its quite simple actually, i got it on my seconed try. i have the ntsc version btw. anyways i bought the stock mcclaren and practiced for 8 laps from a stand still. my first attempt i noticed that the suspension was much losser than the original stock so i lost by 12 seconeds, so i went and did the same for my stock mcclaren. its all about using its weight to your advantage. by drifting i won by 15 seconeds ahead of the first car, no lies....
btw do u need to get all gold licences to get a 100% in gt4

A story like that has already been tried here. Go back to post #633 of this thread, and notice what it says under his user name.

Maybe you'd describe where on the track you passed each of the other cars?

And, no, nothing about licenses counts to %. info available in numerous posts and FAQs at the top stickies.

wow this is one hard race. i did all the other 1 lap races except this one. i had like 10 tries and i still didn't get it. i don't understand why this is so hard. and also im pretty good at the ring when it comes to the cars i use. i need major help.

i won by 15 seconeds ahead of the first car, no lies...

"No lies"? We'll be the judge of that.

The time required to win is a good 9'07-9'09. Being kind, let's say it's 9'09. You claim to have finished 15 seconds better than this - that's 8'54.

The quickest recorded time - and I use the word recorded most accurately - at Mission 34 is 8'56, by one of our aliens.

Would you like to reconsider your position? I shall remind you that it is against the AUP here to post information you know to be false... Feel free to provide video evidence of your run if you can.

A screenshot with a crappy mobile phone camera would be useful IMO. You can printscreen it if you can connect your PS2 with your PC monitor. Just something that proves your time.

i have the replay saved, but everytime i try to transfer it to my usb flash drive, my game freezes and i don have a video camra so any other suggestions

What are you using to put the replay on USB? I ask because GT4 has no facility for saving replays to USB from the game, and you stated that your game freezes when you try.

But it DOES have a facility for saving a photomode picture to USB, so if you don't have a Sharkport, xport, or maxdrive, try this:

Play the replay in Replay Theater, where you get access to the photomode controls. Save a couple of pictures of the SLR as it passes each of the other cars, wide enough view that we can see where on the track that is. Post those, with the lap time at that point. There are enough of us who can identify any turn or straightaway on the track if enough track and surroundings are visible. Know also that the AI cars in this mission are VERY consistent, and if you claim to pass such-and-such a car at such-and-such time, it'll be very easy to check.

Basically the problem is this. You've made an outrageous, even ludicrous claim for your finishing time, so the burden of proof is on you.

If you're full of *&#@ on the time, then come clean now, before it gets any worse.

And since you apparently HAVE your replay, what was your finishing time? Not "15 seconds ahead of the first car," but the lap time when you crossed the line. How about your split times? If you've got the replay, those are available.

Finally, after some 6 months (on and off) I have passed this mission by some .864 seconds.

Got quite worried towards the end, as the 190 evo came across my front when we both exited the "mini karussel" causing me a 5 second penalty. I got past him on the entrance to the main straight, passed the SLK just after the bridge of the main straight (where the road bends to the left), and passed the 300sl on the pt straight.

I have now got my 100%, and the Black FGT.

hello,

played Mission 34 yesterday (I have the PAL version), lost the first time by 4 seconds from the SL but on second try managed to win the mission and beating the SL by just over 1 second!

So happy that all missions are completed!

Also, i did have a penalty where i hit the guard rail but because it was on a downhill section, it didn't really affect my speed too much. The only way to pass this mission is really to know the Nurburgring off by heart and have a feel for each corner and how fast you can take it in any car and be able to adjust your speed according to your vehicle.

One point that did help me alot was break well before the apex, generally just before you enter the corner so as to scrub enough speed off and power through the corner just before the apex!

If you want me to place up a screen shot I can provide this?

Regards

i did the mission twice and passed it, just. it is a pain in the hmhmhm and the wait is redicolous. Even though the 300sl is slow it is a pain to pass. i managed to pass it just after the last corner and have a pic to prove it once i find my memory stick

Well now, isn't it funny that we haven't heard from "italianboy4life" in all this time since his crazy claim was challenged, and the very next person to turn up and reference it shares an IP address with him...

You know it's much easier to just own up to a lie than it is to create a whole new account to decry it. Just look at our "celebrity" liars BX and M5Power.

what the hell r u saying, i live in calgary and maybe we go to the same school i dont know cause i setup this account at school, all the schools in alberta share the same ip addresse if u didn't kno that, so dont talk **** unless you can back it up!!! btw, im lebanese so why the hell would i call myself an italianboy?? think before u act.

