Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

Contact will happen but this league has been pretty good compared to random online racing. Hopefully that will remain the case given we have many new members.

Hey I hope nobody is pissed off wimme. I really.didn't. Mean to hit anyone. Even if I did it didn't get me anwhere, lol. Gonna av t get faster for next week.

good opening week , qualified on the front row and spun on lap 1 ended up spinning out 3 times for the race what a disaster , i had some pace but no composure , sigh

i heard garagefather say stage 3 engine tune on the mic and i realized i never purchased that mod so i will definetely be faster next week , that probably cost me .200 seconds a lap (i think)

had some good battles with soopa , it was nice to be a little faster than him

the calsonic is a beast cant wait til i tame it

great pole and win montal

i was really surprised to beat gprili in qualifying , that was my fastest time to date 1 53 7

cant believe i didnt have stage 3 engine tune on my car ,well that should mean that ill be faster next race

just checked the replay and garagefather you beat me for fastest lap by .057

montal really had a good race strategy

I doubt I had fastest lap I was preserving my tires. I was very surprised how well you did in qualify. I can't wait till next week so we have some close battles.

Nurb GP is going to a very close race and I have a lot of experience there. I had a great battle with Gprili. You had me on my wits end the whole race.

On a side note my only complaints were hamilton and Neal.

Neal already stated that he is still learning the car and he was on the wrong tires.

Neal apologized but I still don't know why he drove the way he did.

All in all I hope for the best next week.

I was on racing softs, wats rong wiv them? And what u mean drove the way I did? Tell me what I did wrong instead of making indirect insults. Not only am I new to the car, but I'm new to racing leagues in general. I don't like dirty driving,.in fact it pissed me off, so I will say it again, all I can do is apologise, I pulled over to the other side of the track when someone ahead of me wanted to lap me, and I didn't hit anyone intentionally so whats wrong with the way I drove? Apart from the fact that I was slow as hell. Lol

Right. Poor pit strategy caused me 8th place.

So the race started with me in 4th. Misshifted into 2nd gear but that was no biggie. Still got 4th by the first turn. Skeng spun out infront of me and I had to swerve to avoid him. (Mini heart attack there)
I managed to keep up with gprili and Mont, watching them have battles. I could have kept up with them had I not gambled for a 1 stopper.
I lost pace real bad on the later halves of each stint. I finally got back to 3rd around lap 26 or 27. Then I felt I should pit again as I couldn't take the risk of doing the last few laps. That put me back to 8th. Then I ran out of fuel.

All in all, pitting strategy is extremely important in an hour long race. Guess I won't be doing a 1 stopper anytime soon.

Sorry for breaking up the battle, between Soopa and Garage at lap 19 or so.
Real sorry for bumping into Garage at the chicane.

I guess I should do better for the next race now that I'm aware of how my tires wear.

I had fun out there tonight even tho I didn't do as good as I thought I would i'm still looking forward to R2 next week.I really need to do my homework on this Supra and see where it gets me but all in all great race everyone. :)

I had a typo Neal about the first part Hamilton had racing hard tires.

I lost about 2-3 seconds with my attempt to pass you around lap 25.

It look like you lost control if the car but jump onto the track too quickly. Causing me to swerve out of the way.

Hey sorry for jumping on ya like that. Lap 25 was when mi tyres ran out, lol, or there abouts, like I said I had to pit 3 times. Sorry for the 3 seconds. I'll give em ya back next week if ya want. Lol

It's ok I just wasn't sure if you lost control or did see me. If everyone practices for the next track I feel all our problems would be eliminated.

This is not directed at anyone but this is a nag the is poking at me.

I have been in many series where there are usually around 1 sometimes 2 drives that are spinning around and make huge mistakes and they never practice before hand. They usually cause problem for the leaders and other drivers.

I don't know why you you want to attend a championship series not wanting to win?

