Houston
GM3 OAK at HOU: 6-1; Houston

The 2017 Houston Astros are now 54-26 on the season after this set of games. Still atop the AL West and with the best record in Major League Baseball.

Up next for the Houston Astros Baseball Club... some team called the New York Yankees will come to H-Town for a three-game weekend series. We're on the road after this series with the Yanks.

Elsewhere...

I haven't really mentioned a lot of other teams. So let me change that by mentioning some other teams. I'll just talk about scores rather than who winning/losing pitchers were. Okay, here goes...

* The Cleveland Indians downed the Texas Rangers 5-1 at home. Cleveland is still atop the AL Central.

* Did the other Ohio team win? In a word- NO. The Cincinnati Reds of beautiful Great American Ballpark... took an ugly 11-3 beating at home at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers.

* 7-3 was the score in MoTown as the Detroit Tigers took down the Kansas City Royals.

* I saw this game on MLB Network as the Chicago Cubs downed the Washington National 5-4 in Washington, D.C. This fail by Washington now means they have six losses this season when leading heading into the 9th Inning, which I think is the most in the league.

* The surprising Minnesota Twins went into Fenway Park today and were defeated 6-3 at the Boston Red Sox.

* Cardinals ain't afraid of no snakes. St. Louis won 10-4 at the Arizona Diamondbacks.

* The only remaining non-American team in Major League Baseball took a 2-0 loss. Baltimore blanks the Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Congratulations to all series winners as well as winners from Thursday's games.

Man the Tigers are a major disappointment this year. I'll be curious to see who gets moved at the trade deadline. I assume J.D. Martinez is gone, as is Alex Avila, Justin Wilson, and maybe even Ian Kinsler. Rumors are saying Verlander is gone too, but I doubt it considering he's no longer consistent and has one of those stupid contracts all Detroit teams love to give players.

The Tigers trading away the only good relievers we have would be a Tigers move. I could totally see them do that just because that's a move they would do since it makes no sense whatsoever.

The bullpen ain't going to destroy itself!

Rumor also has it that the Cubs are interested in Verlander and Avila (which makes me wonder about how much faith they have in Schwarber). I took a look at the Cubs' prospects and there's some decent talent there, but I'm not sure they'd be willing to deal the #8 overall MLB prospect. Their number one pitching prospect needs Tommy John surgery, so I'd have to be a no on that guy.

Normally at the start of the month, I'd give a Standings Update. Unless you want to do so, I'm going to do a Standings update come All-Star Break. My Houston Astros were off yesterday. Our latest series was against the New York Yankees here in Houston, and here is how it went...

GM1 NYY at HOU: 13-3; New York Yankees
GM2 NYY at HOU: 7-6; Houston
GM3 NYY at HOU: 8-1; Houston

I'm pleased we knocked off the Yankees. The Yanks are going to be favorites to make the playoffs, even if via Wild Card. Meanwhile, my 2017 Houston Astros are 56-27. Still the best record in baseball and still ahead in the AL West. According to Yahoo! Sports, we are tops in batting average (263) and runs (464). We are 5th in Earned Runs Average (3.91 ERA) and 10th Home Runs Allowed (97 home runs allowed). On Sunday or so, one of the Astros' pitchers was caught for performance-enhancing drugs. It was David Paulino, who had a 2-0 record and an ERA slightly north of 6.50 ERA.

Up next for the Houston Astros... we're on a road trip through two cities before the All-Star action next week. Starting today, we are on a two-game series at the Atlanta Braves for some Interleague action. Then the final series before the All-Star break is a four-game weekend series at Silver Arrows' Toronto Blue Jays.

Congratulations to all winners of recent games and series. Congratulations also to those who will compete in the 2017 All-Star Game as well as the 2017 Home Run Derby. Good luck to all of your favorite teams as we head into the All-Star Break.

The Houston Astros Baseball Club will begin their final series before the All-Star Break as we leave the United States of America to take on Canada's only remaining Major League Baseball team- the Toronto Blue Jays in a four-game weekend series. This will mean an inner GTPlanet rivalry between myself and Silver Arrows's Blue Jays. Before that, though, here's the latest series HOU completed:

GM1 HOU at ATL: 16-4; Houston
GM2 HOU at ATL: 10-4; Houston

Yeah. We went Interleague going to the Atlanta Braves. Had we still been in the National League, this would be NL Central (HOU) vs. NL East (ATL). But instead, it's AL West (HOU) at NL East (ATL). We still won regardless. The 2017 Houston Astros are currently 58-27 heading into tonight- still the best record in baseball and atop the AL West. So the best we can do in this final series before the All-Star Break is 62-27; the worst we can do is 58-31. A few years ago, the Astros would win about 58 games all season. Now we got 58 wins before the All-Star Break. This team is ballin', but I still don't see them winning the World Series (though I'd love to see them do so).

