Has anyone tried importing Ground Zeroes save file into Phantom Pain ? Do we need to save all prisoners in GZ main mission and anti air emplacement side op to get all the bonus staff in PP ?

I did save all prisoners in GZ main mission and anti air side ops, uploaded the save then downloaded the save in PP, but I only unlocked the sneaking suit used in GZ :( I'm still on Episode 3, mission 3, with a few side ops completed ( 1 assassination, 2 extraction, and 1 blue print ) I decided no to kill the target and fulton the guy, but he's in the brig now, and can't be assigned, is there a wait period or I have to do something to recruit the man ?

Already found the puppy, got it send back to MB, will see when the DD is available for buddy :)

You are not far enough into the game yet.
Keep playing and don't spoil it for yourself by asking questions here.
Everything will work out in time :)

I just made the mistake of going on Twitter. Right there, first thing I see, is both a very minor spoiler (but every secret that slips feels like air escaping from a balloon, I'm enjoying finding things out for myself! Although having said that I did accidentally blurt out a much bigger spoiler to a friend who I think has blocked me on Steam to avoid more accidents...) and also a great motivation to keep going. I wonder just how much more there is to see in this game.

Just to be clear it was a photo of an item, not a new location or anything huge, but there's absolutely no sign of it on the tech tree so I wonder how much more is hidden.

Edit: My emblem.

I don't know if the consoles have the same bug (I'd be surprised) but on PC, if you use words in your emblem like I have, the whole thing grinds to a 3-5fps halt. Therefore I had to make something quickly, so I pressed up to get to the bottom of the word list and saw I just had "Yellow" and "Woman", hence Yellow Woman PMC was born. I've been colouring my lethal guns yellow (my non-lethal ones are all blue) as a result - I might start making my secondaries pink.

Edit again:

Some things I love doing include:

- Ghosting side ops. Nothing beats the thrill of threading between soldiers, plucking a prisoner from their cell and casually strolling out again, it's not even that difficult (with D-Dog spotting for you) but it's still quite thrilling.

- Stealthing armoured vehicle or heavy infantry side ops in daytime. Doing it at night is too easy...

- Sorties using the cheapest possible loadout - AK, grade 1 WU pistol, 12 Fulton balloons, empty mags and olive drab fatigues, I think that's a 580 GMP deployment. I love that all the development is entirely optional because if you play a particular way, that loadout can achieve everything shy of shooting down an attack chopper.

- Conversely, using Quiet set to fire at will while you walk into an outpost through the front door is great, I just wish she could switch between the suppressed and loud versions of her rifles on the fly - sometimes the distraction is good, sometimes not.

Also last night I destroyed a helicopter with C4.

Yeah, it's incredibly annoying. Can't believe stuff like that slipped by their QA team - if they've got one, that is. Either that, or Konami/KojiPro didn't care enough about the PC version to fix it. Either way, a chore so implement words in your emblem on PC. Had to go with a word far down the list myself for that very reason.

Therefore:

Some pics of Japanese game store display of MGS V, the tv on display looks like episode 3, looks dull, maybe the tv is not properly setup.

The Phantom Pain boosted PS4 sales in Japan :)

Over 3 million copies so far with 72% on PS4 alone  and Xbone only 22%.

Strange that the game sold there has no plastic seal with sony ribbon ? The PS3 copy that I bought had plastic seal with sony ribbon and gold Day 1 sticker :)

Just wrapped up Episode 14. Very easy to get an S rank. I'm liking Africa so far, but got really frustrated with Episode 13. I just could not do it undetected no matter which way I took it. The design of the facility is just devilish, with choke points that restrict movement and lots of elevation overlooking wide open spaces.

Just finished Main Story. Overall great or even marvelous game but I have a feeling there is a big chunk of cut content somewhere in Konami offices to be released as DLC or never to be seen again (unless there is some kind of super secret ending that I'm yet to experience).

About the ending without spoilers. I have mixed feelings about it. From storytelling and gameplay perspective. Some of the things you see coming from miles away (usual problems with prequels) and some are very surprising (I mentioned it before but it is really necessary to listen to all tapes, at least the "yellow ones"). Thankfully there is nothing as bad as !MGS4 SPOILER! :
45 minutes long cringe worthy wedding scene with your least favorite characters like Johnny/Drebin/Sunny.
It just left me little bit unsatisfied with resolution to some major characters in the franchise and the whole canon storyline. Maybe with time my point of view will change.

