Managed to get an early practise in at Tokyo today and had a play around with the settings using those from praiano and lion's den. Praiano gave me a 1:36.2 and Lion's den gave me a 1:35.2, the tunes were quite different and just goes to show what a difference a tune can make, with a bit more tweaking I think I can get the Lion tune into the 1:34's, since there was not as much oversteer as I'd like, in fact on some corners getting the power down mid corner resulted in understeer! I also took the Lion tune back to Grand Valley just to see the difference there and found I was about 0.5 seconds quicker, but the key thing was it's easier to drive and the tyre wear was a lot more even between front and back!! Still slightly front biased on tyre wear but like I say the car needs a touch more oversteer (or a less aggressive style), just need to figure out how to get that now and I should be on my way to a decent tune, here's hoping anyway

I ran some laps this evening on Tokyo. I wish now I hadn't done it, lol. With my Lexus I was in the low 1:37's, and that was a good clean lap. I was bored so I jumped in one of the NSX's, set the HP, set the trans, and put all suspension settings at default...... turned a 1:35.4 on the first timed lap. This Lexus is very easy to drive... but damn is it slow. 👎

If anything else (GTR or NSX) comes open, let me know and I'll switch. :sly:

You can switch to the ARTA NSX if you want? If you're already turning 1:35.4's on a default suspension setup maybe you can help me with a tune or some driving tips for the NSX's, we gotta take these GT-R's down a peg or 2 ;)

I just ran a couple of laps, i had a slight tweak in the suspension settings, and completely new tranny settings, my best was a 1.34.044 (on fresh tires). With a few more practice laps i hope to get it in the 1.33's

jeez, nice lap times, I thought I was pushing the car quite hard :(

well at least someone might be in with a chance of beating the GT-R's ;)

I'll take you up on that, switch me to the Arta NSX. I'll do some testing with it and try to get with you this week for some tuning and practice. 👍

Thanks, I hope them gt-r's come second this week
just need to wait for practice times from a gt-r to see what there like on the track

I will run some laps tonight

Hey now! We love the GT-R.

Just to let you know, I was running 1:35s with the Calsonic last night during my initial practice runs. I thought I could get in the 1:34s but 1:33s seem unlikely. Maybe not? My tire wear wasn't too bad so I might be able to set up the suspension a little more aggressively.

I said last Friday that Tokyo was a NSX track and Trebor's times seem to bear that out. I doubt a GT-R sits on pole this week. We'll see.

Will someone please note down the Pole lap time. Just want to see where Im at.

Much appreciated.

tested this morning after yesterday maintenance :yuck:

:scared: I got a 1:36.046... I need to tune better If you guys are on 1:34...

this time I need intensive training :banghead:

The votes are in for Rd.5, Rd.9 & Rd.10, the results:

Rd.5 Weather Sunny & Change - Grip Reduction Real
Rd.9 Chicane cutting penalised (3 strike rule)
Rd.10 Weather Sunny & Fixed

So next week be prepared for rain, since we're racing in France it's highly likely ;)

Rd.9 comes with a warning for 1st chicane cut offence, 1pt for 2nd, 2pts for 3rd (totalling 3pts), a 4th cut will result in disqualification. I'm gonna be strict on this, I will be watching everyone through every lap on my first review of the replay, so be careful. If you're unsure what will and won't be penalised check this post https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5715501#post5715501

A note on qualification for Rd.10, qualification will be slightly longer due to track length, but there will still only be time for 1 hot lap each. If you lose control and come off track take careful note of the mini map to see if anyone is close behind you, if someone is close behind DO NOT rejoin the track until they have passed, very important here that your mistake doesn't cost anyone else. Continue to wait until there is a sufficient space for you to rejoin. Lap times should be in the region of 8 and a half minutes on average, i'll be allowing approx 20 minutes for qualifying, which means we can have a gap of about 3 minutes between first and last cars on track. I'm planning on us all entering the track and waiting in the pits, I will set everyone off in championship standings order, championship leader first and so on down the leaderboard. Depending on how many of us enter the race, the gap between the next driver setting off will be anything upwards of 11 seconds, I will call each driver to enter the track and you must wait until called before qualifying. I think this should help minimise any incidents where drivers are in each others way ;)

looks like tokyo seems to be a nightmare for them GT-R's, could this be an NSX week?
YES RAIN! looks like a strong strategy is needed for that race ;)

I'm hoping it will be, NSX podium please, with the takata on top of course ;) Sorry GT-R's, I'm not hating on you, just wanna see the NSX triumph at least once this season!

