No update today. Goodnight

I think so too.

Here

Says Today's (September 9th Japan time) PSN maintenance pushed back to September 16th.

But tomorrow and day after tomorrow is a scheduled maintenance.
So, tomorrow or day after tomorrow is the Merry 1.12 Day?

oh wow. i missed that news feed (to much photo editing :P) and now i am so god damn excited!

So wait, no update today (Tuesday) ? I don't want to stayup all night for nothing like a few weeks ago.

Not weird, you can put numbers on all your road cars since the 1.10 update.

Sorry for dp
I'm just happy with the possibility of the AI cars having numbers while you're also using a number

About the track being fast, with no hairpins, that should be expected with it being a real life everyday use road (specially since it's not a very old road or a hill climb)

Doesn't resemble the Sierra logo at all... btw, you can see how this bar is filled before they pass through that sign with the Sierra's logo on the last video uploaded by TurismoBad

I wasn't (that) wrong after all lol
Special Event - check!
Bar in the middle of the mini-map - check!
It does resemble the Sierra Logo, mark my words for when we get a more definitive video or experience like, oh I don't know, actually having the track in GT6 (not including in the coding)
Nevermind, just say a video that looks pretty damning for your theory.

I think this shows 3 different cars

the GTO he picked and 2 others

Judging by the loading screen, I think that first one may be a Fiat 500 Abarth... As for the second one, it's hard to tell... It somewhat holds the appearance of the 2010 Subaru Impreza, but I'm leaning more towards the BMW M4... In fact, as I'm writing this I feel like I'm seeing the signature bimmer grill and emblem placement.

How come did no one of you realized he overtook 22 cars?!?!?!

I would imagine you could only do that on other large tracks. Only being able to process so much at once. Which means you could probably do this on a few tracks like SSRX, Le Mans, Nürburgring, etc.

I think PD sometimes runs the game on more powerful machines than the PS3. That's one of my theories on all their "broken promises" too, like maybe the finished all these features a long time ago on their PCs, then realized, "Oh wait, the PS3 can't do that. We'll have to downsize the course maker to 100km. Or 50. Or 10. Or... we're going to have to rethink this...

It's hard to say - it could be special/optimized/PS4 hardware running in this stream. But as others stated, it could be that distant cars can be compressed. There's already tessellation, but it would make sense that a very distant asset could go completely un-rendered, only tracking in-game location, AI, and physics property data to take loads off the processor. It would be cool to have this translated to the larger maps in the game, as there's low likelihood of seeing an opponent on the opposite side of a track. The only issue is what would happen if this new full grid ends up in one place on one track - something tells me there's currently a 16 car limit for a reason.

If this becomes an official new mode, however, we may start seeing more than 16 cars on some tracks, and I find that exciting... Just imagine what PD will be able to do when they move to next-gen!
