This game was great until episode 33 when
it starts rehashing old missions
so now I don't really enjoy it much. And the online mode is honestly pretty terrible and I wish I could have it disabled by default.

Yep. And the red part lights up like a light bulb at night. It doesn't stay on your head for long.

OK, I now know what happens when you don't take regular showers. :D

It's funny, how one mission was completed before I even started it and got immense amount of credits, but no rating at all. Just a - was it. I guess I free roam too much and destroy many items that will be in later missions.

I guess I wasn't supposed to kill that old operative guy in that one side op, I guess? What should have I done with him?

Anybody accidentally kill a few base soldiers whilst trying to increase morale? I have, twice. Ran one over one in my jeep, too. LOL It was an accident, honest!

EDIT: Oh, is there anything you can do with "trouble maker" staff members besides dismiss them?

I had a suicidal donkey run infront of me on the road. It came from nowhere and headed straight for the bonnet of the jeep

We have the real thing here in SoCal. Big Bear has tons of donkeys that own the roads.

Anybody have their Mother Base attacked, yet? I have a lot of machine guns and mortars set up, but they never get used. I was thinking of selling them, since I'm low of GMP.

This game's pretty fun so far. I'm on the mission "Where do the Bees Sleep?" but I'm progressing in a slow and steady pace. Actually it's been a while since I've played a game in a prolonged session.

The only thing that's pretty weird is the loading times. I have the game installed on my SSD but it takes around a minute to load my save (excluding the intro). And when I bring up my iDroid to view Mother Base it takes a minute to load everything.

Try playing offline. Helps with the iDroid lag 👍

Assign two troublemakers (or any even number of them) to the same unit, they will cancel each other out.

EDIT: I'm obviously blind. The following answer is in regards to question nobody asked. Hypothetically it would go something like that: Did anyone had their FOB attacked?

Yes, I've been attacked multiple times. Unfortunately there are connectivity problems, so very often you are not able to defend your FOB in person. I had 2 successful invasion stops. You get loads and loads of GMP (I got around 750 000 GMP each time).

I also had 1 successful invasion as an attacker while there was an active defender. Cheeky bastard was camping exit point. Grenade launcher in my loadout must have been a real surprise for him (I've learned my lesson before, always have explosive projectile for campers while invading).

I'm pretty sure those missions are optional and you should look at them as "challenge runs".

Hmmmm, that doesn't make sense, to me. It would make more sense if they did more damage, but I'll take your word for it since I'm sure you're a lot farther in the game than I.

OK, I was told, by numerous people, your Mother Base cannot be attacked at all. It's only your FOB that can get attacked. So, is this what you mean, or was I told incorrectly that your Mother Base can be attacked?

It would make a lot of sense if your MB can be attacked, since we collect weapons that get deployed all over the place. If not, I'm selling them for GMP, which I am running very low in, at the moment.

1. It is explained in game that 2 Troublemakers will focus on each other when assigned to the same unit and they won't bother anyone else.

2. Oh yeah , sorry. I overlooked the part that you asked about MB and not FOB. Although there is a reason why all that equipment is on your MB.

OK, that makes sense, too.

My friend is having problems with his staff dying from disease. He learned it's from people from Africa and he should have sent them all to quarantine first, before using them. Are you having this problem? I'm not, but I'm not that far in the game, mission wise. I'm just roaming around, farting around, stinkin' up the Afgan air. LOL

OK, sounds good. I'll keep all that weaponry at my MB, then. Don't want to get it destroyed by lack of protection. I knew there must have been some sort of attack coming. I was beginning to think it was supposed to be attacked by other players and Konami got rid of this, and didn't take out the weapons for MB before launch.

You should probably edit out that part. You are entering some heavy spoiler territory. But if you really want to know:

Yes I had that problem. If your friend doesn't know how to handle it. I can give one piece of advice that will help in investigation.

"Words can kill.."

^It is not quite spoiling anything. I don't quite know the character, but the medical unit in Peace Walker basically serves as the same thing.

Glitch I've found from experience: Hitting objects in a jeep (not sure about other vehicles) makes you go faster. It speeds up your wheels like you were stopped against the object (a rock or wall for instance) and gives you a speed boost.

Just unlocked Africa, and I have to say, I'm really impressed by the level design, for want of a better word - each location is unique and very well thought-out. I especially like the way it has overcome the biggest problem with Ground Zeroes: it was too easy to hug the perimeter.

Thinking about picking this game up once it goes on sale at some point in the distant future. Good thing I'm not that worried about following the story because it's already been spoiled for me. Just interested in the open world aspect of it.

43 hours in.

I still haven't beat it, however I have completed most of the development stuff. Not going online until I beat the game though.

Online doesn't work at all for me. Getting the daily log in bonuses seems like a daunting task at this point. Not that big a deal since I've yet to unlock the FOB, but still.

Be that as it may, I just met Quiet a while ago. Not sure whether I like her. Eye candy at its best but I kinda dislike that it seems like that was the primary driving force behind her design.

Just got the PS3 R3 ( Asia/JP ) Day 1 Edition. The PS3 capable of 720p, 1080i and 1080p with DTS 5.1 also available. The sound mixing is awesome, the deep bass really surprises me during prologue/awakening.

