I'm trying to capture all of the animals, but I don't know where to begin. I've got most of the ones that you'll encounter in the field, but I'm wondering when and where you have to place the capture cages.

Good luck - if you get spotted, you'll be dead before you know it.

My friend plants all of his capture cages in the same spot, then presses triangle and climbs into the chopper.
On the rewards screen he gets a random selection.
Seems to work for him.

You have a method for level 40 don't you?

What is it please?

:irked:👍

Some ultra rare animals can only be found in certain specific spots. And by specific I mean a 25m x 25m area. And the game won't show them until after you've found them. :( Better look it up on the webz, unless you're really patient. Oh, and the game screwed my out of an achievement here, says I miss 3 when I have them all. :s

I have looked it up, but there's not much to help. That's why I have left it so long - in the hopes that a guide will be published.

I'm also missing three codenames from capturing outposts, but I don't know which ones I'm missing.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. I'm focusing on mission objectives and S ranks for now, but I will get around to it. I wish the game gave you more clues about animal locations since the game world is so big. Once I'm done, I will probably go on to Assassin's Creed Syndicate and maybe Arkham Knight or Far Cry Primal - barring, of course, DLC; Kojima has been Tweeting about Season 3 and Episode 3 of his favourite TV shows of late, making people think that something is planned. Eventually I will get back to The Phantom Pain; I'm aiming for a full Subsistence play-through with no buddies, no base expansion and minimal development.

Well, got my nuke, -50k heroism and my bloody horn.

I'm not going to bother. Also, my nuke is already stolen. Apparently, if you have two FOBs, they can steal it from either one, so they can just pick the one with the weakest command platform. This guy was really, really quick though. :D

Do the White Mamba mission, kidnap all the children, do this mission several times, and you get no blood + a lot smaller horn.

So when you get the horn, all there is to do is kidnap children until it goes away? Excellent.
I just find it hilarious that when taken out of context - saving them from a war zone so that they can have a chance at a normal life - kidnapping children is considered heroic.

So the next update (due next month) is adding a grade 8 underbarrel WU pistol, probably similar to the D114 carbine with a long barrel and stock in its standalone form, I'm looking forward to that... It's also adding some other stuff I don't fully understand - stealth mode for FOB invasions, an anti-reflex unit function (I suppose this reduces the enemy's reflex duration) and, oh, another thing but I can't remember what it is. Anyone who has played the game recently already knows this, I'm still PC-less so it's news to me.

Yeah, I just got the update tonight. I think that the other one has to do with nukes - it limits other players' ability to attack you in the immediate aftermath of an infiltration (unless you initiate an infiltration of your own). Looks like they're fine-tuning the balance of the FOB missions.

I tried Metal Gear Online last night, and I found it very frustrating. The matchmaking is horrible; it just throws you in with anyone, and with no consideration for your skills. So I wound up running around unfamiliar maps trying to learn them - "Black Site" isn't too bad, but it has been substantially revised from Camp Omega - and getting nowhere while experienced players killed me every fifteen seconds. The stealth camo is massively overpowered outside the Cloak and Dagger mode where it's at least balanced out by a single-shot unsilenced Wu pistol, and the Walker Gears are a case of press X to win.

@prisonermonkeys that sounds about right for Metal Gear Online, as much as I've enjoyed the iterations I've played they've hardly been balanced or fair. I'm still looking forward to trying it on PC though, as long as it's possible to play with friends.

It wouldn't be too bad if there was a way to explore the maps freely and learn them on your own, and if the matchmaking was more forgiving.

Finally got to play after some family drama this past week. Played Episode 40 and used my "run on the left, sneak under, sleep grenade attack" on Quiet. It worked. Not as well as I expected, but it worked. I had to follow her around the map a few times, but always got her with a sleep grenade from my grenade launcher.

Now, episode 41. Anybody have a good tactic for that? I can get an S rank, like I did it the first time, but want to try something different.

Also, finally got to log back into the server and did some more upgrades. Still have no clue how to FOB or setup my base. No clue how to use the weapons I developed, too. Is there a good place to learn this stuff?

Battle dress, fully-upgraded CGM 25, fully-upgraded Hail MGR-4. Go to the northern end of Nova Braga, and you will find a locked gate. Go through it, then use the fence for cover.

You should be able to adjust the security settings through the iDroid. Just go to "basic settings", choose the level you want, and it will protect your stuff. The higher the security team level, the more spaces you will get to fill with devices. You can change the precise settings through the advanced settings menu; just concentrate staff and devices on the bridges.

Sounds like fun. What I always did was take cloppity, go the side fence right where the truck is, hop over, fulton the truck, run like hell out of the hot zone. Done in just a few minutes. My other tactic was to take D-Walker, unlock gate door, open it wide enough to go through while on DW, attack skull unit with the gattling gun, extract truck and gather all fallen enemies.

Thanks for the tips. I have a feeling nothing works for me because of connection issues. I can log in, but can't do much of anything. I will try your suggestion and see if that works. Only problem is, how long before I'm allowed to log back in.

Too bad I can't try it today. Our power will go out in two hours for grid repairs. It will be out all day, and if any problems, out until late Thursday.

Stupid stupid dog. Keep out from under the wheels!

Why do I need to do this? I've been selling most of what I've lifted so far... is there a spoiler coming that I need to know about? :)

No, it just protects your FOB. Other players will be able to sneak in and steal your resources and kidnap your staff. The higher your security settings, the harder it will be for them to do that.

Are you notified when this happens? As in, even if they manage to do it 100% stealth and not get spotted, are you informed if your FOB has been infiltrated? I only ask because I haven't been attacked yet. I'm not a Plus member yet, so wasn't sure if this was related (I know I wouldn't be able to defend myself because of that).

I generally try to use up my resources to keep them at an unattractive level, although naturally have to save up 72,000 fuel now for the last few FOB developments, and I have no nukes, so I wonder if I'm just not a very attractive target for risk v reward? I've just become a PF Grade C-, I think this is also related to what players are given the option of you as a random infiltration so we'll see what happens.

I quite like the PF Grade side of the game, seeing what battles I have coming up is quite a good motivator to get out there and fulton in another round of 'volunteers' and to keep developing items etc...
