-> I think we should modify the track selection to this:

???

I hope to god by "Throwing cars around stunt arenas", they don't mean a demolition derby...

Only if you want to. FM3 has a "Playground" area where people can go to have demo derbies and to other things. This provides a place for people who want to just smash up the cars to go and hopefully decrease the amount of people who drive around the tracks backwards.

It is probably just a selection of cones, skid pads and stuff. I doubt it's going to loop da loops.

And for go-karts i doubt it will effect the career much, there might be one or two go-kart championships but the sunday cup will be your second hand banger racing. :)

Why the heck are people complaining about his news? Granted I was annoyed at the whole premium/standard thing, even though we don't know for sure what it means.

Then I come on this site tonight and see confirmation of everything you could posssibly want from a racing simulator, and people are complaining ! I mean, seriously people, you must be a real joy to live wit in real life !

Damage, Weather, Track Editor, Night-Day transition races......reverse lights ;)

Anyone who complains about GT5 now doesn't deserve to play it.

And as for the stunt arena, has anyone watched the Top Gear episode with Ken Block driving James May? Thats what I think of when someone mentions stunt arena, which will be increadibly cool.

Go Carts is an obvious thing to include in a racing simulator, I mean where does every single racer start their career?

I don't know if people are complaining so much about the news itself but rather the likeliehood of it living up to expectations. I mean lets face it, so far GT5 has managed to be pretty impressive at setting expectations and then startling you with how reality doesn't measure up.

Making a Tarmac/Dirt playground would be awesome. Going round there in my WRC C4. :)

Uncool.

Its people like you that drove him away, In retrospect he is probably the most reliable source that we have had.

Noooooooo, you misunderstood! That was billion times ironical! I appreciate amar a lot and I supported him when all those bad people were whinning about him.

If they do release a track editor for online play, hopefully they make the player created maps organised online with a rating system and the best maps to play.

Stunt Arena =Gymkhana... check out Ken Block.

This is great news if true..... and not a misinterpretation on sonys part.

When I heard "Stunt arena", I thought of this awesome little game:

Stuntman.jpg

If it is anything close to the type of stuff you could do in that game, with Yamauchi's cinematic brain behind it, it's gonna be 🤬 AWESOME!

Stuntman... Goddammit, that one was incredibly awesome.
I kinda doubt the stunt arena is going to be anything like this, though.

Still, fingers crossed for rocket proppelled ski jumps.

Ugh... Why does everyone associate Gymkhana with Ken Block?
What he did was staged and would barely qualify as gymkhana rehearsal. Have none of you seen any actual Gymkhana?
I agree, the stunt area sounds like it could be a Gymkhana or AutoX course. That could be a lot of fun.

I've only seen Ken Block do that sort of thing.

I would say that's the case with almost anything that's been marketed and sold: and thing from Apple iPhone to Forza 3 to Zyban. The difference with GT the expectation is usually self-inflicted because I don't remember any of these informations being official. Which is why it's kind of ironic with the Premium/Standard fiasco because that info on the other hand was released by PD exactly a year ago.

Referring back to the hints we got about first wind, second wind, etc...

The one about the track editor says that you will be able to create them from parts of existing tracks.

Now, this would be difficult in my opinion. As crazy as it may seem, maybe you can create layouts using satellite navigation data, just to get the layout, from say Google Maps, then you edit it and populate the surrounding area yourself? Would enable you to create races on your street, etc, and may explain why they have a lot more city tracks.

Yes a lot is self inflicted (ironically by the same people in large who are so pained by the negativity resulting now) but a lot of it also comes from PD. I understand not wanting to go public with info like this, but they obviously carefully played the information field to skew beliefs in one direction over the truth.