I just dont join a series and not give it my all. It does make sense to me to put yourself into something and not put your best effort.

I'm at guy who work 10-7 every weekday and I organize my GT time accordingly. If I have an hour to play in going to practice. If it's Saturday an I'm off I do my usually errands then if there is spare time do a seasonal or two then practice again.

I find for what works best for me is when I play GT I finish off by practicing for what ever racing series I'm in. It helps keep the track and car fresh in my head.

Sorry for letting this out be this has bugged me for a long time please remember I'm not directing this to anyone in general it's just a pet peeve of mind about championships.

Ps I type this in my phone so there is most likely typos/grammar errors/etc. I'm tired and I am going to sleep. :-/

Well I understand that some people have time too spare, but I don't, I work 6 days a week, 7 till 5, roughly. I have a girlfriend and a daughter, probably like most people in this league, but unlike most in this league I only found out last night that I was in, so please try to forgive my lack of practice but after putting my daughter in bed I only had a hour and a half to buy the car find out the track and practice. I PROMISE I WILL PUT MORE EFFORT IN NEXT WEEK.

I posted the very sentiments in the thread last season. I am glad to see we have similar opinions on the matter. This is what I said:

Garagefather's Recap:

You can tell that the season is winding down. It seems the same cars have been in flux all season as drivers join the league, realize that we are fast, and give up before they even finish a race. Others run a few and bail. I wonder if people think they can grab a car and jump into the room and compete?

I practice at least 2 evenings for race night. I used to practice more but I have memorized the performance of my car which allows me to run less practice laps. I still have to determine my pit strategy and race pace and that takes time. I personally don't understand how someone can come in unprepared and green to the league and expect that they will be running for the podium right away. There are racers who could do this but they are few and far between. Not too many guys are just going to jump in and run for the lead. Then they bail in frustration because they aren't on the leaders bumper?👎:grumpy: I guess some could be mad about contact but our league is clean for the most part.:)👍

I just finished reviewing lap 1 a few times and I have to say I was correct in my criticism of the Motul GT-R driven by Nealcropper. He popped me in the first corner and drove me into Allascato. I could let this go because the bump wasn't hard or damaging to my position. It was tight in the first corner with Soopa on the outside and allascato in front of me and Neal at my rear. We were totally boxed in. No harm no foul. Allascato came out of it ok as well as myself.

The attempted pass ot Degner Curve turn 8 was over the top. He had a slight run due to me being a little slow and cautious, and with the draft, he was all over my bumper. I never would have imagined he would try to make a pass on that corner so I never used my one move to prevent a pass. Ther is no room for 2 cars there and sadly, we both went off into the sand.
That tells you even with 8 tires he couldn't hold the line. Bad move w/o question.

I realize it is the first week and there is a learning curve but I practiced all week trying to make my car work and I get to the race and get punted to the back half way through he first lap w/o a prayer to make up the time and possibly eek out a podium. Very frustrating.:ouch:

I have said enough about the issue and will let it go. I know Neal will do better next week. Mistakes happen but remember courtesy is paramount.👍

At least you guys got to race..Internet finally working, don't know what the heck is up with it.
Stupid DNS error just refused to be fixed this morning and screwed me over..:grumpy:

5th wasn't a bad result considering your lap 1 wipeout Garage and you got fastest lap which gives you the same points as 4th place
I'm just upset I made so many mistakes , without them I'd be on the podium for sure

See you in Nurburg Phil

In hindsight the 33 laps at suzuka may be the way to do it in the future seasons Soopa , it forces you to focus on tire management and strategy a bit more . Since I spun out so early and took life out of my tyres I pitted lap 8 I think and then lap 22 , ideally you would want to run 11 lap stints I think

Slzk was in contention for a podium too, pity his fuel situation killed that hope.
Hope I can put some pressure on you front runners next race.
We should also try to tell newer members which corners are poor for passing,in Suzuka there are 2 where passing is not recommended I believe.