Learned a new tactic for the game. When trying to stop a jeep, have your horse poop on the road and the jeep will spin out in it, causing the driver to be stunned. No more putting my horsey in the middle of the road.

whats everyones emblems look like? heres mine.

There is one very interesting fact about emblems. To be safe I'm hiding it although you won't find any details or real spoilers inside.

Heh, I can tell you guys that there is one emblem, that when used in your logo, has storyline repercussions.

I just got special volunteer : Hideo Kojima  Is this a secret recruit or part of the story ?
You can save him in GZ and import the save to gem him over to Mother Base.

I tend to RPG them in the face. Works well, too :D Or place a mine/C4 on the road.

And less than 500,000 copies sold on Steam if I'm not mistaken :indiff:

Within week those are good numbers for pc I'd say.

Sure it should be higher, cause lets face it.. It's best on PC :D
Sort of objectively too tbh, can play in with pad just as the console versions (if you wish), and make it look and run better. :) Altho I think the console versions are running and looking very fine in this case too.

The butterfly emblem for Quiet? I stumbled upon it on a youtube vid, and actually didn't want to know. I guess one would need to stop using the internet for not getting any spoilers.

Apparently if you place Kojima on the combat unit, you need to rescue him again as he keeps getting lost

Also 500000 sold on steam, then one needs to add all the keys bought elsewhere. 60€ is ridiculous. Payed 40€ on a german site with instant delivery. Had a key preordered for 30€, on release the prices jumped up, and the shop hadn't enough keys and I didn't want to wait a whole day more.

Man, that Episode 8: Occupational Forces just sucked balls for me. Thanks to my controller issues. But, I got through it, though I scared the dog screaming at the TV like a damn fool. I didn't like that mission one bit.

But, I have a large staff, overloaded waiting room, too. I've finally got the private army working for me and the GMP is rolling in.

Still haven't found a Transportation Specialist yet. I hear that Episode 10: Angel With Broken Wings has one, but is very difficult to find. Can any of you be of some help before I tackle that episode?

I wish we can trade soldiers in our army like Peace Walker. I guess that made the game too easy, or something.

just read about that this morning, i will be doing it for sure.

Well, no MGS for me today, as I somehow managed to stick my credit card in my pocket this morning instead of my apartment key... I swear the entire cast of MGS could be standing in my apartment in the morning, and I wouldn't notice. I'm like a zombie.

Have to walk 13km to my parents house when I get home, as they have my spare key. I guess I can treat it like a Side Op.

Well,

I just finished chapter 2 and I... I'm not satisfied. What happens to her after, if she does actually exist and isn't a hallucination drummed up by BB?

I also finished the Paz story and boy, did that leave me sad. It was satisfying, though, to see what BB actually wanted to happen nine years prior and why he actually hallucinated Paz.

Also acquired the Jehuty bird and Anubis Dog. I loved that when you tranq the bird, it makes the Target Lock sound so familiar to those who played ZoE 1 and 2. I was sad, though, to see that Dognubis didn't make any unique sounds (such as it's zero shift sound).

I still need to upgrade Hand of Jehuty so I can actually use it a decent ways away.

*edit*
So,...is Truth: The Man Who Sold The World the true ending?

If so, that..explains a lot, actually. It explains how BB was in Two Places in one in MG and how he "survived" to build Zanzibar in MG2.

Hm..

Awesome game, playing it on PC. Very smooth experience so far, have encountered a few minor UI bugs, but nothing big. I like how they cut up the game in separate episodes, but having end credits and Kojima's name flashed every few minutes gets a bit old after some time. Guess that's his goodbye gift to Konami.

With regards to chapter 11:

When walking towards the plant, I encountered Quiet, but a sandstorm appeared and I sneaked past her. I assume I can recruit her later on again, or do I have to restart the mission? Also, I play with pad and I guess you really benefit from using the mouse in this part. ;)

You can replay Episode 11 at a later time from your iDroid. I did the same thing. Next time you're in your chopper, just select 11 from the main missions and you'll be thrown back into that fight.

