I think it'll be the last push of the current gen machines.

That phantom pain trailer got me thinking:

What if there are two simultaneous releases?

The Phantom Pain being one side of the coin whilst Ground Zeros is the other?

Kinda like Pokemon Red/Blue, Megaman Battlechop Network Blue/White, etc?

The two guys in the phantom pain trailer (with bandages n stuff) if we are assuming this is of relevance to MGS, one is obviously Naked Snake, the only other baring the same features as the one in the trailer (eye bandages and such) the only other it could have possibly been in this time frame in solidus snake, but he wore a patch after the jet fight in MGS 2, now the other is open to speculation as we know (guy with full face bandages) what I can at least possibly draw from this is that has been gathered he has suffered from a facial injury/condition or something as has been covered but I dont know if anyone has covered the fact of the title itself "The Phantom Pain" now before I proceed with my idea, lets remember that this series has a habit of not letting people die (Big Boss reappearing in MGS 4 and Gray fox in MGS 1) could this guy with the face bandages not be The Pain himself? He did wear a full face mask except his eyes from which you could see he clearly had some kind of condition or injury and the title is the PHANTOM pain, meaning among other things that mabye he isnt dead or something? I feel I really am clutching at straws, someone tell me im not fully crazy and if there has been any more updates :dopey:

I remember seeing the PS3 and X360 logos after the trailer, right?

Right, it could have been a bluff though.

Certainly possible but remember Ground Zeroes was said to be a prequel to MGS5, which "Phantom Pain" seems to be. It wouldn't really make sense to release a prequel and the follow up simultaneously I don't think.

I think Phantom Pains is a chapter in the Ground Zeroes game.

And I just finished MGS PW on the PS3, and suffice to say it only made my hunger for GZ only worse.

My guess is this : Ground Zero for PS3 late this year and Phantom Pain for PS4 early next year, 2 games for 2 system that brings the story together, sounds like a good plan.

When its saying open your eyes. I feel like I am missing something that I should be seeing?

And I just read this in Liquid's voice...

SNAKE! Did you like my SUNGLASSES?

Liquid!

They are very fashionable!

Edit: If they ever make that movie I will look forward to Liquid shouting out "brother!".

On youtube there are videos that count how many times he says brother in mgs 1 and 2.

Kojima giving GDC 2013 talk to show FOX Engine workflow for Ground Zeroes

GDConf.
On the last day of the early registration deadline, Game Developers Conference 2013 organizers have announced a special lecture from Konami's Hideo Kojima, who will publicly show his division's FOX Engine in detail for the first time, via demonstrations of the development process and workflow behind Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes.

In the session entitled Photorealism through the eyes of a Fox - The core of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, he and his staff will share the key components and unique methods used to create the visuals seen in Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes.

Demonstrations during the tech-focused sponsored talk will center around the FOX Engine lighting system, character realism, environmental changes, graphics techniques and explanations, and the FOX Engine tools.

Hideo Kojima will take to the stage along with technical director Junji Tago, lighting artist Masayuki Suzuki, and CG art director Hideki Sasaki, as they showcase the FOX Engine's features and workflow to GDC 2013 attendees.

Taboos you say? So the protagonist will be a black Jewish lesbian who is married, but is extremely racist and has a fetish for burns victims (which is just as well because Solidus, The Fear, Big Boss, Little Boss (errr, I mean Grey Fox, in Metal Gear 2) and Volgin were looking quite crispy last time I saw them). She will probably also run a FoxConn factory.

No but really, I'm all for games pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable in themes other than violence, and I trust Hideo to deal with it well. Either that or extremely melodramatically where everyone cries, but either works for me.

I'm hearing rumors that that whole interview was done using the FOX Engine, which although is pretty darn far-fetched, I wouldn't put it past Kojima to do something like that.

If anything, I'd believe that Joakim himself was made using the fox engine because something about him didn't look correct about the guy but the whole interview being done in the FOX Engine? I don't know about that.

Don't know about the morse code but there's a frame in there that says:

Project Omega
At Matrix Sector (then some numbers, looks like 07- and I can't read the rest)
VR Program Phantom_PainMME
Contractor: Moby Dick Studios
Subject Redacted

And some smaller type underneath that I can't read. Also I can't work out how to take a screenshot without a print screen key...

Here's the frame in question:

Using the print screen key and lots and lots of clicking :P

From what's being said, the morse code says the following:

GENERATING IMAGE HOLD SCNEARIO LOADING HOLD ACTIVATE PHANTOM PAIN DOT MEME HOLD ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR

lol actually I'm loving what Kojima is doing, even if it's too "apparent" which is probably not, I think it's part of a bigger theme maybe the game's theme, can't wait for more