I have plasma tv calibrated, and was able to fine tune the brightness for MGS V Ground Zeroes. With Phantom Pain, the brightness setting description said both image should be visible, different to the GZ with right image not visible. I used the movie brightness level for my plasma, as it gives true black with no crush. Then I proceeded to fine tune the brightness slider, used 5 / default for cut scenes, appears to be too bright and a bit washed out, then lowered to 3, to 2 then to 0. 0 gives the darkest but the best contrast, the only drawback is it crushes some shadow details. So I used either 2 or 3, both are great, 2 gives great night gameplay ( darker than 3 but still minimal loss in shadow details ), while 3 offer slight boost in bright scenes.

For resolution, on my 51 inch 1080p plasma, 720p still looks very good even from 1.2m viewing distance, frame rate pretty stable on cut scenes and gameplay. Tried to force 1080i and 1080p, works great, the upscale did the job well ( similar to Uncharted 2 and 3 ), sharper and smoother edges with almost no frame rate hit on 1080i, and slight hit on 1080p ( only on extreme situations ) compared to 720p. The Idroid in 1080i and 1080p really looks nice.
From 3m away, the Phantom Pain looks really nice on 1080i/p.

The motion really standout on plasma, totally different to what I had with LCD tv ( used to have Sammy ) - used to play Ground Zeroes with the LCD. The plasma gave very clear motion and I can see the inferior motion blur effect.

For the gameplay, as usual, I disabled all display marker and reticle. Only used weapon hud when aiming. The 1st person shooting is very well set, the TV response time helped a lot too, night and day compared to my previous LCD. The aiming is very responsive and direct, taking headshots from 50+m with the assault rifle or shorter distance with the gun are like picnic

R3 button can zoom in during gameplay, R2 also work ( on cut scenes ). Taking it slow for now, 5+ hours in and only 3 mission and 2 side ops :)

The disc is made in Japan like all R3 PS3 games, there's a card for Day 1 DLC, and the map, nicely printed with quality paper, the cover also can be reversed with black and white art :)

Japanese voice also available, just like Ground Zeroes that I have. Install mandatory with minimum disk space 6600MB ( install size )

I think I have 60 hours in, and I'm only on mission 7! :D

Used my horsey to block the path on an oncoming truck, and the bastards ran into him! It was pretty damn hilarious how he just feel over on his side instantly and then instantly got back up. LMAO

I know the awesomeness of puppy paw pads! :D

I've made some progress today, not many missions - in fact come to think of it I think I've done two main ops today, they were fun though - but lots of progression in other areas. For one thing I maxed out my R&D strut, next I think I'll go for the base development one just because that makes sense (as they speed up the rate of automatic material refinement), I also researched and built some nice guns, levelled up a load of stuff, maxed out my bonds with everyone, etc.

The story is getting a bit too much like another long running Japanese franchise for my liking but frankly I'm ignoring it anyway, so whatever. I just like running around doing side ops and looking for blueprints so I can carry on developing stuff!

I am on mission 17 with nearly 40 hours on the clock.

The game is so much fun.

I don't even really care for the development anymore. I got my silenced sniper non lethal. Even though its not lethal. I am with it  . I still Fulton people out I don't even need just so I leave no trace. Or I double tap them with a lethal one, just so they don't get back up. Camps completely empty. All gone

But eager to see what upgrades are yet to come. I didn't understand what custom your weapon meant when Neema told it. When I unlocked it. OMG. Not just skins 👍

From the buddies, DD is awesome but it feels too easy.

The horse is okay but not too much of an help.

Quiet can be awesome. 2 men guards, Quiet "Aim", she aims at the one designated. As soon as I shot the other she takes her target down. So ballistic. But sometimes, she wants to help and mayhem brakes loose, because she starts to eliminate a threat that otherwise could have been handled more quietly.

Is there any way to move containers out of buildings?? Also I need more fuel

Yes, there is a way. :)

And You'll need a lot of fuel.

I maxed out loyalty with all my buddies. No surprise considering that gear I have for them is so cool looking and really functional. Hard to decide who I like the most so rotation is the key. That way they'll be always fresh and ready for action. Last but not least, I don't even want to mention what insane prosthetic arms you can develop. ;)

I'm sure someone else has pointed this out by now but on Tuesday (the day of the game's release) I noticed a certain song playing at Quiet's cell but didn't screencap it in time, so I thought I was going crazy..until a few mins ago:

I had a good chuckle.

So how exactly does one gain the ability to customize ones weapons? Completed 7 missions and a few side ops, but still missing that feature.

You need to complete the "Legendary Gunsmith" Side Ops. They won't unlock until you complete Episode 13.

Has anyone tried importing Ground Zeroes save file into Phantom Pain ? Do we need to save all prisoners in GZ main mission and anti air emplacement side op to get all the bonus staff in PP ?

I did save all prisoners in GZ main mission and anti air side ops, uploaded the save then downloaded the save in PP, but I only unlocked the sneaking suit used in GZ :( I'm still on Episode 3, mission 3, with a few side ops completed ( 1 assassination, 2 extraction, and 1 blue print ) I decided no to kill the target and fulton the guy, but he's in the brig now, and can't be assigned, is there a wait period or I have to do something to recruit the man ?

Already found the puppy, got it send back to MB, will see when the DD is available for buddy :)
