I think the new dashboard instrument on the HUD is just exclusive to the Sierra Time Rally Special Event. It could be the time til the stage timer runs out.

This option would be very useful for a new kind of Seasonal Events. Something like Time Attack sessions with specific cars... ;)

Here we go guys, I've been digging up previous updates days and this is what I've found;
v1.01- Friday
v1.02- Tuesday
v1.03- Monday
v1.04- Monday
v1.05- Monday
v1.06- Monday
v1.07- Wednesday
v1.08- Friday
v1.09- Wednesday
v1.10- Friday
v1.11- Wednesday
*Note that all these times are based on the Japan release day.

Ok, so Monday is the most popular for updates followed by Wednsday and Friday with 3 updates each. However, if you notice since v1.07, the update day has been switching between Wednesday and Friday. So, v1.11 occured on a Wednesday so if the patterns and trends continue we could be seeing Zahara on Friday (Japan Time).

Unfortunately the recorder part of the stream ends when they finish the meeting - followed by Toyota VGT video, GT6 intro and PD Nurburgring 24H video "Rise after Falling". No signs of Zahara - If it's somewhere in the middle then I missed it with my 1-2 minutes "fast forwards" but it's highly unlikely - they constantly race/talk. (no interruptions/breaks)

I will re-do it tomorrow just to be sure.

From the stream It seems like the FT-1 sounds like a regular GT6 race car - nothing new here. The little Honda is not premiumized and the FT-1 looks like a regular blackout interior but it seems to have been modeled (CAD photo) - they also never used the interior view during the races.

Some screen-grabs - the HQ is what it is on nico.

Judging by the old videos, the Zahara part is around 2:46:20

I have been doing a few corrections and all that stuff on an image that was in this thread a few posts ago. I'll apologise for the not-so-improved quality, but, here it is.

If you look closely, (obviously minding my poor editing skills) you can see that the numbers in the version area are not all the same. Because we are currently on v1.11, the numbers should all look the same. However, the last digit is blurred into a shape that looks like a 2. So, in saying that, this means anyone who doesn't believe we're getting an update, is clearly wrong as the proof is in the numbers. Not a huge deal but as we know there will be an update soon but just abit of insecurity solved there.

Ok, whilst I'm all Sherlock Holmes-sy, I thought I better try getting to the bottom of the new HUD thing and the logo next to it.

So I tried correcting and sharpening the image and that is the best I could come up with. On the topic of the logo, the logo looks as if it is just a logo for the Sierra Time Rally and the writting vaguely looks like, 'Sierra Time Rally'. The new HUD instrument is definetly going to be exclusive to the Sierra Time Rally as it looks like it informs the player on what stage they are on and the current time for that stage/points scored for that stage. If anyone else can do better with my pics, they are more than welcome to do so!

You need umbrella girls to race in a studio?:bowdown:

You need umbrella girls to race outdoors?

I'd say that in this case they serve the exact same purpose as they do in real motorsports: to give the (mainly male) audience something to look at, because obviously the actual race isn't intreresting enough on its own.

So it's likely a Friday this update comes? What are you guys going to do in the meantime? I'm going to rack up the daily login bonus multiplier till then.

ITT: Is it only me or is the entire course made with Course Maker? The replay camera angles are randomized like that of GT5's, road texture is very smooth like Course Maker road surfaces, and even the menu screen'a background camera angle is exactly the same as the generic Course Maker camera angles.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but I'm predicting what you see of Sierra is what you can get in GT6's Course Maker.

It's probably made with the GPS track maker tool (as it seems to match existing roads really well). They drove a circuit, captured the GPS data and then put it in the track maker.

Doesn't appear to be that at all. Sorry, but not a chance.

It appears to be the case. You're right, it's likely.

Must be joking...

I'm sorry people but the GPS track creator was certainly not used to build Zahara, and won't be used when recreating real world locations EVEN IF a good portion of the track is on a Fantacy layout..

Its not going to scan and recreate the route you drive, come on guys.

The GPS track creator at best can map the route along what you plan to make a track. Then input the data to Course Maker widen or arrow the track where you like, add a generic background, maybe adjust some options for the track, have a nice day. It cant tell how wide the road is, or what any details are. Its just a squigily line in an open space of nothingness until we use CM to give it some life.

Yep, I think the base roads came from the GPS course maker then they just made it more appealing using extra assets. But the way the road is detailed, the curbs, etc remember a lot the GT5 course maker.

It does appear to be the case. At least the match is pretty good. With some fancy bits here and there, but maybe the course maker can edit the route recorded by GPS...

You misunderstood me. I never claimed the GPS course maker built the entire scenery as well.
It records the GPS position. Of course, that's a kind of scanning, but not in the way I think you mean. There are a bunch of smartphone apps that records your GPS position, that's not very hard to do.

I don't buy for one sec Course Maker had anything at all to do with Zahara, that's comical IMO its hype train with nothing to back it up.... Silly speculation like CM tracked RBR

Even if your driving down the middle of the road the entire time, it would be a more dificult than the method they used on RBR to build Zahara, given the length of the track why on earth would they make recreating the track accurately much more difficult? Imagine how crap the tracks would be if your method was used. They would be beyond crap

I think this mini-map is just for a 'Section' reference - linked to that green sector indicator
there's a small bar split in 2 (or 3) inside the map... maybe this bar (and the map itself) will be filled with a color represented on this signs along the track

k9pMval.png

TWVjHe3.png

example: the blue section has 12 'sectors', the red one has 10, and so on...
when you pass this colored signs (or the yellow watches along the track) on the end of that specific section, a part on that little bar will be filled with a respective color

the first one on the video is blue and the last is red (or pink) - which appears to show a different mini-map

The thing is that there is a lot of things to back it up:

1. The track and trackside detail and camera angles looks a lot like course maker tracks in GT5
2. A course maker with GPS functionality has been anounced for GT6
3. Kaz said in an event recently that the GPS tool is being tested (he said that he had it "in his hands" if I remember it correctly)
4. Kaz said in an interview regarding the course maker that they would probably use the tool to make some tracks to release to the game and then later on release the actual tool

Now, if you're using the course maker to build a track layed out along real roads in the landscape you're using, and you are developing a GPS functionality for it, why not use the GPS functionality to record the route? It will probably be faster than laying out the route by hand and you'll also get to test the GPS function.

What is silly about that?

1) meaningless

2) nothing to do with Zahara

3) nothing to do with Zahara

3) nothing to do with Zahara

4) make CM Fantacy tracks, not recreate real locations. This again has nothing to do with Zahara

Following paragraph has again nothing to do with Zahara. It's not accurot in the slightest to recreate a real location, only map a rout taken, this would provide data like in GT5 where we modified sections of a map layout to come up with a "course" base then we add in the details. None of this is applicable to Zahara.