But at least you got nervous enough to not check your grammar when you typed this didn't you?

Just take it easy, type correctly, don't go over the swear filter, and if you are indeed italianboy4life, then either give up the lie or just give up posting, as you'll dig yourself in an even bigger whole.

And congrats on the mission. 👍

dont talk **** unless you can back it up!!!

Which, of course, I can:

(full IP address obscured for your safety)

all the schools in alberta share the same ip addresse

And yet, funnily as I've just shown, you share TWO exact IP addresses with italianboy4life, from different hosting companies. If it was just the one, your explanation may hold some merit, but it isn't.

Now, let us deal with the next problem you've brought up...

Man, thats' really harsh... now who will the little white liars look up to?
Way to go for the ones that really try :irked:

it's amazing what that little "sarcasm" caption does with my posts

I was looking for some tips for this "impossible mission", but after reading so much BS on the subject, I decided it was time to just do this so I could find out for myself how "easy" it actually is (and it was time to finally get to 100%).

Basically the wait just ruins it all... makes it much less appealing, it ruins yor concentration between tries, breaks your pace and plain gets on your nervsssssss.

So it'a a patience game. I tried like 20 or 25 times. While waiting for the next try, I watched some Tv and tried to remain calm. Completed the full Mission some 15 times. Remaining either crashed or got penalties and restarted.

First try I finished, I ended up last with 9'53 (PAL) 2 Penalties and a big off/spin.
Last time I finished first with a 9'14.728 (PAL) and 2.2 sec ahead.

I was very careful on the bumps and overtaking the 190Evo and the 300SL because there was to much risk in the places I caught up to them. Ended the last straight heavy on the brakes just not to hit the 300SL and took my time until passing it on 2nd to last corner. So I think I could (in theory) do something within 9'10 and 9'12 with relative ease.

Here are the overtaking shots:

E-Braked it through the finish line, just for fun...

I took photos of the splits so I could prove them. Some are blurred but I don't feel like watching the replay again, so...

____ +1'41.153___________ +1'32.323__________ +1'23.525

____ +1'11.701___________ +0'59.323___________ +0'48.322

_____ +0'33.575__________ +0'2x.52x___________ +x'xx.xxx

____ +0'10.564___________ +0'01.823___________ -0'02.268

Finish: 9'14.728 (PAL)

In conclusion. It's not easy... You won't get it right on the first, second or third try, no mater how well you know the track or like the car (unless you're a resident alien). You have to re-learn every bump and breaking point, re-invent some trajectories and coordinate 5 overtakes.

But practice and patience (a LOT of it) will take you there and wen you do, you will say: "that wasn't impossible after all !"

So it's not easy, but it's not impossible.

To end, I'd like to dedicate this post to all BS artists that just add junk to this and other threads, making it harder for people who are looking for relevant info and tips to actually find any. Nice going... 👎

PS: Question for those who have completed it. Doesn't the SLK always show right 1 sec in the back of the 300SL at the finish? It did with me every time, and it even appears in this shot:

In one of "crazyace08" finishing shots, the front view wide angle one, it's not there... Maybe it spun off track in that tricky last part right at the end. It's quite tricky that last part...

The wait drives me mad. For some other missions I bought the car and practiced in a free run, and just turning off the ASM seemed to be about right. But I can't seem to get this car right. I've read this entire thread and people seem to have totally different opinions on this. Please can someone help me with definitive ASM/TCS settings to mimic the set-up in the mission?

...

In my PAL game, 3rd is usually about 3 seconds behind second. This is from approx 50 1st places.

Also the ealier you pass second seems to make his lap time longer.
I have seen 2nd finish in the high 18's which is about a two second varition between slowest and fastest.
Best time I have recorded is a 9'03".3,( winning margin + 15.3 secs.) and three times in the 9'04" range.
Even after winning 50 times it is very hard to pull consistant fast lap times. The smallest error can cost 2 seconds, make a couple and you will be in the 9"09- 12 margins.

For what it's worth I've noticed that in some other missions, Mission 17 in particular, the other cars all slow down to a crawl when you cross the finish line. I won that once by what I thought would be about four or five seconds but the second place car didn't cross the line until something like twelve seconds later. I watched the replay from the Bentley's POV and it did indeed slow down to about 50 mph.
