Also, let me just clear some things up;
- Ok, people who think that a maintenance must occur to receive an update are wrong because the biggest update yet, - v1.10, occured with no maintenance just like a few other updates.
- PSN Updates have nothing to do with GT6 updates.
- The update will either occur on Wednesday or Friday (JAPAN TIME)
- There has never been an update on Thursday (JAPAN TIME)

Also another thing to note is that the event where Zahara was used took place on Wednesday last week. So, if I'm right, the update could occur tomorrow at around this time. However, in saying that, may I just bring up a bit of definitive history;
Here we go guys, I've been digging up previous updates days and this is what I've found;
v1.01- Friday
v1.02- Tuesday
v1.03- Monday
v1.04- Monday
v1.05- Monday
v1.06- Monday
v1.07- Wednesday
v1.08- Friday
v1.09- Wednesday
v1.10- Friday
v1.11- Wednesday
*Note that all these times are based on the Japan release day.
Ok, so Monday is the most popular for updates followed by Wednsday and Friday with 3 updates each. However, if you notice since v1.07, the update day has been switching between Wednesday and Friday. So, v1.11 occured on a Wednesday so if the patterns and trends continue we could be seeing Zahara on Friday (Japan Time).

So v1.12 looks like it is more than set to be released on either Wednesday (tomorrow) or Friday (Japan Time). But I'd be putting money on this Friday (Japan Time) as the history looks to damning to stray away from.

Oh, I just watched the video and the track is really missed opportunity for me. This is track fast like Monza without chicanes. Where is the uneven surface of common road like that? Where are the twisties like Costa di Amalfi in GT4, where are some tunnels, where is the city part like Citta di Aria in GT4, where is that local atmosphere without those cartoony looking banners and barriers?

Cant please everyone. Maybe if (when) track editor comes you can make "hairpins" or "tunnels" and have "common road features". Some things are never enough for people. As for the leaked videos being "douchey", I dont get it... Nico video can be had by plenty of people. Its not like this GT event was some secret that no one was suppose to see.

I only got to watch 2 minutes of the new video and it looks like a whole lot of fun. Those jumps aren't severe (since everyone had been talking about it because they dislike Cape Ring). And I like how there's big risks to watch for.

Maybe if Gran Turismo would ever make an arcade port, it would be the time rally mode used for the special event. It's like a classic arcade racing game with this.

I agree with you. I was gonna say it earlier but I didn't wanna influence people to much so I waited to see if I was the only one thinking this way, and yeah, I agree with you. And just to be clear I still think this track can totally be a good track, but for me it isn't as good as it could've been. For the exact reason you said too, they missed a chance with running through the narrow city streets and twisty country roads (I did expect some more tight hairpins). Also the lack of the track joining other roads. There are no turns in intersections or anything, it's a closed off track that has a city road. Again, I still think it will be good, but it won't be all that it can be in my opinion. That said, in the video it's still hard to tell what the perception of speed is and everything, so we really can't pass judgement until we do drive it ourselves.

Same feeling here...
It does not really looks like the track in the february teaser, does it ?
Or is it just the impression I get from the (too big) triple screen setup :rolleyes:

It's hard to say - it could be special/optimized/PS4 hardware running in this stream. But as others stated, it could be that distant cars can be compressed. There's already tessellation, but it would make sense that a very distant asset could go completely un-rendered, only tracking in-game location, AI, and physics property data to take loads off the processor. It would be cool to have this translated to the larger maps in the game, as there's low likelihood of seeing an opponent on the opposite side of a track. The only issue is what would happen if this new full grid ends up in one place on one track - something tells me there's currently a 16 car limit for a reason.

If this becomes an official new mode, however, we may start seeing more than 16 cars on some tracks, and I find that exciting... Just imagine what PD will be able to do when they move to next-gen!

It's a single lap event so they can 'retire' cars after you're ahead of them by a certain distance. I'd expect there's only 16 unique car models on the track but I haven't checked yet.

Are we definitely looking at an entire lap here?

Or is it just a video of the fast section.

Perhaps there's more to be seen, further down the track, or has someone worked out that this is an entire lap that has exactly the same start/finish line?

:irked:👍

Only seen the first 3 minutes or so, but a narrow-ish fast paced long track? hell yeah.

It is definitely the full lap. As you can see in the video the car does go past the start/finish line at the very end.

In that case it's not twisty enough for me.
Shame.

And how much money is Goodwood start guy on?
They fetched him all the way from England to Spain, just to wave a flag?

:mischievous:👍

Well I hoped for narrow, twisty track with city and forest section... With a lot of hairpins or tunnels (just like Edger)... It's to fast for my taste...

Let us hope that Wednesday (Japanese time) will bring us the update!

Then let us wish for Friday since I don't think it is going to happen tomorrow.

Anything after that, well I give up.