Last night I decided it would be a good idea to sell some resources to fund some development... I started off by selling a few hundred Biological Materials (because I had, like, twice as much of that than any other material) to fund a specific gun I wanted. Then I sold about 8,000 more to buy more stuff... Then I thought I might as well round it off to a nice and even 100,000 units in stock so I sold as much as I could in one go - turns out there's a 5 million GMP cap or something - and bought loads of stuff. I've been prioritising guns that have a question mark on the tech tree so I can see what's coming up, there's some really cool stuff there but nothing outlandish yet.

Also I was an idiot and ignored a gun I'd never use that had a medium durability suppressor on it - naturally I should've researched it just for parts - for, like, long enough to put another five levels on my R&D team.

I also unlocked an item I'd not heard of yet:
Fulton clothes for D-Dog, which enable him to Fulton a subdued enemy or prisoners! I haven't bought that yet though.

@Solid Lifters
You're informed right at the start of the mission that there are other prisoners besides Malak, they're not hard to find, I think one of them is the specialist you want because I rescued them all on my first playthrough and the transportation specialist was crossed off the 'things to find' list. That was a long time ago for me, though, maybe 40 hours of play time?

Anyway, as always I'm already looking forward to getting home so I can play more, but that's... 11 hours away.

Well apparently the END OF MGS WAS CUT :irked::(. Mission 51. Kingdom of Flies. It is on the collectors edition as concept art fully voiced,... It was a story centered, heavy mission, closing a lot of gaps in the whole MGS story and even the first MGS (MGS or MGS3 ?) , Closing gaps in Caracters... WTH

I can imagine that this could have ended in the public disgrace that happend to Kojima as it was very probably not his idea to cut the story short.

Chances of a DLC are very slim due to that situation. 🤬 Konami

I encountered Quiet on a side op. You just need to cross the
ruins

If you miss him, there is another available in Episode 13.

I couldn't find him in Episode 10 - there's a list of available skills and blueprints that appear over the map on the mission select screen - but I think I know where he is:

There's a prisoner on the top level of the Lamar Khaate Palace, but if you want to rescue him (and you need to in order to meet one of the objectives), you have to do it very quickly because he will die.

Disappointing. It looks like a very interesting idea with new locale and new enemies. Really weird, especially with all the assets already done. I wouldn't mind if they released that mission with some extra stuff as DLC called "the Phantom chapter" or something.

Yup, having butterfly emblem in your logo before mission 41 stops side op 150 and mission 45 from appearing. Quiet won't go MIA but you also won't experience one of the endings and coolest cutscenes.

To get butterfly emblem you have to get butterfly rank in 3 missions in a row IIRC.

Wow, some of you guys play fast. I'm nowhere near completion and I put in 30 hours already.

A brief story: I was rescuing two prisoners from the Da Smasei Laman base. Until I found out that both of them were in one cell, and in front of it had 6 guards. So I snuck to a point above the cell and threw a bunch of empty magazine cartridges to a point where all 6 of them can hear it. Then all of them went to investigate. I just kept throwing cartridges and all 6 took the bait. Once they're far enough I extracted one prisoner. Of course when I went back for the other one the 6 guards returned to their original positions. So I baited them again. And they all took it. I couldn't stop laughing about all of the guards snooping around one spot.

I just finished Mission 13, and yeah it was difficult to stay undetected. I managed to stay low but it only got me a B-rank. I still have no idea how I reached the Stop switch.

I had a pretty intense battle last night, the long version is really long so the short version is that I infiltrated a base to extract a target through the smallest possible bottleneck (a door in a fence), held up a load of people between where I entered and where I was spotted, got spotted and had a prolonged firefight while I was using my cheapest possible loadout. I managed to win, but damn, it was hard. On the plus side I finally learned to stop caring about enemy ranks while in a shootout, I didn't even try to scan any while all the bullets were flying. I do know I indirectly caused an A++ R&D guy to explode, though, by tranqing him twice just before he pulled a grenade... So sad.

^ that happened to me too. Stopped a truck with one of them A++. Dispatched the useless one with a Hs, wanted to go around the truck to tranq the other, which was a succes. Only to be followed by an exploding grenade.

Hillarious !
