My understanding could be entirely wrong but Its like a subscription model. Whats happening here is Sony wants to turn GT7 into an economy so damned that you force the player to turn to the microtransactions. Then the player is paying to just to progress and play the game. Its the same as a subscription service except you also pay $70+ or so for the full game beforehand.
In this case they use the excuse of cars having real world prices with constant inflation to elevate the price and make them harder to drive and obtain

Somene correct me if Sony is trying to do anything else but that with GT7.
They have many developers working on live serevice crap, but none are running into the ground already established IPs to do it.

And fact is Sony is inept at online games, as if GT didnt have enough of Kaz made problems. Its online inpetitude mixed with PD incompetence and Kaz delusions. This game franchise will potentially die.

Yeah, the idea is to ensure a "continuing revenue," whether by subscription fees, paid DLCs or MTs (or all three combined :scared:) It's also know as the "games as a service" or "GaaS" revenue model. Shareholders love the idea, I imagine.

And frustration continues. Does anybody bought R18 to just realize it won't give you the trophy? :D

Everybody must love this awesome game...

There's 2 different R18's. The Hybrid and the old diesel one. Sport had the same trophy but it should specify which R18 because that's annoying. I tried first with the new Hybrid on Sport and it didn't work but the old 2011 one did give it to me. Unfortunately in 7 the old one is 3M Cr and the new one is 1M. So I'd haphazard a guess it's the same as Sport and you have to buy the old R18 instead of the new one. Unless you did and it still didn't give it to you then I don't know.

Yes, but that's not the point. I'm not a Destiny player, yet his articles reach me. That's the point.

I didn't even know Tassi a D2 hardcore until you said something, I just read the occasional article he posts on whatever current BS is going on gaming.
He's just taking any excuse to take pop-shots at D2 because he's a warframe fanboy.

I feel like PD and Sony missed an opportunity with GT Sport.

Just make it a live service separate from the the mainline GT games with constant content aimed toward people who just want to race online.. like iRacing but for consoles, and charge $5/10 Month or whatever. Keep adding real world tracks and cars with a focus a more realistic driving/racing experience. Or spin off a smaller team that only handles GT sport. There's a market for people who would easily pick up a PS5 for this type of service. Trying to cater to both crowds with this all encompassing game that has to start from scratch every release is highly annoying. Kaz's obession with trying to recreate pokemon with cars where the multiplayer and driving experience take a back seat to the pretty menus and classy music stopped being cute a while ago.

Hmmm cool, gives me a bit more time to indulge! Selling cars...though...I hope people arent too excited for this those selling prices are gonna be like a trade in at Gamestop. Hahah im sure we'll see a dime a dozen a day topics talking about the rip off that option is going to bring to the game as well.
You get never get back what you paid for in GT...although if Kaz is sticking to the real world prices thing then if you buy a new car now that eventually becomes a classic in the real world then by the time GT8 is delayed for the third time you'll have a serious investment on your hands 😃

For myself, I'll be more interested to see if they'll let you sell gift cars this time around.

Don’t bank on it. They might only allow selling of dupes, and you’ll have to keep one of each. Or like in Sport, you might only be able to sell cars you’ve bought, and prize cars have to be discarded for no money.

What they’re doing (whatever it is it involves selling cars) is a step in the right direction at least, but until it’s confirmed I can have total control of my garage I won’t really be satisfied. I just hate the C63 for one thing, ugly, ugly, ugly, want it gone...
It's a matter of opinion, but I think it looks light years better then the 2017 Fort GT. Every time I'm behind one in a race all I see is this:

Yes, I bought the new one because they said R18 and I have one! :D It's fine, the game is frustration maker since release and I like LMP cars... in other games but maybe I will play it here too.

LOL, I got 5000 from gift. Nice. Like I said and MC too.

I'm really happy with PD's response to all the negativity. I'm sure Sony made sure the monetization will remain. I am a little disappointed they didn't address the problems with the livery editor. That thing is so unpredictable whether it eats all your decals or actually applies them. I guess two saves is better than one in this instance. Overall, I'm feeling all happy inside that my favourite franchise is trying to make me happy again.

Aren't missions a one time payout once receiving gold?

If they're adding these new and endurance races to missions I hope they would be repeatable and add include the drag races also.
Damn, I didn’t even think about that… they better be repeatable, that’d really suck if they weren’t.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Massive Changes Coming to Gran Turismo 7 in Response to Fan Feedback

Polyphony Digital studio head Kazunori Yamauchi has made a special post on the PlayStation Blog in which he has given more information about near-future updates coming to Gran Turismo 7, as well as an in-game boost for those affected by the recent server outage...
Really good news, thank you Kaz San! ☺️

I honestly don't care if they keep the MTX, as long as everything is reasonably achievable without them.

And it definetely isn't before this April update.

The clue for the trophy is in the letters TDI, it’s the 3m one unfortunately

Not sure if it’s only me but I am hating this Bop thing online, when it was tuning I could search YouTube and take a good setup and test it/tweak it and enjoy some real competitive races, now, as soon as I post a time, I’m always position 9-14 and improving my time only means the top 8 are improved too? Don’t get that, really enjoyed racing those mini in the last race but not so much now, sport needs more variety - nice touch with the 1m though, I’ve been rubberbanding custom races each moring before work for 90mins/110k with the tomahawk so hoping the new content is worthwhile

Yes, an article by a hardcore Destiny 2 fan is surely going to make waves. And then he uses the most money sucking fomo filled game as an example. Take it from me and the 100 of thousands of Destiny players, we don't need Bungie's help, they make Kaz look like santa..

He is right about one thing, Bungie knows how to nickel and dime its players so Sony got that right.
Oh please, destiny only does MTX for cosmetics, and you get tons of in game currency to get many of those cosmetics anyway. FOMO for pretty skins? please..

GT Sport was, why are you even surprised?
It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re surprised, does it? The fact remains that it’s wrong, which is the point I think he was making.

Also, GT7 was referred to as the most “complete” Gran Turismo yet in the marketing campaign, so you actually can be surprised by the state GT7 was, and still is in.

A 100% increase is small change to them. If it were 200% or even 300%, I'll at least be satisfied.

I also hope they can remove Panorama from the World GT Series Championship (my current grinding place for personal reason) and replace it with another circuit; preferably Suzuka so the A.I. cars won't keep brake-checking me every dam turn.

GT Sport was, why are you even surprised?
It wasn't. GT Sport was what it was. They said "Here is GT Sport, it's an online focused eSports title. It has about 150 cars, 29 tracks, a driving school and two FIA championships".

Yes, those were low numbers and yes, they obviously added a lot to it after that but the initial product did what is said it would do. They never said the game wasn't finished and it'd be completed over time.

GT7 was marketed as the most complete Gran Turismo game to date. It was not marketed as a game that will take years to bring it up to that mark.

Lol. GTS wasn't $70.

But yes, Polyphony has been putting out games that are incomplete at release for a solid decade now. Not being surprised doesn't mean that it's not still ********.

I'd actually argue that GTS has been the only one that wasn't incomplete at release - it released with everything it claimed to, it was just really, really small and focused on being iRacing for the masses. GT5 was broken, GT6 was incomplete by Polyphony's own admission, and GT7 has big gaps where it's pretty obvious content should go when they get around to it.

"As the culmination of the Gran Turismo series, major improvements have been made in every area, such as its systems and overall content" they say on the purchase page. Systems improvements? Absolutely, they're the best they've ever been. Overall content? Don't make me laugh, bitterly.