Good luck to all of your favorite teams in this final weekend of action heading into the All-Star Break.

America's team- the Houston Astros. Canada's team- the Toronto Blue Jays. The four-game set- in Toronto. So how did it go? Check it:

GM1 HOU at TOR: 7-4; Toronto
GM2 HOU at TOR: 12-2; Houston
GM3 HOU at TOR: 7-2; Toronto
GM4 HOU at TOR: 19-1; Houston (supposedly the biggest loss in TOR history)

So the 2017 Houston Astros will head into the All-Star Break with a 60-29 record after winning today. The Houston Astros would have had a major shutout, but instead settle for a beating of the Toronto Blue Jays 19-1 in Toronto. The win is a series split for Houston. People on Twitter have posted all kinds of memes and jokes regarding the Blue Jays getting spanked today. We are really ballin' right now. I just hope (as an Astros fan) they don't let this slip away or fall apart, especially later in the season.

Up next for the Houston Astros Baseball Club... some of the Astros will be in the All-Star Break festivities. The others? They'll be preparing for a three-game weekend series in Houston against the Minnesota Twins starting on Friday.

Congratulations to all series winners and game winners from today. How is/are your team(s) doing?

Home Run. Bomb. Dinger. Jack. Long ball. Taken deep. Going yard. "Backbackbackbackbackback... GONE!" "See ya!" "And you can put that on the BOOOARD! Yes!" No matter what you call them or how you recognize them, the home run ball is always cool. Tonight is the Home Run Derby to be held in Omnis country- Miami, Florida; as part of the All-Star Break. Who will be the Home Run Derby winner this season? We shall see.

Good luck to all participants in tonight's Home Run Derby.

Tonight is the All-Star Game. Will it be the American League or the National League that wins tonight? This game is a pure exhibition. It used to be that the winner would get home field advantage in the World Series. But now, it's just a straight-up exhibition. Our Omnis would say the AL plays money, and the NL plays baseball. So who will win tonight's game? We'll find out!

Good luck to both the AL and NL tonight in Miami.

The All-Star Game is just kind of meh now that they got rid of the home field advantage. I suspect it's going to be similar to the Pro-Bowl now :indiff:

I didn't realize there were so many Indians, Dodgers, Astros, and Yankees in the All Star Game. I get the Astros and Dodgers, but the Indians and the Yankees? Really? I guess that's what people wanted to see.

And I have zero idea who just sang the National Anthem.

Masses of people hated that rule, including almost all of ESPN. I did think of an alternative a while back in opposition: Winning side gets the rules for World Series Game 7. Living in an area where AL ball is the only option, I'd love to see the Rangers play NL ball in Arlington.

I didn't realize there were so many Indians, Dodgers, Astros, and Yankees in the All Star Game. I get the Astros and Dodgers, but the Indians and the Yankees? Really? I guess that's what people wanted to see.
Indians are starting to heat up and still have a good chunk of last years World Series team, and the Yankees...well, what do you expect when the media shows them at or near the top of the show each night AND they don't suck.

The American League won the 2017 MLB All-Star Game 2-1 last night in 10 innings. Craig Kimbrel was the winning pitcher for the AL, and he got a Save from Andrew Miller. The NL's losing pitcher was Wade Davis. The teams will take some time off after the All-Star action from Miami. From here on out, though, every game counts. So here is what the teams will be facing once the regular season resumes:

During my research, I found out the best record in baseball now goes to the Los Angeles Dodgers. LAD is balling right now. There's still a lot of season left. So unless your team is mathematically eliminated, there is still postseason hope for all teams. Keep playing hard! And please correct any mistakes I may have made in my reporting.

If you'd like to assess your team(s) or predict the future of this season, feel free to do so. Otherwise, good luck to all your favorite teams once the season resumes.

The Houston Astros have completed games numbered 90, 91, and 92 of 162. It was a three-game set here in Houston hosting the Minnesota Twins. Here's how the series ended:

GM1 MIN at HOU: 10-5; Houston
GM2 MIN at HOU: 4-2; Minnesota
GM3 MIN at HOU: 5-3; Houston

Our record is now 62-30. Word has it that Dallas Keuchel will be doing some rehab pitching. So we might get him back in our rotation sooner if he feels better after being on the disabled list.

Up next for the Houston Astros Baseball Club... we host the Seattle Mariners for a three-game set here in H-Town.

Congratulations to all series winners and game winners from the past few days. That even includes the Chicago Cubs blanking the Baltimore Orioles big time today in Baltimore.
