See @Amac500 's comment above and the news item reported by Jordan which states "According to comments in the live broadcast, the track and “Quick Match” mode are both set to appear in GT6 update 1.12, slated for release sometime this week."

It's not a rumour reported by a GTP member, it's mentioned in PD's live broadcast.

I quote :

According to Japanese member “BRING MORE TUNA” who also watched the stream, GT6 Update 1.12 is coming next week and will finally release the track to the public. It will also reportedly include “Quick Match” online racing features, new Vision GT cars, and a “new dashboard instrumentation option”. Stay tuned for more…

I hope he was right;)

Because no Japanese site as Famitsu mentions it.

Oh fair enough, so it was kinda both then! Hmm perhaps Jordan should've explained that instead of raising our hopes ;)

Yeah it loops back to the same place on the dam at the north of the lake.

Edit: updated the layout to be a bit closer and marked the suspension bridges.

How much of that actually follows the real roads?

Well, i don't think this update was confirmed for this week... there's a divergence about that in some sites
Famitsu, for example, referred at 1.12 as the 'free update of September', while in the Autosport's site they clearly stated 'a next week update' and changed after the broadcast

また、グランツーリスモファンにも見逃せないのは、来週予定されているグランツーリスモ6内のアップデートで採用される新要素を使ってのレースも行われる予定。実際にプロドライバーがどう走るのかは必見です!
Google Translate: Also, do not miss the Gran Turismo fans, plans to race in using the new elements that are employed in the update of Gran Turismo 6, which is scheduled next week is also performed. It is a must-see if a professional driver is whether the run actually!

After the broadcast...
近日中にアップデート予定のスペシャルイベント『シエラ・タイムラリー』が世界初公開されたほか、本放送終了後にはドライバーたちのタイムアタック合戦が展開された裏放送もお見逃しなく。
Google Translate: In addition to special events of the near future updates planned "Sierra Time Rally" has been the world's first public, do not miss the back broadcast that has been deployed time attack battle of our drivers in this broadcast after the end.

According to Translator-san, Circuito de la Sierra will be available "whenever we want"

...

No they are not rendered if they are out of sight, that's pretty much what rendering means. Out of sight cars are simple raw data, they are rendered on the screen if you should be seeing them.

...

It depends. Sure, their transformed, textured, lit and shaded tris might not be rasterised (not a given), but, as I've just written, there are other transformations and processes etc. to do with geometry and textures before writing pixel values to a framebuffer. It is sensible to cull processing on everything outside of the view frustum (with a buffer region for fast movement), but that isn't enough with today's games, you have to use fancy LoD and visibility stuff to reduce the complexity of what is in the frustum. I personally believe that is part of the headache with the open areas, given PD's expertise has predominantly been in "tunnels" up until now.

Whats the coordinates ?

Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.

Hey Magellan, your words seem very fitting and appropriate on describing how PD has been leading all of us around the block with the same type of directions... lol

Yeah know even though some of us feel like PD left something on the table with Zahara, this track still might be the ultimate Gran Turismo track. This track will be good for a lot of things for a lot of different people. It can do the Targa Zahara racing I've been talking about, I saw a comment in the news artical that pointed out it will be good for the Touge people, obviously it will serve well as a country road, if your a little ambitious GT3 cars, and I think it will also be good for a tarmac rally course (though PD needs to give a tarmac rally tire, RS tires are too much for rally cars). Any kind of little touring cars should be fun here too.

Also, idk if I'm the only one who did this but I was watching the dashboard on that onboard lap and paying attention to the speed. Now my native tounge is MPH and the display is in KPH, but there were some hard breaking zones and slow corners. A few of them appeared to be as slow as Arnage (before they added runoff). This track might look flowing but the braking might be abrupt enough to prevent it from being too flowing.

The other two cars are
Abarth 500 '09 and Volkswagen Golf VI R '10

There are giveaways for the 500 (red mirrors, side stripes and it being in loading screen). The Golf is driven before the GTO.
So the time rally can be done only with three cars...

So will the track be available offline too? Or just online for the rally for now?

The rally is offline...
It will probably just be added to the arcade track list, making it available for driving both online and offline.

Be aware that there is still Thursday (or the rest of Thursday for those who are on that day), Friday, Saterday, and Sunday (If you consider Sunday the end of the week) for them to release the update. However, like I've said in this thread before, I think we will see it early Thursday (mid to late Thursday for people not in North and South America) or early Friday. PD is not late until everyone has reached 0:00 Monday. We just have to be patient.

If you are saying we can wait for the update in the weekend (Saturday, Sunday), just forget it. PD have never released any updates on weekends. I think that Friday is the limit

It doesn't mean they could...