I'm excited about the chance of rain too, will certainly shake things up a bit, will be interesting to see if we have any Arton Senna's capable of amazing wet lap times in our midst. Practise and knowing when its right to change tyres and which compund to go for will be key for this one, remember we're also subject to a full 24hr time cycle here, so it could also be a wet night!! :scared:

I will fight as much as I can to protect the GT-R's honour ;)
About the rain in LaSarhe I already had and experience (4 hour race) with it during the night with LMP cars... I hope that the GT-R is more stable :scared:

I am in the 1:35 and 1:36s most of the time with my best lap in the 1:34.7 range. I am still debating pit strategy. That will be big for the GT-R since it will not hot lap like the NSX at Tokyo. I am guessing most will elect a 2 stopper due to the 36 lap length. I am hoping the NSX fades faster than the GT-R on a stint.

:idea:I love this track but I have been banging the walls too much trying to put down a good lap time. I think it has been counterproductive since I think the strategy for the GT-R should be consistent lap times over a stint rather than running the fastest lap.

I haven't had a chance to practice, but my other race was last night, so I'll start on this track tonight. I can see getting into the 1:34's, but I doubt I'll see any 1:33's.

This is one of my favorite city tracks, next to Monto Carlo. I do wish they had implemented some kind of penalty for brushing the walls coming out of turns, it's far to easy to overdrive the corners and just use the wall to save the car. I don't think people do it intentionally, but it will happen. ;)

I'll be on tonight and tomorrow night if anyone wants to practice. 👍

Hitting the walls slows you down so that is the last thing you want to do. I do agree that hitting the walls with light damage on is better than going off track in the grass or sand on permanent style courses. It still slows you down though.

Had a bit more practise tonight and managed to get a 1:34.7, damn you Garage-father you're too good for me, I'm in the stronger car and you're still as fast as I am!!

btw I'm changing the rules slightly, if the takata can catch the calsonic it's allowed to ram it off the road, or in this case through the barrier :sly: lol

That's one way to win.:scared::lol:

That 1:34.7 was my absolute best lap. I ran 2 that fast out of about 60laps of practice. My current tune keeps my lap times in the 1:35s a lot longer but I haven't managed a 1:34 with it yet.

Besides, Trebor was inching up to 1:33s.👍

This round will be very hard for me
Yesterday I spent almost 3 hours playing this damn Tokyo circuit :ouch:
I improved my pace and I setted a 1:35.2xx but I still fear the walls :nervous:
My target is to prevent tyre wear as much as possible to run good laps :banghead:

I got to do my first testing in my new car (Arta NSX) last night in Soopa's lounge and am getting consistent mid 1:35's with a best of 1:35.4. I hope to drop that to at least low 1:35's tonight. At least it looks like I'm close to being on pace. 👍

I'm catching up, but running out of practice time. So far I'm liking this NSX, just having to learn how to drive it, there is a world of difference from the Lexus.

I managed to run about 20 laps tonight, mostly trying different settings. On the last run I managed 2 laps in the 1:34's with the best being 1:34.7. Hopefully I'll have time to see how the tire wear is tomorrow before the race. I may have to go less agressive on the suspension if the tires don't hold up, or ease off on the pace a little (yeah, like that's gonna work :D).

I dont know how you guys do it. I can only just get into the 1.38's. Could someone PM me a setup for the NSX i think i need some help!

yesterday after many tries I setted up a 1:34.8xx but I dunno how I did  but after I tried again but I was not able to reach it again :odd:

:scared: I HATE THIS TRACK
